I went to Kay because its close to home and the same owners as Michelle's on Cuthbert. I hear amazing things about them, but the wait is always too long there. My first visit to Kay was iffy and that should have been enough to keep my away. I walked in right after they opened and no one said anything to me, but they looked at me. I sat for 10 minutes before someone checked on me. I should have walked out. I got a pedicure and dip manicure. My toes still look great and the dip last about 3 weeks. They didn't break or chip and felt great. I just went in yesterday for a dip manicure. I was taken right back to a station. The tech used the dremel until my nails were white before she foil wrapped them. It was hot and I kept trying to pull away and tell her it was hot. Then she just grabbed her stuff and walked away to work on someone else. It wouldn't have been a problem if she told me she was leaving, but I sat there for another 10 minutes with no one saying anything. Once she came back, she continued to use the dremel. It just got dust from the old polish everywhere. She nicked my skin a couple times but again did nothing when I told her. She was rough when actually dipping my nails in the powder and pretty sloppy. I didn't notice all the old red color left on my nails and around my cuticles until I got home and was willing to put up with it figuring it would wear off eventually But nails are so thin and brittle now. Two of my nails have broken off completely and both my pinkies have cracked down the middle. The glossy top coat does't reach the edge of the color on any of my nails. The red from my last manicure is on the edge of my nails and then the dark green/gold color i have on now is on my skin. I will never go to Kay Nails again. Such a waste of time and money read more

Fantastic overall experience. Anna did my gel mani removal and a fresh gel mani $25. I came on a Saturday morning and while the salon was very busy and full (always a good sign) I didn't have to wait. Kay's gel color selection is great, too! They have OPI gel polish. Anna used only a file too remove my old gel and never a spinning power tool which can damage nails. She was friendly and even chatted with me. She had extreme attention to detail and my nails turned out beautifully. Thank you! I will be back!! read more

I had been going to Kay's for the last 10 years and was always pleased. There used to be a sign saying Speak only English which I did not see this time. There were technicians talking with each other 5 stations away, which is annoying no matter what the language is being spoken. I had never gotten GEL mani's or Pedi's before and so was unfamiliar with the process. I was chastised for not knowing to put my shoes on as I trying to gather my purse, drink and phone. I told her there was water on the floor and was afraid someone may slip. She repeated "shoes, shoes" while doing my pedi she grunted and pushed and pulled my feet to where she wanted them. The manicure was worse. I yelped (no pun intended) when she cut my nail to which she said- why yell? just nail. I tried to explain to her that she had cut the undernail. I couldn't wait to speak with the manager and get out. The manager was no better just saying "so sorry" and taking my credit card. I told her this was the worst experience I had and she said "New Management" which explains It all! I wish I knew where the original management went as I will never return to this establishment. My guess is that the real reason for the pitiful customer service has more to do with a language barrier. I know English is a terribly difficult language to learn but you can't understand your customers unless you can understand your customers Sadly disappointing. I used to love it here but in the last 6 months I've have had some terrible manicures here. The service also seems to be going downhill, as I felt SUPER rushed while picking colors and while my nails were getting done on my last two visits. My final straw was a dip manicure that chipped the night I got them done. There's much better salons in the area that charge the same amount and give much better services. read more

My sister goes there and i was visiting one day i went with her and my niece. they do an amazing job!! My gel manicure last 3 weeks. The last time i was there i had cracked my big toe and the nail was broken, without me even asking and at no extra charge the nail tech fixed the nail with acrylic. Have I never done a review here? At the place I go every 2 weeks...at least. This is my go to shop and one of the reasons I don't want to move!! Kristi is my girl and she really knows her stuff, not to mention she's funny and sweet and easy to talk to but doesn't care if you don't feel like talking either. On the rare occasion that she's off or overbooked all the other girls have done great work. Cindy and Annie are awesome too among others whose names I don't remember. They have recently remodeled so all the pedi chairs are new. They also do waxing and their prices are very affordable compared to other places I tried before I found them. The place is almost always packed and they have a lot of regulars. You can't go wrong with Kay's!! read more

Let me start off by saying that i did read a lot of the mixed reviews for this place before going. With that being said, i went this past weekend & will not be returning. What i liked: -Super easy to make an appointment, the technicians were very friendly, and there's a huge parking lot out front (unlike my normal place). What I didn't like: Everything else. -My friend and I both got the same manicure, acrylic tips with a gel polish, and our nails look completely different. Also, my manicure took over an hour, while hers only took about 30 minutes. -My pedicure was the most painful experience of my life (boiling hot water & my feet were scraped and scrubbed so hard, it hurt when my feet were put back in the water). -Eyebrow waxing was so painful that i almost screamed out like in The 40 Year Old Virgin & i have a pretty high threshold to pain. read more

ive been going here since i was little, and was always satisfied. unfortunately lately i have been EXTREMELY unsatisfied. it been about 5 different occasions where ive gotten my nails done and found something wrong. ive also recieved attitude last time after i asked the lady about the unwanted change they made to my shape. hopefully im the only unsatisfied one. read more

I am very picky with how my nails look and Tracy did an amazing job. The gel polish on my nails are all even with the line of my nail bed and I have been to many salons and many times and it's usually very inconsistent. I am definitely going back again to Tracy. read more

I am so unhappy with the experience I had at this nail salon. I got dip powder for the first time and chose to go to this nail salon because it got good reviews. The lady who did my nails was extremely rough and made my cuticles bleed. She made the color extremely thick on my nails and it did not look right at all. It looked like I had acrylic nails on shorter length nails. The whole experience felt rushed. I ended up going back to have them try and fix it. Another women who worked there filed down the thickness of the nail polish. it still did not look right after she was done. It's a shame I had to spend 35 dollars on a botched manicure. I've been going to Kay's for quite a while now. It's the first place I've found that does such a great job on my gel manicure that I'm happy it lasts for two weeks. The prices are really great and they almost always have a coupon in the local mailer. My daughter sees Mai faithfully and absolutely loves her, and I've been seeing Annie, who is great as well. We couldn't be happier with our experience and would, actually we do, highly recommended them to everyone! read more

Yay! I just moved to Haddonfield a few months ago, and had to (unfortunately) part ways from my favorite nail salon. With that said, I gave Kay Nails a whirl this afternoon and loved it! A girl named Mai did my nails, and they're nothing short of perfect - she understood everything i needed, conversed the entire time i was there, and also shaped my eyebrows perfectly. It was slow for a Saturday, but the other nail techs were just sitting and chatting, yet were funny and talkative to me, and all together the place was comfortable and definitely affordable. So sad, I go here often and I just came home from getting the worst manicure ever! The nail tech was very unprofessional. She did a horrible job painting my nails and ran off to a new client before I was able to walk over to the drying area, no goodbye or anything. I asked what color my polish was (bc it wasn't listed on the bottle) she told me to take a picture of it and take it to the store, bc she "only knew the names of her favorite colors". When she was running off to her new client she reached over me and nicked my nail, messed up the polish, and walked away like nothing happened! I miss the old management, they were better in my opinion. I won't return, and currently taking off this horrible polish job, painting my nails myself, not fun. read more

I don't get my nails done often (I work with my hands and usually destroy a manicure in less than a day, so it's not worth it). So when I do, it's a special treat for me and I look forward to a good experience. I was completely satisfied with the manicure I got at Kay Nails. It's a cute and comfortable little salon with a very friendly staff and a chill, hometown atmosphere. The woman who helped me (I didn't catch her name, unfortunately), was very nice, chatting about my upcoming wedding, school, and her children. Another employee who did not have a customer at the moment also hung out. I enjoyed a comfortable, relaxed chat while my manicure was done. This included a hand massage, hot towel moisturizer, and of course trimming, shaping, and a lovely color for my nails! It came out beautifully, and helped me to feel "bridal" at my shower the next day- all for an EXTREMELY reasonable price - even on a student budget. I'm not one for frequent manicures/pedicures (I've only had a handful in my life), but I went to Kay's the day before my wedding and couldn't be happier with my choice! Unlike many salons I've visited, they didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing the lingo/techniques, and they happily helped me select an appropriate color for my gel manicure. The manicure was quick and very well done, and my pedicure was similarly fantastic! My one complaint is that I was placed by the dryer following the pedicure and no one ever returned to check on me. Being a relative mani/pedi novice, I wasn't sure what to do and had to ask another customer how long I should sit there, etc....Other than that one little glitch, I had a wonderful experience and I'll definitely be back! read more

My daughter got a manicure for her prom last week. The manicurist sliced her finger and the blood kept shooting out. To push her along, the manicurist decided to seal it with GLUE! Yes - GLUE! My daughter's finger swelled up like a balloon and now she has a bacterial infection that had to be treated by the pediatrician. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They lied to me, the mom, that they even used glue at all. And to make matters worse, another girl used this place and ended up in the hospital with the same situation but 10x worse this weekend. Do not use this place. It should be shut down by the board of health. I honestly don't know if they even sterilize their equipment. They can't if two teens on ONE day got sliced and infection by them. read more

I've been going to Kay's nails on Crystal Lake Ave, Haddonfield for years now. They have always done an excellent job and are always very clean. Although, lately I have not been that happy with my services. I am a regular mani/pedi customer, I do not see a particular provider but I have to say the last 3 times I have been there (with 3 different providers)I have gotten mediocre service. The foot massages have been lacking almost to the point of non-existent. At my most recent visit the provider massaged one foot but just put lotion on the other no massaging and she completely forgot to give me a hand massage during my pedicure. I am writing this review because I do like going there but if this continues I will be finding a new place for my services. I am still giving 4 stars because they are nice people and it is a clean environment. I am hoping this review helps the owners to give their girls a pep-talk about giving longer, better foot massages. I know that is what I most look forward to during my pedicure. read more

I just left after having a gel manicure done. The color was globed on very thick causing it to wrinkle on all but 3 nails as it dried. There was also a 1-2mm gap left between the color and my cuticle looking as if it has been a week since they were done. I was so annoyed and the place was so warm that I wanted to stay no longer and would rather just re-paint my nails myself. Terrible job. Will never be returning. read more
