I feel like the scale for a kebab place shouldn't go up to five stars. The best Turkish kebab in the world should only be worth four stars. For the love of God, it's just a kebab! But the thing is, you can eat these things three times a day. I'll take three kebabs over a five-star meal any day. Spicy please!! As for this place, it's four-star rating means that it's probably the best kebab in Texas, if not the entire country. Although, come to think of it, I haven't been able to find another kebab in this country, try as I might. I had my first kebab wrap ever and I must say, it was delicious! I got The Sublime which has char-grilled halal chicken breast, veggies, tzatziki sauce and red sauce. The regular size was a good portion and worth the $9 price. The service was good and it was fast. The atmosphere here is laid back. It's also nice that they have a ping-pong table in the back. Amazing kababs! This place used to be a food truck and is now grounded in east austin in a very happening area. Previously we had their sandwiches and loved it. Their kababs are juicy. Now they have more protein options in the menu besides the classic beef and lamb and chicken. You can now have tofu too, halal steak meat, texas lamb and bison. What is also exciting to see that you can order it over a rice bowl instead of a wrap (great for gluten free). I had their beef and lamb in a rice bowl which comes with chickpeas and almonds. I picked their tzatziki sauce and spicy red sauce. It was perfect. They have unique sauces to try with their recent addition being kaboom sauce which is an avacado, poblano sauce. I am really happy that they expanded their menu and that you can customize it to be as healthy as you would like. They havent lost flavor and service is on point. I must add that i love that they infuse their water with mint and fresh lemon. The location is pretty nice, lots of outdoor seating and play area for kids. There is also a ping pong table. read more

This place exceeded all expectations for me...I'd tried for a couple days to make it out here but I wasn't able to, so when I finally did make it, I was ravenous for some great food. I got "The Rustic" king size and it was amazing. The meat was packed with flavor, and it was a massive wrap that filled me up. I also got a side of fries, which was a pretty big portion in itself. Honestly I was a tad disappointed in the fries because I asked for them extra extra crispy and they just served them to me as they would normally cook them, but the wrap definitely made up for it! My only complaint, which I why I only gave 4 stars, is that they are kinda pricey...I paid $18.05 for a wrap, fries, and bottled water and no tip since its counter service...so be sure to refinance your house beforehand. Needless to say, I will definitely be back, though I need to make some more money first! Oh Also, be aware that there is a TINY parking lot located directly behind them...If that one is filled up, good luck finding a spot you don't have to pay for within a 28 miles. read more

DINNER REVIEW Came to Kebabalicious because I was still hungry after a less than stellar food truck experience elsewhere. I LOVE middle eastern cuisine, especially of the fast-casual variety, so I was excited about this given the reviews. I went with my Turkish friends and they pointed out that nothing about it was authentic (though the name "Kebabalicious" doesn't particularly scream authenticity). The staff was very friendly though. I ordered the Turk Salad with beef and lamb. The meat was good but the salad itself didn't add much. The spicy red sauce was great though! Terrible! Highway robbery! I ordered lunch for my team today to celebrate an anniversary. I went to order it online for takeout and I would pick it up, but there was an $11.95 "Service Fee" to order online. So I went ahead and just went to the restaurant on 7th Street to just order the food myself there and wait for them to make it, so I wouldn't incur the "service fee", but they said I still had to pay the service fee because the order was more than $50! I had my doubts. Boy was I wrong. You see, I've never eaten at their trailers before, but when I saw this brick & mortar pop on the side of town I usually hang out at, well it intrigued me. The inside is small and not a lot of seating (2-3 tables?), so one can assume the eating is to be done outside. We ordered the kebabafries, LOTS of feta with seasoning and some spicy red sauce. This heaping of fries is up there with my favorite, fun fries. We shared a regular sized falafel wrap because we weren't too hungry. Seriously, one of the BEST falafel wraps I've ever had. Everything about the ingredients to the pita was perfect. I'm not sure what made it stand out so much, it could be that crazy red sauce. I've never had "turkish style" wraps before, but whatever these white boys did to make it turkish, keep doing it because I want it again. Like, now. They had several cucumber and lemon infused water taps and it went so well with dinner. It was like a battlefield with all the gnats landing in my water, hovering around the food, and douchey bugs punching me in the face. If you get your food to go, I wouldn't blame you. But they do have an impressive local canned beer selection and they were selling pint glasses as well. It wasn't very busy, which I appreciated. Maybe I'm just not all that hard to impress after a night of drinking, but Kebabalicious made the missus and I glad that we stopped in. So, on to the deets. The spicy loaded fries are metaphysically awesome: hot, crispy, and covered in beautiful and delicious red things plus feta. The veggie kebabs were good, but Kismet on campus has better and cheaper (the falafel could have been a bit crunchier). There's a standard size and an upgrade to plus-size gluttony for like an extra four bucks if you have a big appetite or BAC at .20 or better. Stealing that play from the stoner burrito joints earns like 5,000 marketing points, btw. The space looks great, with a small inside and a big, very nice patio. They serve beer, so probably plus one star for not forcing me to sober up any while I ate. I hate that. The food came super quick despite a busy Saturday night crowd. So, on the whole, I'm always glad to have tasty late-night veggie options to keep me from falling off the wagon when I've had a few. This fit the bill nicely. I visited this establishment for the first time on a Friday night. I didn't feel like cooking. Kebabalicious is in walking distance of where I was at so I figured I'd give it a try. The cashier was friendly and helpful when I asked a question which was nice. I ordered the Turk salad and added on beef/lamb along with one falafel. Since I'm a poor college student with an ever shrinking wallet, I decided why not splurge and get the zucchini fries (completely logical). The food took a little bit longer than I may had expected, but there were only two gentleman working there that evening, so I'm not going to fuss much over that. The food came out, I took it back to the place I was staying at while I was cat sitting (nice person right?), and proceeded to eat my $14 dinner. Unfortunately, they left out the Tzatziki and red sauce which is supposed to come with the meal. The zucchini fries were a bit lackluster if I must be honest. They were a bit below my expectation and for a $3.99 add on, I won't be getting them again. I can't complain about the food itself for the most part; the meat, salad, and falafel were good. However, for $14 it's a bit pricey for what you get. Will I return? I often like to attribute my long-time Yelping habit to the London food scene, and specifically, the street kebab. Arguably the street food of choice for the modern world, I absolutely love kebabs, from the turkish style messy late night snacks on the streets of London to the often even healthy and quality grilled options down in Australia - kebabs are marvelous culinary gems, and I'm thrilled to have found a good option here in Texas. Food trucks grow up into store fronts because they're good, and kebabalicious is good. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Kebabalicious has grown up a lot from their humble food truck roots, and with a fully equipped patio and even some indoor seating, Kebabalicious on E 7th is a great spot even if the weather isn't cooperating. Service is a tad bit slow compared to some of the immediately gratifying, shave the meat off of the spit options elsewhere, but it's certainly nothing worth docking a star over. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? One of the best thing about kebabs is that they provide marvelous value worth navigating through even the most crippling of drunken nights or hungover mornings. After hearing about Kebabalicious for years, I finally gave it a try! I had the chicken wrap - huge portions and pretty delicious! The chicken felt a little dry but we were there toward the end of the night, so maybe it wasn't as fresh as it would have been earlier in the day. Also split an order of fries which was more than enough for 2 people. The fries were incredibly delicious but very spicy (for me, a lightweight) so something to keep in mind if you are sensitive to spice! Parking in the area can be tricky. My husband and I had shared a falafel several years ago from the food truck. He did not remember it too well so we took a slight detour on our drive from San Antonio to Dallas to get some falafel wraps. Boy oh boy it did not disappoint... needless to say it will be a flavor my husband will NOT forget this time.
