Ok ok ok! Yes, the most delicious and authentic (trust me I know, I lived in India for over 15 years) Indian food in S.F. I don't need to rant and rave about the food or how incredibly passionate and awesome Rita the owner is. All the other reviews say that already. I do want to give kudos to the chef for making such an outstanding dessert tray for us though. 3 different desserts and the gulab jaman was in the decorate ball. Exquisite! Magnificent! Touching to be served. Thank you, chef and Rita for another memorable dining experience.

Very cute spot on Clement Street. Every time I've come there's no wait to be seated, the space can get full but never crowded. Service here is quick and friendly and they make great recommendations as well. The food is flavorful and spicy, they have a mild option too, but if you choose medium you do have to enjoy some spice!

I went back again 2 years later and its still super good! It was empty inside today, which worried me but It may have been the time of day(2:10pm). At any rate we had quick service and the food is amazing, my sister has been to india this year and said it tasted very authentic to her. I was pleasantly surprised that it was as good after returning, thats rare these days. Tried something different this time and really enjoyed that! Whatever they are doing I hope they keep it up and have many more happy diners.

Absolutely excellent!!! I've been dying to try Keeva and it did not disappoint. We arrived for an early dinner and not only did they have a highchair, they also had a kids plate/tray and water cup. Everyone who worked there was incredibly nice and friendly. The food was . We ordered dal, lamb saag, and butter chicken. We also got the naan/roti combo and goat curry. I hadn't had Indian food this good since I spent time in India. We capped it off with gulab jamun which can be super hit or miss, but this one blew me away. Can't wait to run it back

Chettinad Goat Curry and Butter Chicken

Friendly family establishment with great selection of food! Palak chaat was delicious - fried spinach leaves were crispy and the mint sauce at the bottom cut through the oil. The mango lassi was too yogurty and lacking in mango flavor.. The chettinad goat curry was yummy - goat was nicely cooked and the spicy kick was appreciated. The butter chicken was very tomato flavor heavy - almost reminiscent of pasta sauce taste..

Keeva Indian Restaurant on Clement Street is comfort in every bite. If you're craving something homemade that brings you back to cozy monsoon evenings, this is the place. Enjoy delicious curries with a cup of chai, a glass of wine, or a cold beer, pure bliss!

I am an SF native and I can't believe this has been my first time here at Keeva! This restaurant is sooooo good, the service is so lovely, and the ambiance feels so heart warming. It's not pretentious and has a really good neighborhood feel once you step in. I tried two curries ( fish and goat) and the flavors, chef's kiss! I wasn't going to have naan but once it was ordered and came out I couldn't help myself; it was so tasty!

Explosive flavors and unique combinations prevail at Keeva, located in South SF on a popular restaurant street/area. As with anywhere in SF, parking is tricky and you may need to circle around for street parking since spots in front of the restaurant are usually taken. But it's usually not more than a 5 minute walk (just be prepared to parallel park). Love the ambiance here and the food even more. Keeva serves traditional Indian cuisine - curries, naan, tandoori chicken - with some extra flair. As a non-salad person, their salad was my favorite thing and I don't think I've ever felt that way at another restaurant. Great service and the portions are huge. Their chai is also to die for. I'd recommend coming here a little earlier for dinner since it fills up quickly. Come alone, with friends, or on a date - you'll leave happy!

Omg you have to get this! First thing on the menu.

Absolutely phenomenal. Loved the owner--I've worked in restaurants before, and I hope to have even a tenth of her charisma some day.

Goat or Lamb Biryani

I used to eat here all the time and I guess it has changed. I ordered via DoorDash the GOAT biryani, and anyone who has had biryani knows the meat is tender and the rice ain't dry. Mine was quite the disappointment as the meat was tough and what I did have needed quite the surgery trying to get it off the bone and the load of fat that it came with (see picture of post meal) The rice was colorful but dry and the saving grace was the raitha that came with it. Really disappointed cause I loved this place when I lived in the Richmond

Great meal! Fast service and good portion size. We tried a variety of dishes and they were all delicious.

Savor is an all-vegetarian, but mostly vegan, Yemeni restaurant. Everything is either vegan or is labeled as a 'vegan option' if there is dairy. , Here's what I tried: -Split pea soup: comes with every order (at least during lunch). I love a good split pea soup, and they're hard to find vegan out in the wild, so I really enjoyed this. -Artichoke Shawarma: Artichoke is soft but meaty. Hummus tastes fresh and homemade. Lots of flavor and zestiness throughout! -Mujadara: Forbidden rice and lentils topped with tofu, veggies, and tahini sauce. They use Hodo tofu, which is a great quality tofu. The rice is so soft and has a great texture to bite into. It's a mix of hot ingredients and cold ingredients, making this an adventurous plate for your taste buds! -Wild mushroom knafeh: My favorite dish I tried! Savory mushrooms with the sweet cream and crunchy top. I honestly didn't know what I was eating, but I could not stop until it was gone! -Dessert was recommended to us by the owner - a sweet coconut cream pastry. Again, I wasn't too sure what I was eating, but this dessert was a delectable bite from beginning to end. We really enjoyed our time and thank Mo for the wonderful recommendations, service, and above all, the delicious food! We will be back!

Would definitely pass on the butternut squash pizza and hodo tofu brochettes. The bread basket was fine, the butter was a bit interesting with corn, miso, and honey flavors. It's served with a side of housemade chips. The rueben was large enough that I was full eating just half and got the rest to go. After finishing my meal, I also got an oat cappuccino for an afternoon pick me up and was happy to have a boost of caffeine. The espresso was surprisingly good for a restaurant coffee bar. Would definitely recommend for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I'll have to come back to try their dinner menu which seems more creative and unique!

Thankfully, Jalebi Street knocked this out of the park. Now, just add makki di roti and I'll be back every weekend! * Vada pav (5/5): To be honest, I'm not the biggest vada pav fanatic, but this is probably the best one I've had outside of India. * Onion kachori (3/5): Good, but nothing to write home about. To be honest, it was a little too spicy, even for me. * Mango lassi (4/5): Not too sweet, with just the right amount of tartness. * Masala soda (4/5): Why is this such a rarity at Indian restaurants in the US when every place back home has this on the menu? It was delicious, but way too expensive (almost 8 bucks). We are definitely going to be back, especially since we committed the cardinal sin of not trying the jalebi at Jalebi Street.

Bought my tix online and waited for the day to arrive. I included the offspring and +1 for the event. Got there early and found parking basically in front, a miracle in SF. Doors opened at 5:02 and we were greeted by the chef and staff all dressed in green like the Jolly Giant of commercial fame. The tables were decorated with flowers sprouting from funny shaped radish and turnip "pots". Did I mention that the dinners have been called whimsical......... So it begins. We got two juice pairings and two alcohol pairings and both were really interesting. The local Chardonnay on lees and the martini were winners in the alcohol category whereas celery ginger kombucha and citrus drink were rulers of the nonalcoholic category. Some refills were provided, yeah! First course - Miso celeriac soup with foraged herbs, walnut dill bread with kumquat jelly and chive butter. Rich and tasty soup with great bread though two smaller pieces would have been better than one large to enjoy the spreads. Second course - Lacto-fermented beets, roasted carrot, little jellies with spicy carrot salad and hummus. Everything was unique with interesting flavors and consistencies. Loved the little jellies made with agar and the carrot salad, Wow! Third course - Mushroom and beet pub pie over purple cauliflower béchamel. Amazingly flaky vegan puff pastry, don't know how they did that without butter. Filling was earthy and savory complemented well by the béchamel. Dessert - a selection of citrus based seasonal treats including chocolate, little cake balls, candied kumquats and aquafaba. Not just great for being vegan but actually a triumph. First time trying aquafaba and it really tasted like a light, neutral whipped cream. Big fan of the candied kumquats too. They even stuck a candle in the birthday girl's bowl and led the obligatory serenade. Overall a fun experience that reflects Alex Lauritzen's passion for vegetable based cuisine, taking it fully to the fine dining level but doing it with joy and whimsy. Staff and service were attentive. This was the eighth mushroom with dinners occurring once a month. They may also do pop up a La carte service but I'm not sure. Check the Insta @the mushroomsf for deets. We left pleasantly full so no post-Michelin pizza
