My technician was accommodating, but the issue for me is much bigger than the technician. I went in for their Monday/Friday special and was steered toward a different neurotoxin than the one I originally booked. What wasn't clearly explained to me were the parameters of the special. I ended up paying more than expected and didn't realize I hadn't received the promotional price until I got home and actually looked at the numbers. I also had a $50 credit from a previous consultation. During that visit, I wasn't medically cleared by the person handling the consultation, but since I was already there, I was offered a very quick technician appointment for $50. I was told that amount would be credited toward a future service. What I wasn't told was that I had to use the credit within one month. Had I known that, I wouldn't have agreed to the appointment. Unfortunately, they refused to apply the $50 because it was past the one-month window. And this isn't the first time I've tried to find a reasonable solution with them. Another time, I purchased one of their packages but ended up having to go out of town for work, so I wasn't able to use the package within the promotional timeframe. I completely understood that the original deal had an expiration date and wasn't asking them to honor the expired promotion. I reached out afterward and simply asked if I could use the face-value amount I had already paid toward another service instead. I was more than willing to forgo the original deal and just apply what I had already spent as a credit. They wouldn't budge -- not even a little. What really bothers me is the lack of willingness to find a reasonable solution. I'm not expecting a business to ignore its policies, but there should be some level of customer service and discretion when a customer is trying to work with you in good faith. After realizing I'd also overpaid for my most recent service, I called to explain my frustration and was again told there was nothing they could do and that I needed to send an email. I'm still waiting for a return call from corporate, so I'm hoping someone there will actually take the time to listen and address what happened. At this point, I've lost hundreds of dollars here between credits, packages, and pricing issues, and I don't feel like there's anyone actually advocating for the customer. I understand businesses have policies, but good customer service is also about communication, transparency, and trying to make things right when something wasn't clearly explained. After multiple experiences where I've tried to be reasonable and meet them halfway, only to be met with a hard "no," I've reached my limit. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

Dr. Kay was absolutely awful to me and it was the worst experience I've ever had in a doctors office. I literally left in tears. He also refused to see me or speak to me about this when I asked to have a moment with him (post situation, explained below). I can't express how badly he made me feel as a patient... as a human. The disregard he had for me in general is insane and I'm EXTREMELY happy that I did not have to go forward with my operation under his control. This was a blessing in disguise. I went in to get a cyst removed from my lip. I had gone in for a consultation about a month ago and he could not have been more kind. He said he could remove it with ease and slice right on my lip line for minimal scarring. He said to come back when I had a good amount of time to have stitches in my face. I knew what the post operation scarring would be like and I still chose to go in. That didn't eliminate my nerves surrounding the surgery however but I was still okay with moving forward. I showed up this morning for the removal and was greeted by a very kind nurse and a recent graduate who was shadowing him. As Dr. Kay came in, he seemed a bit rushed, asking the nurse "What are we doing?". She explained the operation and I said out loud (my mistake) "I'm a little bit nervous this morning". He said, "what about?" and I responded "Just a little nervous about the surgery and scarring". He responded directly to the nurse, "Cancel it" and he walked out the door. As the door was slowly shutting, I said "Wait, I don't want to cancel it, I'd like to move forward with it" and as he walked out of the room he yelled back "nope." Both the nurse and the dr. shadowing just stood there. I could see Dr. Kay standing at the desk outside my room as the door was closing so I said again, "can I please talk to you about this" to which he yelled to his colleagues still standing next to me "Come out here and close the door". Those are the only words Dr. Kay spoke to me. The entire interaction was no more than 2 minutes. My intentions were merely to express emotions about the fact that someone was about to slice my face open and remove a cyst and then sew it back up with stitches. That's it. I wasn't saying I was second guessing it or anything, I just expressed my nerves for the surgery. I imagined him being a kind doctor that would say "totally understandable" or "nerves are normal". Nope, he had no patience for me at all. I left shaking and crying and feeling so little, so unimportant. I walked out of the office and after collecting myself, I chose to go back in and asked to speak to him directly (SINCE HE HAD NOT DONE SO BEFOREHAND). He hadn't explained why he wanted to cancel it, he hadn't explained why he felt uncomfortable moving forward, he did not care about my at all. This was further proven when I asked the front desk if I can speak to him privately for a few minutes and he REFUSED TO SEE ME. He's such a coward. So instead, I had to speak to an EXTREMELY KIND woman from the front desk. I wish I had grabbed her name because I can't thank her enough for just allowing me to express my feelings about the situation. Something Dr. Kay had no time for. She got my frustration when it should have been Dr. Kay who heard my words. After being asked to go into another room and being told that Dr. Kay wouldn't have any time at all to see me (although he was about to just do an intense surgery on me that was cancelled so seems like he would have had the time) she said that she would pass along anything I had to say. So, in case she wasn't able to get Dr. Kay to listen, I'd just like to say to you directly Dr. Kay, all I needed from you in that moment was kindness. That's it. To look at someone who was about to trust you with this operation and to extend a bit of kindness towards her. I'm not angry that you didn't want to move forward, I'm not angry that you cancelled it, I'm angry with the way you treated me. You refused to speak to me, you refused to see me, you refused to explain your logic. You dismissed me, you were angry with me and you spoke to me in a tone that brought me to tears. I'm not sure what you were going through this morning but I hope that in the future you can still find the ability to be kind to those around you. We've had a very rough few years, the entire world has. We need to remember that our action affect those around us. Your words and the way you treat people, matter. I'm very thankful this morning happened before going under the knife and I have ZERO intentions of ever returning. However, to the very kind woman that stood there and listened to me and my frustration through my tears, thank you. That's all I wanted. You were kind, you were understanding and you took time out of your day to listen to words that were meant for someone else. Thank you. read more

For starters, I have been a loyal patient of Kay Aesthetic for the past six years. I have been going for a service that I have always paid $150 for with Nancy. I had an appointment today and showed up on time. I sat in the treatment room for 40 minutes. When Nancy finally arrived, the first thing she said to me was "What's up with your insurance?" I said I don't have any, which she's always known for the past six years. I have always paid out of pocket. She said we have price change and left the room. The assistant comes back in and tells me I would have to pay a total of $500 for services that day because they raised their prices. I said you couldn't have told me this when I made the appointment or while I've been sitting here patiently for the past 40 minutes. She's like yeah well it's going to be $500. I said I can't afford that. I took the time off from work to come here, which means I'm losing money and you want to tell me at the last minute that I have to pay an extra $350 for the same treatment I've been getting for the past six years in which I've only paid $150? She could have cared less. I literally had to take the hair net off and leave. While I was leaving, the assistants were asking me where I was going? I said I can't afford this. There was another patient standing at the receptionists desk while this conversation was going on. Do you know how embarrassing and humiliating this was? The receptionist felt really bad and tried to help me. She totally agreed and said she would talk to the office manager. When I got home, the receptionist called me and said Nancy was going to call me later this afternoon. Needless to say, Nancy never called. The least they could do was let me know ahead of time that prices were going up so I didn't have to waste my time coming in there to be completely embarrassed. With the economy being as bad as it is, it's shocking that they would even think to fleece patients. It's obvious they don't care about repeat clientele. They only care about the buck read more

First of all, I think there needs to be some clarification on the "free cosmetic consultation". A cosmetic consultation involves discussing the right COSMETIC procedure to best suit ones COSMETIC needs. I went in for a COSMETIC consultation regarding my ugly double chin. I wanted to find out about liposuction (a COSMETIC procedure). Dr. Kay explained thoroughly and professionally his recommendation to COSMETICALLY enhance the one thing about my appearance that I absolutely loathed. That cosmetic consultation was free. I have since had the liposuction and I cannot even express how great I feel about myself. The procedure was easy and painless and Dr. Kay and his support staff were kind, sensitive, and very professional. I have also gone back to see him for more derm-related issues (skin rashes, acne, keloids, moles), and of course, a charge was then incurred. My insurance was billed, I was informed completely about my financial responsibility before any treatment was actually performed. I highly recommend this office, and think Dr. Kay and his staff are topnotch. read more

Dr. Kay is a wonderful doctor. My family, friends, and colleagues have been seeing him for decades. The office manager on the other hand is overbearing, mean, and forgets we pay her salary. I went in to make an appointment with Dr. Kay for my annual skin cancer screening. Jessica the office manger said "I need you to see his daughter instead." I wasn't comfortable being told not to see my doctor of many decades, or being ordered to see someone I wasn't comfortable with from past experience. My needs didn't matter, and how dare I have a say in my own health care. I asked to speak to Dr. Kay about this and was told in no uncertain terms that I could not I could not. I came to Kay to look into some rough spots to see if it was skin cancer. I worked with Anna. She is confident, pleasant, and knows what she is doing. After she treated some rough patches on my face, we discussed how I used to have fuller lips and as I age, they tend to be thinning. I let her know if I had fillers that I did not want duck lips and just want the lips I'd had in my youth. She said, I totally get it and proceeded to not only give me the lips of my youth, but also reduced the appearance of a scar I am very self conscious of by using a conservative amount of product. I am posting photos after the light bruising had faded. I am very pleased with my natural appearance. I highly recommend Kay Dermatology. read more

Other patients were also complaining about the long wait. I overheard an elderly couple sitting in front of us mention that they had a 10:15 a.m. appointment and were still waiting close to 11 a.m. What made it even more frustrating was that the doctor didn't even acknowledge the delay or apologize for keeping us waiting so long. Based on my experiences over the years, this seems to be an ongoing issue with the doctors' time management and appointment scheduling. I understand that delays can happen in a medical office, but consistently running behind schedule and making patients wait over an hour for a follow-up that lasts less than a minute, without even a simple apology, is frustrating and unacceptable to me. Apparently, though, this seems to be acceptable to them. Patients' time deserves some consideration, too. Looking at past reviews, it's clear that this culture of running late has been going on for quite some time at this establishment. It's disappointing to see no effort to improve despite the feedback, and it shows little respect for patients' time. I was actually checking out their October cosmetic procedure specials displayed in the waiting room and was interested. But after yesterday's experience, nope. They're not getting my business again.

I recently switched to him from another dermatologist who I just didn't even feel was paying attention during my regular skin exams and with the type of skin I have I can't risk that. Dr. Ashley took a close look at it, asked me if I had touched limes recently and been out in the sun. Sure enough I had - it felt like an episode of Dr. House! Such an obscure diagnosis but he got it right away. It was the most satisfying doctor's visit I've ever had. I selfishly hope he doesn't retire for several more years!

I live in San Diego, and it's the worst drive, almost 3 hours each way with traffic, but I make it every time because the way Narine makes injections is the next level of talent and skills. I get fillers in my cheeks, Botox in my forehead, and last week for the first time in my life I got fillers in my lips. I LOVE the results!! My biggest worry is that I would look like one of those overfilled Real Housewives, but that is NOT a concern if you are in Narine's hands. She is SUPER careful, very conservative, and she is exceptionally precise in where she places the filler. She will also never oversell you anything. For example, when I first asked her about lip fillers, she looked and me and said "you don't need it, I'm not doing it" Ultimately she agreed to just do half a syringe spread among my lips very conservatively for some of the age-related lost volume. I feel like she bought me five years of age reversal with just that!! I'm posting pictures: the after picture is today, taken just now; the before picture is from 2022, and I honestly feel like I look younger now than almost 5 years ago, thanks to Narine. I highly highly recommend her!!!

Dr. Yun gave me really helpful info on anti aging skin products and IPL to help my rosacea. Fast forward to 2026; the office started offering Sofwave treatments for collagen building & skin tightening. I stopped getting filler several years ago, but I am always interested in ways to combat age related collagen loss. After a really detailed consultation with PA Charlotte, I scheduled a Sofwave session with her. I requested numbing on all the areas to be treated, so l arrived in time to sit with the cream on for 30-ish minutes. Charlotte was SO detailed & patient, she mapped all the areas (brows, cheeks, jaw, submentum) with marker & showed me how she planned to lift areas. She gave me a tube that blew cold air to aim at the areas while she used the Sofwave wand. And she checked in with me throughout the treatment to make sure I was comfortable. 95% of the treatment was so painless, I could have fallen asleep! The 5% of time that I felt anything, at the very edges of my jaw & on one spot on my brows, it felt like quick stinging sensations - but way less than past laser hair removal. Still, numbing is the way to go imo haha. I had no swelling afterwards & only a little redness; I felt totally presentable to be out in public. As I drove home, I telt like my face was tighter already - but I also was still numb, so I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination. I had taken my own selfies before I headed to the office, so l took directly after selfies when I got home. I was super happy to see that I could see immediate results when I stitched my pics side by side! I shared my before & after pics with my friends & they could totally tell too. I look refreshed, for sure. And full results don't even happen for 4-6 months, because collagen will be rebuilding during that time. I don't know if my immediately noticeable results are typical, but l am now a big believer in Sofwave! I've been telling my friends about it - and about Charlotte! I have a note to myself to schedule a follow up with her in 4 months, to see if I want another session or just come back for annual maintenance. I highly recommend Dr. Yun & PA Charlotte! I'll be back for an IPL soon too!
