Best prices by far and I priced several places. Excellent customer service and really nice family-owned operation. Highly recommend.

We had friends who purchased a Jacuzzi from Recreation Wholesale in January 2025 and referred us to…read morethe company. Being as they had already done a lot of research into the K.C.-area retailers, we decided to visit Rec Wholesale ourselves in fall 2025. We weren't quite ready to make a purchase during our initial visit, but we were impressed by the value offered by the Harmonic line of hot tubs that Rec Wholesale carries. (Jacuzzi has a great reputation, but we had different needs than our friends.) We went back in January 2026 and looked at the options we'd reviewed previously. We also visited another retailer in K.C., and we ultimately did a LOT of our own online research. We decided to buy a Harmonic Model 277 6-person hot tub. We made the choice based on the fact that the Harmonic is made in the U.S. and, thus, had no tariff issues. It also had very positive reviews from people in the hot tub industry despite it being a newer brand. (We relied heavily on information via several Hot Tub Owner Groups on Facebook and Reddit. The people on those platforms are VERY opinionated about their preferences but offer a lot of useful advice.) Tariffs issues aside, we felt the Harmonic brand offered the best value compared to the other hot tubs we had narrowed our choices down to in terms of pump + jet power. Plus, Recreation Wholesale included numerous extras that the other retailer with whom we were comparing units did not offer, specifically a cover, cover lift, and steps. The Harmonic unit also had exterior lighting, which was not a need-to-have but definitely a nice-to-have in terms of offering a safety benefit for night-time use. And, as mentioned, the Harmonic unit not only had more jets than the other similarly priced hot tub we were considering, but the jets were more optimally located and impressively powerful. The final reason behind our decision was the impressively long warranties (by several years), along with delivery within a few weeks. Speaking of which, the hot tub was delivered yesterday by an efficient two-man crew (led by Logan) who impressed us with their knowledge of every aspect of the installation and their willingness to do everything in their power to meet our expectations. We got detailed instructions on chemicals and advice on how often to replace the filters, and more. Last night was our inaugural dip, and we feel extremely good about our purchase! BTW: Over the past year, since our friends purchased their Jacuzzi from Rec Wholesale, they have experienced no issues and use their hot tub almost daily. I know they would give the company a thumbs-up as well.

We need a new hot tub cover as the other that was 5 years old started retaining water and the cover…read morelift broke due to how heavy it was. We ordered and paid for a new cover and lift on September 2nd and have yet to receive the new product or installation. We were advised it could take 3-4 weeks. After 4 weeks passed we were then advised our purchase didn't make it onto the truck but hopefully we will have in the next couple weeks and should make onto the next truck. We've followed up multiple times and keep getting the same message waiting for truck to fill up and your product should be on it but no guarantee. What kind of timeline, customer service, or expectation is this? My husband was last told that we can't even receive a refund because it's a special order. Very frustrated and not happy with this experience at all!

I have been calling this the "new" HY-Vee since their recent remodel. It has a brighter "feel" than…read moreit had in the past. And with their separate area for their grocery pick up service, congestion has been reduced in the parking lot. I do appreciate their drive through pharmacy as it also reduces congestion inside the store. And a high score for me is that their gas station carries "No Alcohol" fuel (premium pumps only) for the better health of my vehicles fuel systems. On to the store. The demise of their Market Grille was a loss that could be seen coming. When it first opened it rivaled many area sit down restaurants. But as others were opened the original manager was reassigned and service and food dropped off in quality - and continued to drop. It has been replaced by something called Wahlbuger that lacks the menu and service of the past. Their prepared food (I think of it as a cafeteria) has a few highlights like breakfasts and reasonable BBQ (in Kansas City "reasonable" far outweighs very good in most of the rest of the country), along with prepackaged fruit. Starbucks has a stand in the front of the store with all their usual offerings, but across the isle at that snack bar, coffee is available at a much lower cost, and in my opinion, with much better taste and free refills. But to each his own. The Pharmacy is yet another high point. I like the fact that they will send texts when a prescription is ready and that you can manage your prescriptions online. During high demand times they provide curbside flu and COVID-19 shots. I have always found the pharmacy staff to be professional, friendly, and helpful. Smiles can go a long way when you are picking up a prescription called in by your doctor - you likely are not feeling your best at times like that and I appreciate their understanding. I have always found the store clean and well stocked. Their selection is equal or better than other area stores, and their butcher shop staff always goes out of their way to assure you have the most desirable and affordable cuts of meat. Throughout the store the staff is almost always available to assist in locating hard to find items. But being an "Employee Owned" business there appears to be a pride in being part of the business. I like that. Understanding that this is the highest trafficked store in the chain, they still are able to move customers through very efficiently while maintaining good attitudes and customer service. That all said, my opinion is that this is the best (or at least my favorite) Hy-Vee in town.

I shop here only for a few items and only because of the proximity to my home. Overall, I don't…read morenecessarily like Hy-Vee, it seems that their store has not gone out of their way to retain my business any meaningful way. My biggest critique is your signage is typically wrong on your sale items. And then when I try to get them to honor or adjust the price to match the advertised price, they make me feel like a I am in the wrong and that I'm trying to rip them off when they are the ones who set the sale price.
