Stopped in on a whim. Needed a pedi and was feeling like getting some coffin nails would be a good change. The olive oil pedicure was particularly nice with an added boost of moisture for the dry season. Everyone was meticulous, helpful, and did a wonderful job. I will definitely be going back. read more

Told to wait 40 minutes and someone would call. No call after 50 minutes. Went back and waited 30 minutes. One of the owners (a woman) has special customers who gives an inordinate amount of time and attention--in spite of a very long wait time. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a great deal of frustration and time. Go elsewhere. read more

Before I write this review I want to make it clear that I very rarely leave reviews, and usually I only leave positive ones, but my experience here was so bad I was fuming. I walked in to Ke Nails at around 5:30 pm on a weeknight for a simple manicure. They told me sit down and wait, it would just be a minute. Ok no problem. It wasn't very busy, but after about 10 minutes I noticed that there were 3 or 4 nail techs sitting there on their phones looking bored and doing absolutely nothing, no one helped me and I ended up waiting another 45 minutes. I thought this was incredibly unprofessional and was about to walk out, when the girl who initially told me to wait finally took me. The whole time she was taking her time with someone who clearly was a regular client there and were having personal conversations and laughing -- ok but why am I treated like an afterthought and you can't even tell any of your other workers to help me?? It felt like all of them couldn't have cared less about me. When I was finally getting my nails done, it felt like the girl was talking about me and laughing at everything I said with her coworkers. I did not feel taken seriously at all. I did not express any of my unhappiness at the time, but now looking back, I wish I did. Overall I just felt very uncomfortable and will not be going back ever. Too bad because I just moved to the area and was looking for a new place to give my regular business, but I will not be returning and I recommend you do not either. read more

I switched to this salon a few months back, as my last spa I would use was fairly pricey in comparison and would almost never have the time to take me. (I travel frequently for work and am home about three days twice a month, so having a reliable spot to get my nails done is very important) I would make appointments and would still wait up to 30 minutes to be seen once entering, but wasn't ready to give up somewhere that seemed to always take me eventually when I arrived. This last visit was my final straw. When I walked in the shop was slow for once, and I was seated immediately for my usual fill. This time though, I was told that I needed a whole new set (I had ZERO broken nails and it was about 11 days since my last fill, so nothing over the suggested 2 weeks). The woman who usually did my nails proceeded to PAINFULLY remove every nail and replace them with new nails, causing me to not only be close to TEARS in the chair, but to be there for almost 2 hours. (For reference, my hands have tattoos on them so my pain threshold there is fairly high) Although I would wait before, this last visit was just too much to justify wasting more time and money here. It's a good place to go to on a Sunday when the other salons are closed. I chose this salon as a last resort because nothing else was open, but I'm definitely satisfied with the service. Spontaneously decided to get pedicures and got the $50 one which isn't a bad price for the service and time it took. Comes with a leg mask, scrub, clean up, callous removal, massage, and hot stones. They also have a timer set up so you know you are getting the correct massage time and not getting juked out of your service. Also, at the end of our service, we got back massages while our toes dried at the drying station. My only thing about the salon was that it was a very hot and humid day and they left the doors open which made the salon a bit uncomfortable to sit in for a long period of time, they also had most of the lights off which made the salon very very dark. I've been coming to Ke Nail & Spa for years, actually, since they opened. Today was the final straw. One word to describe this place: unpredictable. I just finished getting a gel manicure. Not only was I sitting in a dirty chair from the lady before(nail shavings everywhere which they didn't even bother to brush off), but the whole thing was rushed. No cuticle care at all, and when I had asked about it he told me I didn't need it. And that my friends, is exactly what is to be expected from this spot. I went here for my first time this past weekend as I was in need of a shellac manicure and a pedicure. I was able to walk right in, and was taken for my pedicure immediately. There is a wide variety of colors to choose from for polish- which was very nice! The pedicure was amazing, and even though more people began to show up as I was there, I never felt that my service was rushed. The shellac manicure was also a wonderful service and as I was doing the last few rounds of the Light on my nails, they gave me an excellent massage. I will definitely be back! read more

Went in for a manicure and ended up also getting a 30 minute massage. Both were excellent. The lady doing the massage got to all the critical areas before the 30 minute time was up, which isn't easy to do. The manicure included a mini back massage AND a paraffin dip, which was a freebie I've never had in the few nail salons I've been to before. 30-min massage was $25 and the manicure was $13, reasonable prices for SE CT. To start, I made an appointment four days prior for an acrylic fill and my friend to get a manicure and despite that we still waited a half an hour. When they finally got to us they were rushing so much it was uncomfortable to even be there. I've had acrylic nails for at least five years so I know the process by now, they not only skipped several steps but my previous nail color (black) was all over my skin and under my nails from them rushing to take it off. They then start to take out my new color to paint my nails despite there being black remnants everywhere. I ask if they can remove it first and as if I'm crazy she tells me no. Although I understand Black is an unforgiving color I've never left a salon with remnants of the old color still present on and around my cuticles with a new color, even when I've had black before. The owner was beyond rude to me for even asking and made it seem like it was my fault I chose black before. So now I get to go to a friends wedding this weekend with dirty, grungy looking nails.. thanks ke! read more

This is the best nail salon in Southeastern Connecticut. It is clean, the staff is super friendly, and they do great work! I love their pedicures, fills, manicures, and massages. I've been going to Ke Nails every 3-4 weeks for a gel manicure for about 8 months to a year. This past weekend was the first time I wasn't happy with them. My mistake was to think they would just redo them. They said maybe I did dishes and ruined them and wanted them redone for free, when I called the owner the next day. I said to her my nails are uneven and the French Manicure line was uneven. I didn't ruin them and expect anything done for free. I asked for wider white tip line. She couldn't understand me. I said can u do a little wider line please, she said whiter ? Then brought over another white polish saying Whiter ? Language barrier for sure. I called the owner who told me to come back to get them redone. Today In front of others, as a regular customer, to be bashed,embarrassed, and made a scene in front of everyone was disappointing. They lost a customer and is now getting this review. True colors came out and unprofessional behavior when it mattered. The only reason I am giving two stars is because I got a fill about 3 weeks ago (gold color, first pic) and it was great! I'm pretty sure I had Ke? and she did an amazing job with shaping my nails without excessive drilling/filing. I was so excited that I finally found somewhere that did a great job. BUT THEN.... I went in for a new set less than a week ago because my nails have been on for over a month and the majority of them had come off. I didn't mind waiting a little bit because I knew last time my nail came out amazing but I ended up waiting 40 mins. I ended up getting a guy who completely ruined my view of this place for his carelessness. There was still three nails that were on, but coming off and he ended up keeping them on. I told him I want the shape exactly the same please....It just got worse after that. He was careless with everything he did. My nails were uneven in length, there was stuff alll over my cuticles. When he was drilling he was way too heavy and I had to pull back more than three times. Again with the filing of the side of my nails, TERRIBLE. I pulled back even more times. He ended up filing the sides until they were RAW (they just stopped being sore). There was nail polish everywhere, polish messed up, build up everywhere, my cuticles looked terrible. If I wasn't already late for something, I would have not paid for these nails at all. To top it all off, less than a week later, I have lost one nail and I have another that is about to pop off. Are you kidding me?!?!? These nails are so beyond what is not acceptable. I do not recommend this place unless you have Ke. Never. Again. read more

Will not ever go here again. Use the clippers and other utensils TWICE that I saw. Disgusting! Real way to get infections! Double dipping and more using the stick to apply wax. VERY WRONG! It took them a while once I was in the chair to get a nail tech to start my pedicure. I wish they had given me a time so I would have known how long the wait would be. The pedicure itself was a good one. She did a great job on the massage. I feel it is overpriced though. I used to pay $22 in San Diego by the beach for a spa pedicure and they charged me $30 plus tax. Didn't feel it was worth that much. Overall good experience but pricey! read more
