I had him re grout my patio then clean and seal it plus some fire pit work and I could not be happier with the results. My patio looked brand new by the time he was done with it like it was installed the day he finished! What I was really impressed, with and this is hard to find these days, is the fact that he literally does the job like it's his own patio! On top of that he is very professional and clean! No sign of any mess left behind and on top of that he's very easy to communicate with and responds in detail with any questions you may have! Of all the jobs I have hired people for throughout the years Sal is by far the most positive experience I have had! I will definitely be hiring him for any service I need that he covers down the road and I highly suggest you do to!

The project took about a week to complete, which was faster than initially expected, and the quality of the work was exceptional. I've been an architect for 30 years so I've inspected a lot of construction work and I can honestly say that the retaining wall exceeded my expectations in every way. I expected to get a replica of the original wall but got something far better in both appearance and quality. The team of masons were courteous and finished the project without skipping any days. They also cleaned up every day and left my yard cleaner than they found it when the project was finished. All of my immediate neighbors have complimented me on the wall and I expect to get many more when boating season on the lake begins next May. I solicited multiple bids for the wall project and selected AJ Masonry because they were the most informative and responsive to changes related to the Lynn Conservation Commission and Building Department. They were not the lowest bidder, nor the highest, but they were worth every penny. I can highly recommend them without hesitation.

Inside the fireplace, grout had all but disappeared on the back / angled wall and several fire bricks were loose. Timeline of events: Sent an email to Ben with pictures and a description of the problem on a Friday at 3:12 PM. He called me at 5:15 PM that evening asking if he could visit to see the job and offer me an estimate, he came by at 5:44 PM, and after reviewing and carefully describing the work needed to repair, he offered his proposal which I accepted. AND the VERY NEXT DAY, a SATURDAY mind you, he and his son arrived at 8:00 AM and the job was completed by 3:00 PM. So literally WITHIN 24 HOURS Ben The Mason had responded to my request, came by to see the job, offered a quote, and did the repairs. The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and I am very impressed with the service and craftsmanship provided by Ben The Mason. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Stan came over, saw my situation and right away knew exactly what I want. He saw that it was very narrow and said he can make it a little wider. While he was there, I mentioned that I want to have my foundation wall finished with stucco. He told me he has a guy who can do that too. Well, I got a couple of other quotes from others and I knew after that Stan was the right guy for the job. His numbers are very reasonable and I can tell he knew what he was doing. Stan has a great crew who showed up early and worked professionally. Good guys! The stairs, landing and the masonry work came out perfect!

He quickly gave us a very reasonable estimate and provided us with lots of info regarding our options and how we could customize it. He worked hard (in humid weather and rain!) and his crew was always polite. The end product is exactly what we wanted. In fact, better than what we expected because he added custom extras like a curved cut-out area where I could plant a garden. We're in love with our new patio. I would recommend him to anyone needing work done on their home and wanting a true professional with extremely reasonable rates.

Matt is the best communicating contractor I've met so far. This is one of the best parts of this…read morekitchen remodel project. I've contacted at least 7 or 8 contractors before finding Kitchen Tune Up with Matt. Previously I could hardly even get a ballpark quote, never mind a detailed quote according to the scope of work. Matt was able to get that to me in a week that included everything we talked about. Another convenience is that its price includes cabinets. Almost all the previous contractors said they only quote me the job but I have to go find and buy my own cabinets. There could be more options if you go to a cabinet dealer, but I was able to find the cabinets that I'm happy with from the Kitchen Tune Up selection. The quote and final price was all very reasonable. Matt and his team are courteous, professional, and effective. The team has a great chemistry, which is always important for getting a project done well. They set up dividers and floor covering to keep everything as clean as possible, and also clean up after every workday; and they are not noisy since my husband and I work from home. They are very helpful to answer questions, and flexible to work around issues and requests. Schedule wise it was very efficient. Groups of workers showed up and finished on all the dates previously scheduled, no endless delays. Matt subcontracted the floor repair for me, which is included in the quote. It was a bit tricky to work on my tiles but in the end the tile floor came out nicely. Matt also contracted electricians (Wetmore Electric, separate review on them), which is quoted and paid separately. But two teams worked well together. I did find my own guy to come in during an in-between week to do a separate wall/ceiling repair and painting job (Atmosphere Painting and Plastering, separate review on them). Matt as able to schedule his team around my schedule, too, which I really appreciate. The final piece was I had a matching countertop that is to be moved and cut and reinstalled on a new base cabinet. This piece took a long time. Because the job was small, the countertop company didn't want to spend the time to come to pick up the granite. So Matt's team did the extra work to bring the countertop to them, have it cut, then bring it back to install it themselves. Even though this is not their usual job, the work came out beautifully, including covering a weird corner that has a funky whole. Again, Matt's team is amazing, I would recommend them to anyone who wants to do a kitchen job of any size.
