This was his first time paddle boarding and my second time. Mac, our tour guide was so calm and great at showing us how to stand that we felt like pros in minutes!! My first try at SUP and was surprised I didn't fall off! Cody was my instructor for the Saturday morning lesson/tour. He gave our group (4 of us) a quick lesson on how to get on the board as well as the different techniques needed to stand and paddle. We took a nice "stroll" down the Salt Run as Cody explained some history of the area. The weather was perfect which meant the water was calm. We stopped mid way to take a rest and were provided with some water. Then it was time to head back. The tour lasted 1 1/2 hours. I of course wished for more! It was so peaceful out on the water that I didn't want to leave. This company has many different lessons/tours you can take including kayaking. You can also rent the equipment from them if you want to go out on your own. Be sure to tip your instructor/tour guide at the end! read more

My entire experience from start to finish with these guys was perfect. I called to book due to the website instructing me to do so and they discussed with me the wind possibly causing a reschedule but I decided to go for it anyways. The instructions in the confirmation email included parking instructions as well as clear instructions as to when and where to meet. Once we arrived we met Garry, Jaden, and Mack who were all very fun and nice. Jaden was our guide and was amazing. He was the perfect balance of present and helpful but not overbearing or bosy. We were able to mingle with the other people and go where we wanted (within reason). It was a really wonderful experience. They all do the little stuff that makes all the difference. Really happy and got to go home with a beautiful shell and a cute Polaroid to remember the wonderful experience! :) Looking forward to touring with these guys again! read more

Great experience all around! Kayaks were in great shape and the location right next to the nature preserve made for some great sightseeing of local wildlife. What impressed me the most though was the staff's passion about stewardship of the environment. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife habitats and gave us some great recommendations for where to see nature at its best. The company canceled on me without notice. I showed up early in the morning and no one was there, I found out later that the company canceled the night before due to weather. The owner refused to communicate with me. As a 6th generation native I can honestly say there are better things to do with your money in Saint Augustine than these tours. read more

Had an awesome time on the 90 minute stand up paddle board tour this morning. Kayak St. Augustine offers this tour daily at 9AM and it is for beginners. I was nervous as I'd never tried SUP before, but Doug was a great guide who offered helpful tips and was willing to assist in whatever way possible. He had a waterproof bag with him for car keys, etc. and some water for us, which was nice. It was rather windy so we paddled around a calm inlet after we got our bearings. We saw some cool wildlife - manatees, jumping fish, egrets, pelicans and I saw one loggerhead turtle pop its head up for air. The area was really peaceful and pretty. We made our way back to where we began after about an hour or so. We needed the extra 30-ish minutes to paddle against the wind to where we started! All in all, a fantastic morning. Now I'm eager to find a place to rent SUP boards back in Cincinnati! read more

What a wonderful experience I had. Everything from booking my reservation, the clinic on how to Kayak, and all the way thru til my time was up was peaceful and well thought out. We unfortunately had an unprofessional experience. We rented kayaks from the owner and he asked us to meet him near the St Augustine lighthouse... With no other instructions. We rode around for almost half an hr trying to find him, no sign, no address, no clear instructions. We called, spoke to him and he still didn't offer clear instructions so finally I started naming landmarks to try and figure out this puzzle - I had to basically direct myself. We arrived very late and when we finally found the owner, he refused to rent the kayaks to us. All that time and effort and this was not the experience we were hoping for. My advice? Rent from Dave at Island Bikes. Great folks over there! read more
