Terrible customer service! We spent around $15,000 on windows and doors. We have called several…read more(5+) because we don't have a screen for one of our windows still after 7months and the openers for the casement windows! When we call the main office to talk to someone they continually refer us to our rude salesman! Would never buy anything from them again. Update: After one of their associates saw our reviews someone from Kansas City Building Supply called and ordered us our screen and said they have the openers at their facility. We are happy to get results, but it's too bad that we have to go through social media to get results.

Needed a cubic yard of 3/4 rock for a DIY drainage project in our back yard (which equates to 50+ bags from a home improvement store, typically at least $2 each). We rented a truck from a nearby "Home" improvement store, drove to JCBM, paid for the rock and had the truck bed loaded in less than 10 minutes, and were on our way...thus saving ourselves about 30% (not to mention multiple trips to the store). We happen to only live a few miles away, but if we were any further away or needed more rock, it would have made economic sense to just pay for delivery based on crunching the numbers.

The assortment of random rare wood pieces was the most surprising, yet the board selection is formidable. I bought an ice-cream scoop kit that demands you build it a handle; made a handle for it out of some 25 year-aged osage orange I had sitting around. The kit broke in like 5 ways, so... I don't know, still a great place for wood working enthusiasts. Tools galore, they have so much to play with in there; honestly, first time in, and I spent more than an hour walking around and touching things. They also have a great email system set up, so sign up for that. The location is a little Narnia-esq, what with the lefts and the rights and the straights, and don't get me started on the parking. The lack of care of medical and religious background for the employees must be hard and sad. Not to mention they tried to be "slick" with how much they pay. They want the employee to disregard their religious beliefs/medical advice from doctors for pay less than $17 dollars with no guarantee of additional sales add on. It doesn't matter how much knowledge, training, or licensing and certifications you have to work there! If you have a beard you will not be hired unless you cave to their peer pressure and do it. It's the 21st century someone with facial hair can be more loyal and respectful and get the job done better than someone with no beard. I was given the job but told to go home and shave! Well thanks for the offer but my religion believes hair is sacred and we don't shave just a clean trim up. OH and you work outside so if you ALSO have tattoos on your arms you have to wear a long sleeve doesn't matter if it's 100 degrees outside. The army was more lenient and respectful than this company.
