I had been looking for an electrician but it's always difficult to choose one. My light switch stopped working and light fixture was permanently on as it no longer would turn off with the switch. I had assumed it was a fairly easy job. I first saw another company mentioned on the Nextdoor app with a handful of good reviews. I reached out to them via text and they were really responsive at first. I sent photos per their request and then the communication died - they ghosted me. I figured it might just be too small of a job but hey, you should just say so. Enter Kean from KD Electric. I started to see multiple positive reviews on the Nextdoor app. He was really easy to communicate with (I used text), text me his estimated arrival time, did quick work and was friendly. I'd use him again and recommend him to others. Right before he left, he noticed another light switch of mine (not the one he worked on) wasn't sitting properly on the wall. The fact that it caught his eye told me he's likely very meticulous in his work, it's the kind of person who pays attention to detail and that you'd want working on your house. I've had Kean take care of a couple minor things; installing an EV charger and installing surge protectors for my split ACs. He was awesome. This past weekend I lost power to half of my house. After Heco came out and told me it was my problem I immediately contacted Kean. He sent out Kaluna right away and also showed up to assist. It was a tough job due to my complex electrical setup. After a few hours they located a split wire hidden in a beam, great find. They had it fixed and cleaned up within the day. Kean and company are great. I'm happy with the service KD Electric provided me. I had them do an electrical system and panel check on my home for my insurance company. On the panel a number of suspect CBs were replaced and bus bars redone to get rid of double-tapped connections. Communication on their part was great, price qoute was reasonable, and the scheduling/work completion was on time. No surprises and the service done left me feeling good and assured. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Very uncommunicative, has not gotten back to any of my calls. I had agreed to help this company but got shafted and wasted my time. I'm still owed but have not been able to get a hold of the supposed owner/ boss of the company that goes by the name of Kean. I definitely wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and would also suggest checking to see if they are licensed, bonded and/ or insured. Cannot say enough positive attributes of KD Electric - reliable, professional, efficient, reasonable, and trustworthy. I had a malfunctioning light switch in at the front door and a bathroom exhaust fan switch no longer working properly. I tried to change out one switches at the door and had no luck. Since we both live on the hill of Makakilo, he stop by on his way home just to take a look and give estimate. In less than a few days he came back, fixed the light switch and changed out the entire exhaust fan assembly. Brendan and he had everything completed in a couple hours.
