My husband had first purchased a diamond ring for me in 2013 , along with insurance that covers free lifetime cleaning and inspections. In order to have my diamond guarantee in effect, I must have the inspection documented every six months. Yesterday, we took it in for its inspection and we were pleasantly surprised by the quick, friendly service. Not only did she do a thorough inspection of my treasured ring, she offered to clean the other jewelry I was wearing! She tried her best to get my necklace cleaned in the machine that not only heats and vibrates the cleaning liquid to provide a lasting shine, but also used a brush to manually scrub off years of accumulated dirt and grime. It took buying my ring twice and having it repaired before I finally received an acceptable purchase. I ordered a ring for Mother's Day and it arrived a few days before. I opened the package at home and right away noticed the genuine garnet gemstone looked scratched. I looked at it in different light trying to see if it was just a hair or smudge. Finally I contacted Kay. I was told I could return it and reorder it. I brought it into the store to have it checked and it turned out there were multiple scratches on the gemstone. I returned the ring and foolishly reordered it. When the new ring arrived, I had it shipped to the store because I did not want to take it home till it was checked. I went in to pick it up and sure enough, there was a scratch on the genuine blue topaz and a couple of the stones looked like the edges were unfinished. I was told I could return it or I could PAY MORE to have it sent to jewelry repair through Kay. I made the comment that I did not want to pay to have something fixed that shouldn't have any issues in the first place. The employee spoke to her manager and said they would not charge me for sending it for repairs. I was told my ring would arrive on June 11th. On June 10th I called just to see how everything was going. I spoke to Nasara who was extremely rude over the phone and basically said they didn't know what was going on with it because the jewelry repair shop must be closed for renovations. She said they had no information for me and repeatedly asked, "so what do you want from me?" Finally, I got an email, over a week later, saying that my ring was ready to be picked up. When I arrived at the store, I waited at the counter and a woman came over to me. She asked what I needed and I told her I was picking up my order. The woman was extremely rude with every interaction. When I looked at her name tag, it turned out it was Nasara. Just my luck. She was annoyed that I wanted to look at the ring under the microscope. She made the comment that when rings are worn they tend to get scratched and I explained I had never even worn this ring before. I was excited to finally get my ring and she put a damper on it. Ultimately, the customer service from Nasara was awful, but Erica, Carrie, and Beauty did a great job. I was so disappointed this was the ring I was getting back after two months of waiting when all I wanted was for it to be resized. If it couldn't Be done I wish they would have informed me of the situation and let us know and I would of went else where. Also the fact that we wouldn't get the ring back in time for us to move off island. Marcus the manager apologized for what happened and offered to replace the whole ring since it could not be salvaged. I appreciate this but it still saddens me it won't be the original ring I was engaged with. Had a bad experience hear the whole process but thankfully Marcus was able to help us out. I went there to make a Diamond L shaped nose ring and after 6 months and 4 returns they STILL didn't get it correct AND then wanted to charge me MORE to get a larger diamond which I didn't even say what weight nor size when I first ordered it. They made this nose ring a year for me so knew exactly what I wanted but couldn't even reproduce what they made. The WORSE part was the lack of communication. I would have to call EVERY time to find out what is going on. I'm only giving one star for the service I received at the time we ordered to resize my ring. Kudos to Marcus & the two (I forgot their names, one was pregnant at that time & the other one was a guy) that helped us ordering it, awesome service. 2 months later, I came to pick up my resized engagement ring. The worker at that time was Sheree. She seemed a little frantic off the bat, hoping to sell something I guess & get paid commissions for it but that gave a weird vibe to begin with. When I gave her my fiancé's last name, she couldn't find it & I was literally only there to pick it up & while she waited for my fiancé to pull up an acct #, she already seemed very impatient & trying to rush me out the door. I get that it's your process to confirm the person who bought the ring & having someone else pick it up other than the purchaser, but really? Do you have to show your impatience? I felt the attitude from her once she couldn't find his last name. You're in customer service, do better. Idk if it's a slow or bad day, but do better. Instead of attracting customers to the business, it's driving business away from Kay's. All in all, I liked the service better when ordering rather than picking up the resized ring. I went in to clean my ring on 1/15/24. Nusarra (I think that's her name) helped me and asked me if I needed my ring inspected. I told her she can check my records to see if I need one, but told her I had it inspected in 2023 but wasn't sure if it was more than 6-months ago. According to their records, the last inspection was in 2022, about 18-months ago. I disputed that because I know I had it inspected in 2023 at the Pearlridge store. Nusarra told me that had a diamond fell out, I would have had to pay for it because their records show it's been 18-months since my last inspection. Moral of my much too long review is to make certain you check that the person inspecting your jewelry enters it in your records. Marcus, I'm very disappointed with today's experience at your store. Nusarra probably meant well, but she came off being rude and did not make me feel as if she was trying to understand that I did bring my ring in for an inspection. Although she said it's my responsibility to make sure the person inspecting my ring is entering it in my records, I believe they should know to do it. So I have been a die-hard fan of Kay Jewelers since 2015. I've been to locations all over O'ahu and Kaua'i and I am never disappointed in their service or the quality of their products. I've had such a wonderful time at this location due to one particular worker: Tylor. My other half and I have seen him many times; sometimes for jewelry, sometimes to just chat with him because he's such a pleasant and supportive person. Tylor has helped us when we were: (1) picking up online orders through Kay's website and (2) when we were picking up promise rings together. NOW, this was a long process. My other half and I had done intense research into promise rings, prices, styles, etc. and we still had no idea of what we wanted for each other. Luckily Tylor was there! We went in one evening and spent roughly two hours looking at three sets of rings - all recommendations from Tylor! He picked a set of gold, silver, and black (tungsten or platinum??) for us to try on. We talked over the pros and cons of each set. TYLOR WAS SO PATIENT. So so patient with my other half and I as we debated rings. Not once did we feel pressured to buy anything. On top of that, Tylor had our best financial interests in mind. He understood our budget and didn't see us as dollar signs. We ended up leaving with a set we absolutely LOVED. We were educated on the materials we bought, manufacturer and Kay warranties, sizing, etc. I would also like to note that Tylor put a ring sizer (?) on my ring because it was a half size too big (and I had to wait for the right size to come in). Tylor went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable wearing our rings for our everyday lifestyles. I am so grateful to have had an excellent jewelry-buying experience that I plan to hold as my highest standard of customer service. I had bought an engagement ring with my account I hold at Kay Jewelers. When I came to pick it up. I was told even tho the ring was purchased with my account. I couldn't pick up the ring. Due to my name not being on the receipt. Then after that frustration. After waiting for them to decide what to do they again offended me by trying to give me the ring without the box when I had just purchased the ring. The service here in beyond disbelief. After all the money spent and they can't provide decent service. That to me is something in this industry that should not be done. I don't understand all of the negative reviews on here being that I've always had a positive experience everytime I walk in, so I decided to write a review myself. The first time my husband and I came here was at this Pearlridge location over a year ago back when we were searching for my engagement ring. Our two children was also with us. We were helped right away by a tall, white guy with shoulder length blond hair (sorry, kinda forgot his name), who was on crutches at the time and according to him, was also recently engaged. Anyway, he asked for what we were looking for and so I told him: a chocolate diamond set in rose gold. He immediately took us to the LeVian display case. He educated me on the brand and what having that type of ring meant or what type of bride I was (which was spot on btw) while keeping the kids entertained as well by talking to them, asking them what they wanted to see me in and just overall getting them involved in the whole buying process (which they could've easily gotten bored just waiting on the side) all the while showing me and my fiancè at the time a few pieces, which were beautiful, but nothing really caught my eye until he pulled out a ring that had just came in and wasn't even on display yet. I just fell in love with it. I immediately knew it was the one when I tried it on. Then, it came time to talk about the price. Unfortunately, when we read the price tag, it was out of our range. It was just more than we were willing to pay or could finance. The sales guy saw how disappointed I was and called, Don, the manager. They were both so nice and they felt bad that I had found something that I loved, but couldn't afford it. They took one look at our family, the financing paperwork and was like I can drop it down for you and showed my fiancè and I a price that was significantly more manageable. Needless to say we bought it right then and there! Over the course of the past year, I've gotten my ring cleaned (always free even for pieces that you didn't buy from Kay) while paying my bill. Honestly, there were a few times that I had to wait for a longer period of time than I normally did, but it was because all of the sales staff were busy with other customers. I was always told that someone would be right with me. In the meantime, I just browsed around to keep myself busy. I am ecstatic to say that my ring has been paid off in what seems like a rather short period of time. More recently, we went in last month at the Windward location and my husband bought me an early Christmas gift, a Movado watch. We were helped by a young local woman this time and the service was still great. No pressure to buy at all. My only gripe is that I went to the mainland shortly thereafter and the cost of the same watch was half the price up there (I should inform you that it was a Movado outlet store that I saw it in not another Kay), but this is Hawaii-- prices are always inflated! Oh, and while I was in the mainland, I visited a Kay there and ended up purchasing a LeVian tahitian pearl necklace and earrings with a mix of both vanilla and chocolate diamond accents set in yellow gold for a steal! I got both pieces for cheaper than the price of the most expensive piece, so it was like one was given to me for free. My mother, who was with me, also purchased herself a sapphire and diamond ring. A young asian man was helping us and he was very patient, sociable and quite friendly. So, overall, my experiences at Kay Jewelers were fantastic. I REGRET buying my jewelry here! Staff here aren't friendly, they didn't seem to appreciate me spending my money (a lot of money) at Kay's. Walked in and waited about 10 minutes (there was 2 employees) an staff (a lady) was helping a customer while another staff (a male) was helping her. All he was doing was bagging a item and pretending that he was doing something (cause he even looked up and didn't acknowledged me) he even passed by me not offering any help. When the customer infront of me was done and it was my turn the staff (lady) didnt say one word. I told her i needed to pay my bill. At the end all she was concerned was to get rid of me. At the end of the transaction she just walked away. There was no "thank you, come again" or a simple "thank you". my husband bought my engagement ring from the Kaneohe location a few years ago buy initially went here but they were soo rude to him that he ended up at the Kaneohe one but that's another story... My husband got insurance on the ring which requires me to go in every six months to get it checked and so far in the 3 years that I've been going there not once have they been nice...I would go to the Kaneohe one but dragging my kids out there would be a pain... also they offer free cleaning with purchase but every time I want to get it cleaned they seem annoyed ..don't offer the service if you don't want to provide it! if you want something from Kay's I suggest going to the Kaneohe one and letting the sale reps there get the commission not the ones here ...they suck! read more

Came here to get my rings sized and wasn't really impressed. Stood at the store for a good 10 minutes before I was helped, and was told they would be ready by the 8th at the latest, but probably sooner, and they'd email me as soon as they were ready. Weeks pass and the 8th comes and I hear no word, so I called them. The first call they said they were set to arrive after noon, so I waited. By 5 I still hadn't gotten an email, so I called again and was told they they had received bunch of packages and were sorting through them at the moment and to call back tomorrow. By that point I was annoyed, but things happen. So I waited half a day the next day, before calling again. This lady finally finds my rings, and told me I was emailed the day before. I told her no, I had received no email (hence my call), and she argues with me, saying I was emailed. I pick them up and the woman who rings me up is a a different person than the phone. In a nutshell- we paid for our bands in full but cannot take them home! At first we thought we had gotten a good deal when we took advantage of their sale! We were told we'd receive a phone call within a week when our bands were available, after they were resized. 20 days later, after not having heard anything, I called the store to get a status on my order. 15 minutes and several "on-holds" later and they could not find my order. I am happy to report that within the hour we received a call from Michelle that our bands were ready for pick-up. Hooray! Off we went. Once at the store we were told that although we had already paid in full (sale price) we could not take our bands home with us. It seems that since the sale was over they could not process the order in the computer system. We were told that a message was left 10 days ago and we should have picked up the bands then. We did not receive said call/message. Michelle gave us our choices, 1. pay more or 2. wait until the next sale came around and pick them up then. Both being an inconvenience, especially after being specifically told that they were ready for pickup. Luckily, the next sale is before our wedding so I will be heading back next week. What would they do if my wedding was before their next sale date?! I would have appreciated a disclaimer at the time of purchase stating that the sale price would not be honored if not picked up by a certain date. We will not be returning to this location or possibly Kay in general. Also, it is rude to mumble under your breath as we walk away that we could always just get our money back. read more

I just went to get my ring inspected for warranty. I waited at least 30 mins before I was helped (holiday season), so I understand. I walked in before a lady and another family. BOTH were helped before me! Only 1 out of the 6 associates noticed that I arrived first. When I FINALLY got helped, the associate did the inspection and cleaned it but AFTER didn't even ask if I needed help with anything else!
