This review is probably moot considering so much has already been said about Kebabalicious. I'll make it brief. We went on a Saturday morning and there was plenty of street parking and only a few customers sitting around. I'm glad the weather was nice enough for the outside seating seeing as there were only two tables inside. My falafel Kebab was delicious! I was worried that the mix of hummus, tzaziki, and red sauce would be too much liquidity but it was perfect (although when I asked for it spicy, I hoped it would be spicier). I'm extremely picky with falafel and sometimes it just tastes downright gross to me. This is definitely not the case here. Crispy and soft and flavorful and green. We also got an order of kebab fries- seasoned french fries with lots of red sauce and feta on top. That red sauce is SO GOOD. I actually put some of the fries on my kebab after a while to kick up the spice. I only have two real qualms with Kebabalicious; they didn't give me any kind of plate or anything so I pretty much just had to hold my kebab the whole time. I wanted to eat some fries and get a drink but couldn't put my food down to do so :( Additionally, they should really put a squeeze bottle of that red sauce on the table or something. Great place to get a wrap beef lamb chicken falafel or hummus the French fries are pretty amazing I have to say I'm kind of addicted. Great outdoor seating especially when it's not so hot outside lots of shade some tables picnic tables and one nice little corner booth. Small stage for occasional live music. Local craft beer and tasty fountain beverages available. Even have nice restrooms. Over all one of my favorite places in Austin. read more

Loved the mix of all the kebabs -- lamb/beef, chicken and falafel. Love the sauce, the hummus and the fresh veggies. And I like their mint and cucumber infused water they had, too. So fancy! LOL. Visited here yesterday and it's really such a cute place! We ordered our food and went to sit in the back sitting area and it really was just perfect! Moving on to the food... I ordered the k fries which are fries with red sauce and feta cheese and they were actually really good! I was comparing them to the fries at halal bros and these would win hands down. What I was disappointed with was the chicken kabob. The portion is a decent size but it was just horribly bland even though I asked for it to be extra spicy and it really wasn't anything I would ever crave again. Although I am writing this review for the restaurant, I'd give 5 stars even for the trucks that they have. This is among my favourite places to eat at in Austin. In fact, whenever I have friends visiting from out of town, this is one place I definitely take them to. The taste appeals to my Indian tastebuds (most mediterranean food places do), but this places take it several notches higher. Try to the spoiled brat if you eat all kinds of meat. (Update: Since the incident described below and the posting of my review, the establishment did follow up and sincerely apologize. As a result, I have raised my rating by one star and will consider giving Kebabalicious another try in the future.) I had been eating at Kebabalicious fairly regularly for a few years, but I will never come back after my last visit (the evening of November 9, 2019) checked all the boxes for a terrible experience. (1) We waited more than 10 minutes in line, and then more than 20 additional minutes for our food. It was hard to understand why the service was so slow given that the place wasn't even crowded. (2) After waiting a long time, I asked the cashier when our food would be ready, and the disgruntled man working at the grill unnecessarily and rudely replied, "It will be ready whenever it's ready." He actually went out of his way to be obnoxious to customers. (3) Following all of that, the food they gave us was ice cold, the pitas were soggy, and one of them had no baba ganoush even though it was listed as an ingredient. Fortunately for us, the market for casual Mediterranean food in Austin is now thoroughly saturated with the arrivals and expansions of Cava, MezzeMe, Halal Bros, Halal Corner, and so on. With all these choices and Kebabalicious treating customers so poorly, I see zero reason to return and suggest that everyone avoid it. read more

Kebabalicious represents all that Austin food trucks are seeking in the "Austinite Dream"--starting as a mobile eatery, slinging out grub to inebriated patrons on the historic 6th street. In essence, they did the dirty work and heavy lifting to make a name for themselves. Now, as these college students graduate, they might move to the east side in order to feel important. Yet, they still crave the flavors and simplicity of food from the good ol' days. Not only is East 7th appealing to students staying in town... it also draws in transplants who are seeking gentrification. In most cases, it seems that "east" is associated with "ghetto." In steps Kebabalicious, aptly located on East 7th. With its straight-forward menu, adequate seating, and large portions (who can, in good conscience, want to finish 6 falafel or 1/2 lb. of gyro meat?). The real winners here are the sauces, which smother your choice of meat or fried chick peas--however you want it, whether in a salad or wrapped up. This brick-and-mortar, formerly food truck.... which obviously still have solid ground on 6th street, has staked its claim on East 7th, and it seems to me that they are providing quality kebab to a burgeoning trend-seeking population. read more

I will be back to try those fries! There spicy sauce truly lives up to its name, in my opinion. It has some serious bite and zing. This is for the brick and mortar spot on East 7th. I've come here a couple times since they opened and in general they are good at what they do -- fresh, hot kebabs at a decent price. I do not think this is primarily a sit-down establishment -- the inside seating area is tiny and not conducive to large groups. I think there is an outside patio but it's not clear from the inside how to get there, but I'm not a fan of outside eating in Austin 75% of the year. But I can run in, order, grab my kebab, and head out to a watering hole without too much hassle. My primary complaint is parking, which is nearly non-existent. This is the greatest obstacle for me becoming a regular diner here. That said, I'm sure that is beyond their control, and if you can find parking along 6th, you're gold. But it's that parking issue that drops it down a star, and it really is the only knock I can give this place. Again, the food is good, it is inexpensive for what you get, and is a good staging ground for the nearby bars once you lay a foundation in your stomach for all the drinking you're about to do. read more

We went last night. Parking was easy in the back or on the street. Delicious food - I got the Hutspa (best falafel I've ever had) and my husband got the spoiled brat. We got king size and they were huge!! My son got a chicken kebab and it came with fruit as a side. Unlike usual where it is canned, it was actually fresh fruit!! I first had this food at the food truck in November of 2013. Given, it was a late night after a bit of drinking, but I found it to be so good that I was craving to come back. A visit to the same food truck a year later confirmed my suspicion - only this time, I was stone cold sober. Since moving to Austin from Houston in January of 2015, I was well aware of all of the delicious food options that Austin had to offer that I could not get in Houston. Tacodeli, In n Out, P. Terry, et al. But this is the place that I keep going back to. I had subleased an apartment near 6th Street and I-35 and routinely would walk to the Kebabalicious on E. 7th to take in their delicious food. Whether it be the beef and lamb wrap (get it spicy!), the K-fries, the falafel shot or the saffron rice bowl (my new favorite), the food will not disappoint. The staff is always nice, helpful, and good spirited. I'd love to include photos with my review but I usually dig right in as soon as the food comes out. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Fill yourself with their vegetarian falafel wrap...it is surprisingly better than their chicken wrap. The regular portion is good enough but if your are very hungry go for the King version. They take several orders at a time before they start preparing and hence except a wait time of 20 mins before you can relish this awesome wrap. I ordered the "char-grilled chicken" wrap. The ingredients were not fresh, nor were they of high quality. The chicken tasted old, and there was little to no char flavor (or appearance of charring). I paid 75 cents to add pickles to my wrap, which wound up being lame sandwich pickles from a jar. Ultimately, I threw a solid third of the wrap out because as I ate and got less hungry, worries about getting food poisoning from old ingredients outweighed my desire to get my eleven dollars out of the wrap (and not waste food). Everything just tasted stale and off, if you've ever experienced this "flavor" profile you'll know exactly what I mean. The fact that this place can thrive in 2021 is evidence of a food scene that perpetually fails to live up to its reputation. Good halal food is hard to find in Austin, so save yourself the disappointment and go to Halal Bros a few miles away. They will freshly char grill a chicken kebab when you order for the same price. Never had a Kebab before. These things are pretty legit. I had a King size Beef and Lamb. It was a hearty portion a lesser man would have been full. But i am no such man. I also tried baklava here for the first time and it was really really good. The meat was tender, the spicy was smooth and predictable, and the vegetables and other stuff tasted fresh. It is pretty cramped on the inside so i felt like I was in everyone's way. The back patio was huge and had plenty of seating. 9/10 would come again. read more

I thought it was going to be a spicy sauce but they just added red chili flakes which I actually think altered the flavor and not in the best way. You get two choices of size. This place is right around the corner from my old apartment and I would always stop by at least once a week. The kebabs are absolutely amazing. They don't taste like the traditional Turkish Kebabs I had in Europe, but they are spectacular in their own way. This location is a small building with a couple tables inside and a large patio out back. They have free cucumber water inside, a few beer selections, and the cooks are extremely fast. I'm not a huge fan of the chicken here, but it's not a huge deal because if I order something that has it (My regular is the "Spoiled Brat") they will substitute it with falafel or beef at no charge. The spicy is JUST the right amount of heat if you enjoy truly spicy food, but I usually get the medium even though I do. The king size kebabs are a meal in themselves, you won't need a side. read more

Went here on a Saturday night because I saw they had a couple food trucks downtown but I didn't want to pay for parking. I've never eaten here but was craving some Mediterranean food. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had a storefront right down the road. I got the Spoiled Brat and my boyfriend had the halal wrap with the gyro meat. The food was truly delicious. I don't say this lightly, it was one of the best meals I've had, and definitely one of the best Mediterranean meals. I'm down in San Antonio but I'm trying to find excuses to come back. The server mentioned that this location has only been open 5 weeks. It's youth showed only on some of the finishes. There is a small eating area inside and a bigger patio outside to eat. The cupboards inside were missing doors and the menu was a little small and hard to read. However, the food speaks for itself. Really really good. Couldn't recommend it any higher. read more

Hmmmmm....where shall I start??!! Oh I know, I'll start by telling you how happy I am Kebabalicious now has an actual storefront where you can sit down and partake of their deliciousness and not have to worry about finding a parking spot. Though the restaurant itself is a bit small inside, the food makes you forget all about it. A very casual type of atmosphere with a few Texas things thrown around here and there but this is DEFINITELY a clean place. I can't tell you about the restrooms because....well, I haven't really had to go but I'm sure they're just as nice and clean too! The menu is pretty simple HOWEVER the food anything but simple. You can get a chicken kebab, beef/lam kebab or my all-time favorite, the falefal kebab which is an all vegetarian fried ball made from garbanzo beans. Inside this yummy thing are tomatoes, red onions, humus and some sort of messy, yet scrumptious red sauce. Along with all this goodness you also get great customer service all for a reasonable price. ALSO, the food is made with organic produce and ingredients. With regards to the wait time, I think that would all depend on what time of day you went but the wait is Ohhhhhhhh so worth it! Oh yeah, these are Turkish style kebabs, so please don't get it twisted and think they're American style shish kebabs with the lil skewers and stuff. ROFL I can't believe I wrote "twisted" and I also can't believe I'm actually going to leave that as a part of my comment. OK...I'm done babbling! Go there and get you some good food. We came to the storefront for the first time today and they did not disappoint!! The indoor seating was our only option as it is cold and wet today but they have a nice outdoor patio with lots of picnic tables, will be great to sit out here when the weather gets nice. We started with a falafel shot which was out of this world good! The falafel was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside and came sitting on top of a bit of tzaziki sauce and their own spicy red sauce, they complimented the falafel quite nicely. Next we tried the kebab fries and oh my god I could eat these all day, every day, SO ADDICTING. Extra crispy fries with their house made sauces on top and feta cheese..get your own because you won't want to share. The wrap I had was also off the charts good, it blew my mind so I don't remember the name!! Tender but crispy flat bread with beef/lamb mix, rice, spicy sauce, feta cheese, cool tomatoes and of course tzaziki sauce. They're just the right size, very filling. I'm a big fan of Kebabalicious! I often work out of Vintage Heart Coffee across the street and they are a really natural combo. Even though they're usually pretty busy around lunch time, they generally churn through orders pretty quickly. The beef + lamb kebab is amazing, but my favorite things are the zucchini fries and falafel. Also, I recently tried Kabaam sauce! so good! Last week I went in and they were (surprisingly) a little off their game. They were really slammed and made a mistake on the order in front of mine. It was a small mistake, and they gave the guy 3 vouchers for a free kebab to make it up to him. I was very impressed with the customer service. They also try and support and show camaraderie for the other businesses in the neighborhood by offering a discount for anyone who works within a 1-1.5 mile radius. We stumbled upon this place when the food truck we wanted to go to went MIA, but we were pleasantly surprised with our new find! I made my own peta wrap with the beef and lamb. I got the tzaziki and special red sauce (which is a house sauce made with ketchup and mayo and that's all the worker could tell me but I highly recommend it!!) and then I did the veggie add-on and got black olives and cucumbers. Our only complaint is that we went late in the night and the meat was a little dry. Also if you're looking for a side, the fries are where it's at!!
