Do not use Pa'A Hana Towing. They charged us $1570 for a tow and then did not tow the car. He…read moreshowed up in a pickup truck and I was confused because we hired him to tow the car to Lihue. My wife and 2 kids were there alone, so I was talking to the owner, Chason Manoi by phone. The car was disabled with a transmission problem. Chason was able to get the car into gear, but the dash screen showed a warning message that the transmission had a problem and not to drive it. Because of the dash warning, I insisted that Chason either tow the car or follow my family from that remote location to Lihue, since it was a transmission problem and could happen again. Chason promised that he would follow my family in the car, but then broke his promise and immediately left them alone, far from a town, in a car that was still broken. He stopped responding to texts and calls and kept the $1570. He never gave my family any receipt or paperwork, as required by the agreement I signed when I prepaid for the tow. The Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection sent them a demand letter, but Pa'A Hana Towing ignored that too. I don't usually leave reviews and have never left a negative review, but Pa'A Hana Towing was so dishonest in the way they treated us that I feel I have to... so that it doesn't happen to other people.

Being stranded is never fun, but Carlos made us feel safe and taken care of the moment he arrived. We were driving through Waimea Canyon when we got a flat on our rental and there was no spare tire in the car. With zero cell reception, we had to hitch a ride to the landline at Kokee Lodge. After waiting over two hours for no-shows from both AAA and the rental roadside line, I decided to take matters into my own hands and called Kauai Towing and Hauling. I was so thankful when he answered the phone. Even though the lodge had closed and we were stuck outside in the cold and dark, Carlos kept his word. He warned us it would be a drive, but he showed up exactly when he said he would to rescue us. He was efficient, treated our vehicle with care, and was genuinely a kind person to talk to during a very stressful moment. If you're looking for a reliable professional who actually cares about people, Carlos is the one. Five stars isn't enough!
