I have used this company for a number of years and the quality of service and personnel has only gone up. My valuable carpets both antique Pakistani Northwestern Frontier, made out of antique silk fibers, a Chinese one, and a Bahktiari, were all restored to a wonderful quality. We experienced a catastrophic water leak with significant damage to our home. As soon as First Onsite was notified things transpired with tremendous urgency. The water mitigation process was nothing short of a full court press. All of the water damage was terminated within three days. The reconstruction phase had a few hiccups due to supply side issues but the end result was nothing short of spectacular. We hired these fellows to caulk our tub and clean and seal our tile. They were very professional throughout the whole process. I have to say this wasn't going to be the best review but this company stepped up! Here's the deal, I had some water damage in my house there on Kauai (I live on the mainland) and it was difficult because I'm here and I had to deal with someone there and it has been a challenge for sure. My HOA hired this company to come out and pull my carpet back, cut holes in the wall and "cook" the room for 4 days to dry it all out. They did a great job......except they didn't re-stretch the carpet? What the hell??? Okay, I can't write a bad review without talking to the company first. When I called they explained that they were only contracted by the HOA to do the drying out, not the re-stretching. Oh....okay, so hold up on the bad review for the time being. A couple of weeks went by and nothing had happened so I called them again. "Hey man, what's up". Well, the HOA hadn't approved it yet so they couldn't do anything. So I asked Gabe, dude if I just pay you out of pocket will you go take care of it? Yes, and it will just be a minimum trip charge. Cool..... you know what else is cool, they did it the next day. I know things are busy on island right now but Gabe stepped up big and took care of me and the communication via text was spot on! Recently we had a waterline under a sink in the downstairs area of our home burst. It must have run for about an hour or more before we found it leaking probably 800 gallons of water into the house. It covered 2 bedrooms a hallway and a living area in at least 1.5 inches of water. The bedroom were carpeted and the living area was covered with bamboo flooring. We got it stopped and got up a lot of the water. Gabe came out the next morning and quite frankly our worries were over. He took over got the entire area dried out and then did the demo to remove the damaged flooring. Within a week, it was all cleaned up and we had a blank slate. We could not have asked for Gabe and his works to have been more helpful and professional. I sincerely hope that no one has the situation we did, but if you do, then Kauai Restoration is the company that you want to bring into your home. I sent an inquiry to Gabe via Yelp to get a home inspection done, thinking it was the general home inspection you get when you buy a house. He said he could do it so I scheduled the inspection a week later. It wasn't until looking at the invoice that I noticed the inspection he provided was solely a mold inspection. I called Gabe back and told him the situation... We had a big miscommunication but everything worked out okay. He is a good guy and the service he provided, while not exactly what I needed, was good. He also recommended a good home inspection company for the type of inspection I actually did need. Hopefully this review will be helpful for anyone who needs a general home inspection (vs a mold and water damage inspection) in the future. read more

When a tenant came down with asthma shortly after moving into her new rental home a contractor's assessment was the possibility of black mold buildup from a leaking bathroom pipe. Opening up the wall and area around the leak revealed the worst case scenario. Once black mold was discovered, research pointed the way to one of the few licensed professional mold remediation companies on Kauai. Owner Gabe Prieto quickly took charge. His certified technicians dismantled the bathroom, walls were opened up and shower surround removed revealing the shower had also been leaking requiring water remediation. Black mold was removed, walls treated, the bathroom sealed off with heater and fan going nonstop completely drying the area for days. During this time Gabe set the landlord's mind at ease by testing for moisture in the entire home to assure it was mold free. At the onset the tenant had to be displaced and an insurance claim was filed. Rather than hire a contractor for renovation, the landlord was relieved that Gabe's company is also certified in restoration able to provide warranties on his contractors' work. It was reassuring that he had years of experience working with the landlord's insurance adjuster. Together they worked out the invoice numbers qualifying the landlord for coverage. He personally took over arranging for replacement and delivery of damaged bathroom items. The bathroom was transformed to an even more immaculate, aesthetically pleasing space than before. Most importantly the landlord is grateful the tenant is now asthma free. Kauai residents are fortunate in this high humidity and moist sub tropical climate to have the best of the best in protection from mold and water damage with Kauai Restoration. read more

Very impressed with the cleaning of our Saltillo tiles and their response time as well as notification via text & email of the scheduling. However, in the process of cleaning the tiles, the transitions strips from our laminate flooring were damaged & raised. We notified the company and they did not repair but covered the costs to repair. It was a few additional steps and appointments due to the damage but in the end it worked out. read more

Moving from California to Kauai, I had a houseful of beautful oriental carpets. As a couple of years went along, and with our two miniature schnauzers, the ubiquitous orange dust of the island began to dim the colors and in some spots, actually replace them! Within a couple of hours they were at my front door led by Luke. Very calmly and professionally they took over the situation and starting making everything right. Just exactly what I needed! They bring in the fans, they rip up the carpeting, they take out all the wet cabinets and do everything else that needs to be done. The fans take several days to dry everything and they check on you everyday without even having to ask.
