Have purchased about 10 firearms from Keith's over the past 15 years. I always go in knowing what I want based on online reviews, etc. I try to go during the week when it is less busy. The staff are always busy helping customers pick out and buy their items, and I usually don't have to wait long before it is my turn. Once I fill out the BGC form, it usually takes 5 to 10 minutes for approval; probably speeded up by having a Concealed Carry Permit. By the way, I took the Concealed Carry class from Keiths 15 or so years ago - it was great. Keith's has an awesome selection of guns, at great prices, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I suspect all the folks who gave them 1 star reviews are perpetual whiners, probably Democrats that voted for ballot measure 114 that will likely put most gun shops out of business. Shop at Keiths for all of your guns. By the way, I have NEVER received any junk mail in the US Mail about guns so I know Keith's is not sharing any information on their customers and I appreciate that! read more

Service is always terrible. Gave it a break for about a year, went back today to try to buy an EOtech / other items. I stood around for about fifteen minutes and was never acknowledged. Everything is locked up and couldn't even grab anything myself. This is the service I'm used to at Keith's. Will never go back. read more

I have been to Keith's several times and have purchased several firearms from Keith's. As long as you know what you want and have money all is good. The second you have a question or concern about a previously purchased firearm from them they are total pricks. They sold me a firearm with an active recall notice. All they had to do was be cordial and hopefully search their remaining stock for the serial numbered firearms subject to the recall so nobody else has to deal with the hassle of sending back to manufacturer. If you are a responsible FFL dealer you would stay informed and work with the customer you affected instead of being jerks about it. In the end they couldn't care less about it. Ten people right behind me with money burning a hole in their pockets and would happily put them out as well. Nothing special here, plenty of other places to get whatever anyone need. "If we don't have it, you don't need it", guess that goes for customer service as well. read more

Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. Yes they are not a big box retailer that marks up their guns like crazy and therefore has all the time in the world to stand around and chitchat. That being said if you somewhat know what you want, and want to save money then come here. I came in to buy a Ruger mark IV Hunter, got it for 599.99 which is 40 bucks less than another store. Could of saved 130 by buying the old model but totally worth it to get the new one. I will say one thing, their 22 ammo isn't the cheapest, although they always have it in stock. Then again no one can compete with good ole Walmart when it comes to ammo. One thing I do want to mention. There is a middle aged lady that did seem kind of rude. Kept counting the money when a customer came up and asked to look at some ar-15s. Seemed really bothered that he would disrupt her. This seems pretty consistent with at least another review. read more

We stopped in because we needed a two knives and they have a good selection. The store is small, but well stocked. It was relatively busy, so we browsed their displays and would very much have liked to buy there. Unfortunately, staff didn't even make eye contact with us, let alone speak to us. They have a great display for a rather small space. Staff seemed knowledgeable and the price was great. I priced out a S&W with factory installed laser at Bi-mart and Keith's was better priced with a more knowledgeable staff and they had it in-stock. I dealt with Keith and he was professional and courteous. This store was able to help me out with items a competitor promised and did not deliver on. In the midst of a lot of confusion and a line out the door, everyone I observed in the store was polite and helped every customer the best they could. Even when a customer tried to skip the line, an employee was firm but polite and diffused the situation without incident. I will definitely do business here again. read more

I'm from WA and stopped in due to 1) no sales tax 2) reports of large inventory. Decent prices, sure, but I'm not sure if it's just pre-election panic buying -- they really didn't have a lot of great stuff. Lots of cheap old hunting rifles and shotguns, lots of really low end ARs, but not an amazing selection of anything better. Definitely worth shopping here if you're local, but wasn't worth the 90 minute detour to browse and search for cool stuff. read more

By far my favorite gun store in the Portland metro area, or anywhere really. I have been to a lot of shops and the guys here treat you with respect no matter what your skill/ knowledge level. I have brought several friends in for their first purchase and they were not treated like clueless idiots like at many other places I have witnessed. Great selection for such a small place. They do have a storage facility across the street so they have a lot in stock you can't see. GREAT prices! Way less than other places. The employees aren't the friendliest in the world, but they work in weaponry. They're not social butterflies lol read more

On 3/20/20, I walked in to find at least 30+ people standing in line mere inches from each other, all crammed inside one little room with a fan blowing their germs all around. I saw only one person (a customer) wearing a mask. No one else was adhering to ANY social distancing guidelines, including staff, nor were any wearing PPE. The current local guidelines for Covid-19 are no gathering in groups larger than 10-federally, it's groups larger than 3. I stayed long enough to capture a quick video and got the hell out of there, holding my breath the entire time. In that short time, two others entered and loudly expressed dismay about the conditions. Staff completely ignored their yelling and just kept ringing people up. They clearly care about one thing--and it aint the lives of their customers or community. I'm reporting this everywhere i can. It's disgusting--this business is playing a role in killing people by their complete disregard for safety and negligence. read more

I live in Gresham and have tried to give Keith's the benefit of the doubt, half dozen times now I imagine. It is official though, they are the worst small business in the world. I don't understand how they even stay in business... They are bad at customer interaction, don't communicate as a staff, all seem sketchy and always enter conversations on the defensive; looking for every opportunity to "stick it to you." I was in the Army for 10 years and saw MANY horrible small business around the world. I've purchased two handguns, one shotgun, several knives and other supplies here - and for the most part had great experiences, both in the shop and at the gun shows. There were two employees who really killed the joy of it for me. A girl was in a rush to leave and didn't want to ring up my $1,300 sale and made it clear how unimportant I was. She made no attempt to be polite and shouted for someone else to do it for her. One guy with the "macho know it all" attitude sat on the counter top really took the jerkoff award by talking about my infant son. Who says to a customer (or any human being for that matter) that their life matters more than your 3 month old sons life? I don't even know you dude nor do you have any right to talk about my son. Keep your disgusting comments about kids to yourself. Really didn't make this Veteran feel welcome. Apart from those two clowns, the shop is well stocked and the other staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. If you're in the area I'd recommend stopping by. read more

I drove from Eugene to Portland to check out this gun store. I read a ton of reviews. Probably close to 100. And was convinced that they had great deals but awful customer service unless you were in the "club" with the staff. HOWEVER. When I arrived it was very busy with anywhere between 15-20 people already in the store. Within 3 minutes I was greeted by a young woman (later found out it was Keith's daughter) I informed her I was just checking stuff out. About 4 minutes later I was greeted by another employee this time a young man who I then informed I'd like to look at a New glock and asked if they had any beretta CX4 carbines in 9mm 92fs model. Quickly I had the 100 flocks to choose from and one in my hand and while I was looking it over and having a very educated conversation with this young man Keith's daughter went down to the vault to get me a brand new CX4 that they have had since 2014 (still had the import tags on the box) Apparently it was in the back and has never been pulled out. She came back up. Everyone was very pleasant and I ended up taking the beretta home with me. If your not an over sensitive A**hole you'll be treated well. I was very happy! read more

I went into Keith's Sporting Goods a few weeks ago to look at some guns. I am a looking to be a first time gun owner and I took a friend with me. Let me advise all of you to stay away from this horrible business. They are extremely rude, talk down to you and make you feel horrible. We were only there maybe 5 minutes before we left because of the way we were treated. I then went back a week later by myself thinking maybe they were just having a bad day when we went in. Not the case, they were even more rude and unprofessional this time. I left again and will never go back. I went to other gun stores in the area and told them of my experience at Keith's and none of them were surprised. One dealer says he knows of the lady that was so rude to me and my friend and said she should not be in the business because of the way she treats people. Amazing store. I always steer clear of name brand and specialty stores, as they tack their high end price tag on EVERYTHING. HOWEVER, this store is truly a mom and pop special with attention to the clients and rapidly changing varying inventory. I shopped my pistol into the ground visiting about 12 or more stores, including online, and Keiths could not be beat. Then, after several gunsmiths declined work on my hunting rifle, I did the same shopping for a extremely high end 4 lb hunting rifle, ....and again Keiths outshone them all; at one point REFERRING ME OUT to make sure I got what I wanted. Referrals--in fact they referred me to a gunsmith and cerakote specialist that smoked every other one I spoke to. Even as a looky loo, asking myriads of questions and then walking out, I get stellar service from them, so the gentleman who complained of "employee mugging" must have been at a different store altogether, or has a different definition of good service. When swamped, the clerks will call out a greeting and make sure you are acknowledged and that someone will get to you. read more
