I took a look at their menu and decided to go with a beef & lamb wrap, which is what I was nostalgic for. The fellas that own it have been at it for almost 20 years! Doner kebabs are my jam when I'm in the UK and I'm happy to say my jam at home as well. These guys nail it with the doners! Got the rice bowl with falafel and a side of fries with za'atar here yesterday night. I thought they had an indoor seating area but it turns out they only have outdoor seating that's covered. Thankfully they do have some heaters that they turned on from my friend and me. As for the food itself, it was solid. I enjoyed the rice topped with almonds and two sauces that you get the choose; I got the tzatziki and the tahini. The falafel itself was pretty moist but the flavor got a little lost with the rice and sauces. Overall, it was good but not great. It's a good option to have in the neighborhood though. read more

So happy we stumbled upon this place. We were looking for a solid Mediterranean option in downtown Austin and this one absolutely delivers. The space is super cute and easy for us to walk to. I came here for dinner recently and really enjoyed my meal! I was expecting this spot to be a standalone food truck but it is so cute and has so much outdoor seating, part of which is covered under a patio situation. The guy who took my order was very nice and gave good suggestions. I ended up ordering the rice bowl with the beef and lamb kebab meat and it was so good. Everything was very flavorful and had a lot of depth. I loved the almonds being sprinkled on top! It added a nice crunch. I couldn't decide what to have so I got a lot A bowl with grilled chicken and tzatziki and tahini sauces Hummus and Pita And their K-fries The chicken was some of the best chicken I've had in a while The hummus was definitely homemade The fries - dear Lord! They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside (so perfect basically) covered in a red sauce that had a nice kick to it the feta was sprinkled over the top and it was served with a lemon wedge. I will dream about these fries. Everything that came out looked good. Everything I had was fresh. Parking was pretty easy. Staff was nice. I do wish they had dessert - though I'm not sure I could eat, I'm so full (three containers of take home means I'm eating well tonight). I'll definitely be back. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! They have wraps, bowls, and salad bowls. You take your pick! Beef and lamb is my favorite but the chicken thighs are also pretty damn good! Let's not forget about the falafel balls.. I've tried Falafel at several different places around Austin, but the Falafel here is just on point every single time I order it! Outdoor seating only. The service is quick, no wait staff though, when you show up, you'll order at the walk up window and find a seat. They'll bring the food out to you! Some of the outdoor seating is fully covered, and some of it just has a large umbrella. So if it's raining, it's 50/50 depending on how busy they are whether or not you'll stay dry if you're planning to dine in. But they'll definitely be open regardless of the weather. read more

The lady who helped us was super enthusiastic about all their food and let us sample the sauces, which were quite good and they also have a wide selection. Given her enthusiasm, we were not fully satisfied with the food. She raved about how great the rice was, so we tried both a rice bowl and a salad. First off, portions were a bit small. The lamb was better than the falafel, and the rice was just awful. It tasted undercooked, and was hard and stale. I'm hoping that the rice is not always like this. There's also cucumber water available to drink and the tables are stocked with hot sauce, napkins, and forks. There are a lot of fans so it may be best not to wear a dress. If you are looking for kebabs, Austin had lots of options, but having been to this one more times than I can count, I can say it is the best. Consistently great good wraps and salads. The hall lamb is my favorite of the meat options, but there is gyro, chicken and falafel/ veggie option for all dishes. Two sizes of wrap, so my always hungry son loves the king sized option. Sauces are superb. Lots of choices here, from mild to spicy. Kabaam, original red a tzatziki are awesome choices. Food comes out quickly, hot and fresh. Healthy for what it is, too. Kebabalicious on East is a fantastic place that holds one of my favorite meals of all time. The venue itself is a cool east austin vibe with an outdoor seating area and ping pong table. There is also a indoor patio section with self serve fruit infused water for free. I have been many times and ordered a variety of things but certainly the rice bowl with steak or beef and lamb is a consistent delicious meal. I eat a lot of Mediterranean style food and what sets Kebabalicious apart is the additional things like red onion, sauce and sliced almonds (or some other nut), etc. that pairs so well with the primary protein and carb. The dishes are a good size and when I order a king size, it almost always fills me up. In this review I have to highlight the fries. Oh my! The fries are fantastic. Their fries at a base level are perfect, extremely crispy, not greasy, flavorful and stay that way. Same can be said about the sweet potato fries. K-fries come with sauce and feta and are almost a must if I am not ordering fries for my entree. Speaking of fry entree if you are in the mood, order the boss fries! Simply one of the best things I have ever graced my mouth with. It is essentially k-fries plus steak and the portion is amazing. Lastly, service is so quick and kind. They are extremely helpful when deciding your order and the woman who I believe is an owner actually gave me a coupon to order the boss fries for free once when I had seen another couple order it and I had asked her what it was. The rustic is hands-down my favorite thing and go-to order. The Brussels sprouts and steak are so flavorful, combined with the sauces and soft pita bread, it is *chef's kiss*. I've found the proportions have been just right. Eat it quickly tho, as it can get soggy fast due to the contents of the wrap. The fries are very good as well, they are a thicker cut fry, but seasoned generously with Zaatar. This is one of my all time favorite ny street cart type of places to eat. I've tried so so many items from the menu and loved each one even more. The sauces are each very flavorful and worth getting, I love building my own rice bowl and the added touch of chickpeas and nuts they throw in there to make it so much tastier than their competition. The meat is always so juicy and well cooked, my only complaint is I wish all of it were halal! I mistakenly assumed it was a halal place and got the chicken (spoiled brat) and some other dishes from their menu. Unfortunately only some of the meat is halal, chicken breast (halal) vs chicken thighs (not halal but obviously way tastier and juicer). I love how its fusion rather than classic Mediterranean, it sets them apart and the restaurant has plenty of seating which is great. Parking is hard to find so be mindful of that. read more

PROS: (1) Tasty food. (2) Vegan options (3) Seating area is cozy, interesting, and nice. Love it. CONS: (1) No whole wheat option. This is a deal-killer for me going forward. (2) *Minimum* suggested tip on the tablet is 15%, even though 10% tip for order-at-the-counter is standard. Ten percent should be the minimum on the tablet, that leaves two other options for those who want to leave excessive tips. Yes, I know I can go through the hassle of entering a custom tip, but I shouldn't have to. (3) This is all the more egregious because their home page defends their pricing and portion sizes because of, in part, "our dedication to paying our staff fair living wages." If they're truly paying your staff living wages then they shouldn't be hitting them up for tips at all, and they *certainly* shouldn't have the default tip percentage being more than customary. I had no qualms with prices or portion sizes, but bragging about their supposed dedication to paying fair living wages and then hitting customers up for excessive tips is beyond the pale. (4) Receipt from my 2022 visit had a "Service Charge" of $7.00. ...(a) Tried to call the phone # on the receipt to inquire but it was disconnected. ...(b) Called a number I found on the web but there was no answer and mailbox was full. ...(c) Called another time, they answered, they said the service charge is for orders over $50, and that that's disclosed on the new menu board. Not sure it was on the menu when I was there. Basically a house and backyard converted into an eating place. House itself being used as kitchen/prep and they have outside patio and back area for dining with picnic tables. Overall the food was good. I prefer the chicken over lamb/beef gyro. Lamb and gyro seemed very oily. My understanding is getting meet is suppose to be grilled. We ordered 2 things Falafel bowl and falafel wrap I must say, the falafel was very soft and yummy!!!! They're huge 2 balls in the bowl. When I started eating I thought that it's a very small portion, but given the size of that falafel, I kinda knew it was going to be heavy. The rice and veggies were well cooked as well.
