GARLIC BREATH FOR DAYS!…read more But it's soooooo worth it. This has to be my fave yiros in Adelaide. Such juicy, generous, char grilled servings of lamb. Fresh and tasty across the board. Also pretty damn efficient service. Sadly the service isn't often with a smile, but you no what. I DON'T CARE! GIVE ME THE MEATY PARCEL OF DELICIOUSNESS. I will say that I'm always a little torn by the price. $13+ for a yiros is exxy... but they are generous serves and never disappoint so I forget my lost cashola pretty quick. Also, if you're not ridiculously hungry, order a mini yiros off the kids menu. $8 and still filling and oh so tasty.

(It's only a small stubble across Moseley Square.) They have the best yiros' going around and some pretty good chips to match. Perfect for that late night hunger craving! Or for a hangover fix the next day. They also sell burgers, skewers, salads, stuff for the kids, and premium or charcol yiros', all inspired by traditional Greek recipies with a hint of Australia. During the day there is seating to sit back and relax (or if the weather is nice, why not find a spot on the grass or down on the beach?), but I've noticed they block off the inside seating area when they are open in the early hours of the morning (probably becasue they know most customers are going to be drunk, loud, etc). The prices are pretty decent ($10-12.50 for a yiros - which are a good size). Please note, Souvlaki Bros doesn't have a close time, they are open til late every day.

So ill start this review by explaining that we were a group of starving adults roaming the town for…read morean hour, going from restaurant to restaurant unable to unanimously decide where to eat until finally giving up and stumbling into this little place. Can confidently say that i am glad we did. Let me start with the excellent service - we showed up at this restaurant 20 minutes before closing time and were welcomed with warm smiles and a simple yet friendly atmosphere. In our starving desperation, we shamelessly ordered an outrageous amount of food (double what was needed), all the while thinking surely this must be the friendly owners worst nightmare when they were clearly closing up shop. However instead of doubling over in cardiac arrest, the little man behind the counter nodded encouragingly and recommended appropriate sides. The meal was mostly prepared before us with the chicken and lamb skewers cooked to perfection over charcoal and the rice, salad and bread prepared in the back. Everything was served warm within half an hour. I have enjoyed Afghan Cuisine at several different restaurants, including much better known establishments and can say that the food served here definitely stood its own in terms of authenticity and deliciousness. Yes, definitely enjoyed every bite, from the succulent charcoaled chicken chunks down to the fluffiest rice i have ever tasted. All the while the owner kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything else. Stomachs full we mentally prepared for what we thought would be a wallet destroying bill. Instead our minds were pleasantly blown by how cheap the bill was and infact went back to confirm that he had charged us the right amount for everything we ordered. So there you have folks - Excellent Service, Amazing food and Awesome prices. It doesnt get better than that.

Without a doubt the worst take away I have had in the past decade (at least , maybe 20 years)…read more It took 2.5 have hours for the delivery, when it's located 8mins from my house, we kept phoning and were always advised the drivers 10 minutes away. Then the delivery driver called to say he's at our door but the lady doesn't want the food and where are we. He was in a suburb 30 minutes away. The Food arrived completely cold but, the temperature wasn't even the main complaint. The food had no flavour, looked like half eaten left overs and stunk, pretty much a dogs breakfast. So if you have a spare 2.5 hours and would like to eat a cold dogs breakfast I would recommend this to you, If not stay away. Since it was like a dogs breakfast i I tried to give some of it to my dog but, he spat it out and went out in the garden and ate some grass instead.

My Mother and I were in the neighbourhood and needed a feed. Yelp of course lead me to this fine family restaurant just off Goodwood road. Easily spotted with colourful signage on the road. Sumac staff are quiet, but are really friendly and welcoming. They are very happy to walk you through the menu if you are unsure of what items are. Some of them I had not heard of before. My Mum and I love to sample everything, and there isn't really much we don't like. So we of course went for the Shashlik Platter. It comes with three different styles of Shashlik, hummus, baba ganoush, home-made pickles, tabouli, salad with crispy pita, spiced rice and garlic sauce. All of that for $24.90! So awesome! We actually thought it would be smaller, so we ordered a plate of falafels as well. And yes, we definitely had stuff to take home. My fave on the platter was the hummus, pickles & chicken shashlik. All very flavoursome and well spiced. Wow, that garlic sauce is really intense, but also amazing on the pita bread. The falafels were fresh, but not as fluffy as I would have liked. They were full of fresh herbs though, so that made up for that! A huge menu to choose from, so be prepared to take a while to decide. You will really love this place!

Their new restaurant is quite big and full of space. It does feel a little sterile and non-homely but I do like the slight modernish interior of black vinyl and chrome seats and the sexy chandeliers with red fabric light fittings surrounding them. They even have some new flat screen tvs around the place and I think even LED screens for what will be the menu above the counter?? (Don't quote me on that last bit!) Bbq chicken with rice and salad. You can't knock that back for $10. It's a decent serving size as well. Some parts of the chicken were a little dry but it still tasted delicious! Mantu dumplings were pretty good. However since having tasted Parwana's, there is no comparison. Parwana's dumplings with that lamb sauce...zomg! Here the dumplings were nice enough but the lentils in the sauce were slightly undercooked. The staff were friendly and smiling and had a little chat about the move from South Rd to here. Hoping they do well at the new premises. If you are in the area and looking for a good and tasty cheap lunch, then this is your place! Bare in mind the wait times for meals to come out, you can't rush delicious charcoaled meats!

Their kebabs tend to be the most popular choice (lamb, chicken or mince: lamb is my personal favourite) served with rice, salad and sauces (a garlic type sauce and a chilli, tomatoey one) supplied separately so you dip or poor if over your food as desired. You can dine in here, but to me it's not really a cozy dining experience - it's definitely more of a take away place. The only issue I have with Afghan Flavour is the language barrier - it is honestly really difficult to place an order. I don't know how many times I've been miss understood (the food is worth the hassle, but it is kind of a Russian roulette ordering system unless you speak the language), so if you like a bit of excitement and don't mind being surprised occasionally by all means pop in and order in person. It's a lot easier if you are only ordering for one but as soon as start ordering multiples... Well that's where you will face difficulty. You can also order online - I have tried this once, which is why I am here this evening, to collect... I would have thought this would be a fool proof method in terms of placing an order... Somehow though, we still seem to be having difficulties. They really do try, they are really friendly and despite the constant mix up, I can't help but keep coming back. I just ask my husband what he would like and remind him not to get too excited because he may end up with something different... To be honest, if i could give 3.5 stars i would (3 isn't enough, 4 might be on the higher side considering the ordering difficulty) Maybe I should try writing my order down next time...
