The Farmers Market is not large but it is loaded with local produce and other culinary items. Jan was very excited over what they had to offer, espically when she saw the purple hull peas. I'd never heard of them. She was even more excited when she found them in the fridge already hulled. We ended up purchasing tomatoes, green tomatoes, okra, peaches, purple hulled peas, butter beans and cantaloupe. We also bought a box of WhistleStop (one word) breading mix for the green tomatoes. We fixed green fried tomatoes as soon as we got home. They were excellent. The cantaloupe was excellent. The east Texas peaches were excellent. The okra, peas and beans are in the freezer.

Most bbq places don't focus on the bread and theirs was so fresh and tasted wonderful. The shop was amazing too. The peach pickles are so good that we bought some. I had never heard of Ham Orchards prior to a group of Yelpers setting up a UYE here recently. It's…read morea nice little spot to have some fairly good BBQ and as others have mentioned, shopping for a lot of goodies containing peaches. I'll go ahead and get this out of the way: You can't actually pick peaches here, presumably due to legal. But they do have times where berries can be picked, although we didn't do that on our visit. Upon arrival, we were hungry, so we headed to the BBQ window, operated by area BBQ provider Eddie Deen. The sandwiches themselves were quite good, with a special nod to the peach pulled pork sandwich, which was outstanding. A generous portion of distinctly peach infused but not crazy sweet pulled pork was piled atop a fresh soft bun, it was a delight to eat. Unfortunately, the side dishes were very pedestrian and almost seemed like they were prepackaged or from a foodservice provider. But definitely get that sandwich. Moving into the store, there are tons of products available, including the incredible peach pickle slices that were served with the BBQ (great way to market the product), we picked up a package and have been loving them at home. But the best product we tried, hands down, was the peach soft serve, and I mean, it was fantastic. Impossibly smooth, delicious flavor, definitely on the sweet side. If anyone from Ham is listening, though, let me offer a bit of advice. You are seriously missing the boat by not offering a smaller serving of this stuff. GLP-1 and other factors are leading many to try to eat less and keep the treats to a manageable level; offering a "small" that's literally half the size of the current smallest offering, at 2/3 of the price, would help people with their portions and help you guys print money. Seriously, this would be a great addition to the lineup. Bottom line, it's a cool place to take the kids and most of the adults, and if you want to get your peach on, it's the place to go.

***Update to reply to management: Consumers should be able…read moreto make informed decisions about what they're purchasing especially with the recent Cyclospora outbreak affecting produce. My issue is not that the berries are repackaged nor is it about whether berries are in season locally. My concern is the lack of transparency. To me, the presentation and lack of labeling/pricing feel misleading as a customer. For example, if commercially grown berries (such as pesticide heavy Driscolls) are repackaged into open fruit baskets and sold in a store called a farmers market with no labels, pricing, signage, or disclosure of their source unless someone specifically asks, a customer could assume they're locally grown. (I'm using Driscoll's only as an example as again, I have no idea what brand you actually sell.) There's also a food safety concern. Repackaging produce into unlabeled containers removes Traceability customers rely on. If a specific lot was recalled because of an outbreak, how would customers know whether the berries they purchased were affected? I don't work for the Texas Department of Agriculture, so I'm not claiming any of these is a violation but the lack of transparency could raise consumer protection concerns. At the end of the day I simply believe customers deserve clear information about what they're buying. I hope this helps. * Original review: Super disappointed to find out the berries on the table by checkout are not local farms but instead Repackaged Driscoll or local Walmart strawberries / blueberries / raspberries ): what the heck! They're in open plastic bags in cute little baskets

And if you're worried about gluten free options, do note that many of the stuff put out as gluten free has either been labeled incorrectly or has cross contamination (I have seen them touching other baked goods that were not GF). The inside has a cozy cabin feel to it, though certainly is on the colder side so make sure you have a cardigan, sweater or coat handy. I ordered their toffee nut latte with 2% milk and avocado toast. The total came out to $15 which blew my mind because the toast alone would cost that much anywhere else in Dallas. The toast was made with all fresh ingredients and was very filling. Even though I added everything bagel seasoning it still needed a bit more, so when I got home I added some chili crunch for extra oomph and it was perfect. The latte itself was just ok, pretty mild in terms of flavor...not sure if it was due to my milk or flavor choice as I normally order hazelnut lattes but wanted to try something different. Nonetheless I'm happy I came and look forward to returning, as they have so many other things I'd love to try.
