Family fun at the Kayuta drive- in

Yum! The onion pepper burger had roasted red peppers that were sooo good. Food was great, but I was really there for the ice cream. Don't forget the hot fudge.

Menu!

Family run since 1963, burgers, fried standards at this roadside spot are right on the money. And don't forget the soft serve!

Foot long with sauerkraut, fish sandwich

Good for a quick bite. Average diner or bar type of food. The foot long hot dog was pretty good. Fish sandwich was average. Everyone was full and happy with the meal. Service was pretty good. Ice cream was our favorite part. Will definitely give it another try when in the area and see if we get a better vibe on the second go round.

Metal umbrellas!!!

Let's get this right out of the way: Kayuta's is a roadside stop with a terrifying clown motif. Don't say I didn't warn you, Muncho, the clown is everywhere. Terrifying clown motif aside, this roadside stand is a classic throwback to another time. Pulling up, you expect to be greeted by Bobby Sockers and Greasers. We pulled in to grab a cone, and were seduced into splitting a fried fish sandwich. The fish had a satisfyingly crunchy coating with a fresh and moist center. The ice cream is your typical soft serve. But enough about the food, you know why you really stopped here. You stopped for the childlike joy of rainbow sprinkles, for the roadside picnic tables with metal umbrellas, and most importantly, for the luxurious feeling of those carefree and endless days of summer. PS Don't say I didn't warn you about Muncho the clown.

I like this place. Great prices, classic food and feel. I'm tired of the homogenous franchise sameness all across our land. I like unique local places like this. Even the owner is hanging out and working. Don't miss this tasty place.

We stopped here on our way to the Adirondacks at a friend's request. I am not sure what this place's obsession with clowns is but there were clowns painted/printed on everything....a little creepy. Once inside, you will see that Kayuta is a very no frills, home style cooking type diner. I tried their special that day (fried chicken). It came with potato of choice (I got mashed) and corn. The corn looked quite under the weather....not acceptable during corn season. The mashed potatoes were a little dry but were enjoyed by another friend. The fried chicken was definitely above average and I would get it again. Someone at our table got spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was bland and watery. The last person ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and she absolutely loved it. It looked very greasy from my perspective but I didn't try any. We sampled their pecan pie - it was average (but a little dry). Overall, I wouldn't stop here again unless I knew they had that fried chicken on the menu that day. But if someone requested to stop here again, I wouldn't make too much of a hullabaloo.

There are lots of clown themed items at this fun drive in.

Ice Cream and service was not the best that night but sometimes what makes a place great is how issues or when problems arise how it is handled. Management came over to make it right. Top notch service and am looking forward to coming back with friends for an evening of treats and games.

So, me and the family went to check it out Mother's day but the line was long and we didn't want to wait for basic Ice Cream so we left. We decided to come back the during the weekday and there was no line. We walk up to the front and take a look at the menu and realize they have way more than "basic ice cream," actually there's nothing basic about the ice cream or the food! I got a Grasshopper pie cone and it was crazy good. It had mint chocolate chip, my fave, and brownie pieces. Drooling looking at this thing! My mate got an ice cream sandwich and the dope thing about their ice cream sandwiches is that you pick the ice cream and they make it on the spot! I also ordered a half pound cheese burger with chili, xtra pickles, lettuce and tomatoes. The bun was toasted, the meat was good, seasoned and juicy, the lettuce was fresh and the pickles were huge! I couldn't finish the whole thing, but my mate took care the rest for me. We both thought it was really good and this might be one of our summer go to when coming in this area. The place can be easy too pass because it's further back off the road but you can't miss the sign or the crowd in the parking lot. There is plenty of parking and seating for the family, along with a nice size lawn so maybe a blanket could be thrown down too. The staff is nice and the prices were really good. $15 for a 1/2 lb burger, 2 scoop cone and an ice cream sandwich. We all were happy with the taste and price and we will be coming back often.

They didn't sell any ice cream but they told us about What's the Scoop. We walked down a little ways and ran right into it. It was busy! So many people out enjoying the night and their sweet treats. There were a good amount of tables to sit at. I appreciate the big umbrellas! You can enjoy your cold treat without the hot sun beating down on you. There were big menu boards and lists of ice cream available. There are so many options! There's ice cream, Dole Whip, milk shakes, sundaes. So many goodies to pick from. There was also a non dairy cookies and cream available. The cherry Italian ice listed so that was my pick. My daughter got a small scoop of brownie batter. I ordered a kid's scoop of the cherry Italian ice. Holy cow! I thought my daughter ordered a double scoop but it was their small portion. My kid's scoop would blow competitors out of the water. My scoop was huge for a kid's scoop. In most ice cream joints, my scoop would be considered a small. The brownie batter was very chocolatey! It was very creamy was well. The cherry Italian ice was very vibrant in color. It was also very flavorful. We sat at a cute table on the sidewalk next to the street and enjoyed our goodies. This town is something you see in Hallmark movies and this ice cream joint fits right in it. It's cute, local and they serve some yummy goodies. The staff is really sweet. It's hard not to fall in love with this place. I look forward having goodies here all week.

The area does get packed. It is a pet-friendly area, which is good. Overall, a nice ambiance. My aunt did feel it was more on the pricier side which is why I deducted a star. The great thing is everyone enjoyed the ice cream, we just wish the ice cream was homemade.
