This place is wonderful!!! The employees are always extremely sweet and they make delicious coffee as well. I've yet to try their lunch food, but they carry Alternative Baking Co's vegan cookies (delicious!!!). I just love this place. I love that they make their own EVERYTHING (mostly) and it's filled with yummy smells every time I'm in, love the cozy feel, that there are usually kids or dogs around. Katy's Corner is my neighbor and oh what a great neighbor it's been. Katy, the adorably cute and friendly owner has set up a really cool neighborhood coffee shop with delicious sandwiches and smoothies but something happend to me here that is nothing short of remarkable. You see I hate coffee. Although I do like the smell of roasting coffee the taste of coffee is bitter barfalicious to me and I've never been able to stand it. Nevermind that coffee turns me into Steve Carrel's character from "Anchor Man" because I always end up bumping into walls and saying things like "I love lamp". Katy got me hooked on white coffee and it's great. It's nutty, smooth and be careful because it actually has MORE caffeine than roasted coffee. Try it! read more

I really want to like this great little neighborhood coffee shop more. Our barista was great and friendly. My SO said his latte was good and our little one liked her hot cocoa. There's even dog treats. I am knocking one star off for no gluten free food options and another for the powdered chai mix that is weak flavored and the top two ingredients are sugar and milk. I forgot to check if the cocoa in my kids' drink had milk or not. As a dairy-free and gluten free family we are always challenged by our needs. Our sweet barista didn't know that the chai had dairy until I asked and she read the label. (I could taste it.) However, that said, we may not enjoy the in-house made goodies (probably why there's nothing gluten free) but we can indulge in some coffee for sure. read more

ok I would love this place anyways because it is literally a 100 feet from my new seattle home but seriously it's a great little place. 1. lots of window+lots of heat= people watching and being warm in Seattle 2. drink and food-i drink hot chocolate and they make it good, sounds easy, believe me it's not they also make a mean turkey club and have lots of treats 3.free wi-fi, considering NO ONE in Seattle seem to leave thier servers open, this place was a godsend before my own DSL was set up. 4.the people that work there are so freaking happy and nice I was wondering for a while if they were really robots (they aren't), just really nice folks. read more

Just went into Katy's for the first time. This is just the kind of little café I wish was closer to where I live. Tried the breakfast bagel with ham, egg, cheddar, and cream cheese. It's not the kind of thing you want to order if you're in a hurry, since they handcraft it and it probably took about 10 mins, but it's more than worth the wait. It's at least worth twice the $5 they charge for it, so don't be stingy with the tip. read more

Hand's down one of my all time favorite cafe's in Seattle. I usually come here on Monday afternoon's and I love the girls that work there. They are always super friendly and talkative and seem to know almost everyone that walks in. My favorite drinks there are warm cider and their iced vanilla chai is to die for. I used to go a few times a week, when it was on my commute route. I have always had a pleasant experience with the baristas. They chat with you; they remember you, if you come by often. My one favorite guy always made me good coffee and cheerfully chatted with me, which I like a lot in a neighborhood place. Their prices are right, too. I haven't tried their food. read more

I'll start by saying I have a mixed review here. Been there twice. First time, I was impressed. Second time, disappointed. Not sure if there will be a third. It's a cute, local neighborhood cafe. I can say that much. Pros: Good atmosphere, friendly staff, good location. Cons: The service was very slow both times I was there - and I mean ridiculously slow. Even when not that busy, it was over 15 minutes before they'd even started making my breakfast sandwich. And they're not even fast making the coffee. What irked me was that the staff, who I think may have actually been Katy herself, was putting a lot more energy into chatting with her friends who were there, than preparing the orders. And her friends were helping themselves behind the counter, and touching stuff. That just seemed unprofessional. I know it's about having a neighborly feel. But there's certain standards I expect. The food is nothing great, with the pastry being especially bad - as in, worse than Safeway pastry. In summary... I'll walk the extra distance to go to Cafe Presse or try to find some other cafe in the neighborhood. read more

I really want to like Katy's. It's so cute, and it's such a convenient location, and the coffee is okay, but really the service just stinks. Literally, every single time I walk in, the barista's friends are crowded on the opposite side of the friend yelling to them, and I have to sidestep around their conversation to get a word in edgewise. Really, at different times of the day, different days of the week. Every single time, the barista was caught up in their own very important LOUD conversation. I know it's a small place, but I expect baristas at the very least to be at least a little bit friendly, and not act so annoyed that I'm interrupting their conversation. If I wanted to be ignored by teenagers I would go to the food court at the mall. Oh Katy's. I give up. read more

I was a little hesitant about this place when I walked in... it seats about... 10 people max. And when I walked in there was about 7 spots taken, the only two left were right up against the espresso machine and I had this bad feeling that the place was kind of pretentious. There was also a young child scurrying around. But my first impressions were a bit premature. My spot cozied up against the espresso machine was not bad at all, I was not forced to awkwardly catch glances with the barista as I expected. And the young child was nowhere near as wild and rambunctious as I expected him to be. He was quite precious, kept to himself, and had an infectious personality. I didn't feel like I couldn't do my work because he was there. And the boy's relationship with his barista mother (I think?) was really sweet to catch glimpses of. So all in all, a productive environment for me to work in even though I imagine there will be times that I walk in and there's no room for me. But I noticed that in the two hours I was there the place filled and emptied multiple times. I remained the only constant (apart from the barista) for a solid 2 hours. I had a breakfast bagel and it was pretty good. And a lemon cookie for dessert which was even better. In fact, I would say maybe the worst part about this place is that they MAKE FRESH COOKIES RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!!!! and seriously how does someone say no to fresh baked cookies? yeah, it's impossible. I tried. I had a vanilla latte as well (half-sweet) and it was just to my liking. I will absolutely come back to this place in the future and kind of like that it seems to be hidden. read more

Very Cozy Cafe. We ordered Tuna Pita (fresh, and light), Bagel (Ham, egg and cheese), Chai And Mocha Coffee. Everything was soooo awesome. BTW, you are able to choose between vanilla chai or spice chai. I chose the spice, it was better than Starbucks. read more

Its a cute coffee shop but they only have one vegetarian sandwich which seems odd to me given the location the number of black rim glasses being worn inside. I would rate that but it was sold out. And I do not know if I should include this but I asked the guy if he could run my card as debit and he ran it as credit effectively triggering a stolen card response from my bank due to some crazy things going on with my bank I now don't have any options for buying anything until my bank stuff gets cleared up. The only reason I did include this, is that the whole vibe the guy gave us was they clearly did not care that you existed it was actually an annoyance that you were in his shop. I came here because my name is Katy. But I really didn't enjoy this place. I ordered a cheese and spinach muffin. It was flavorless and doughy. I asked for it heated and it was still doughy. Where was the spinach and cheese in the muffin?? My friend who literally eats everything wouldn't eat more of it. I also ordered a hot chocolate with coconut milk because I'm lactose intolerant. The barista thought I had said hot mocha and gave me coffee with coconut milk. My body can't handle coffee. I had to ask for her to remake the drink, I felt bad about it but she was nice and offered. The barista then proceeded to mess up my friend's order too. He bought trail mix but never received it. The prices are a bit pricey, for a small hot coco and muffin I spent $9. The breakfast sandwich took 15 minutes to make but it was pretty delicious, still not worth $6.50 though. The ambience of the place was pretty chill, with sofas and lots of sunlight. It was a Saturday morning around 9:30am and there were about 5 people in the small cafe and sitting outside on the benches. The barista kept loudly complaining about a girl named "Katy" (probably the owner of the shop) to a customer and how she sexually harasses people? She said she "slaps everyone's butts". read more

I wish I had found this place 4 years ago when I first moved to Seattle. I like going to different cafes to study or work on something but I love this place because the environment makes it easy to focus. It's comfy, clean, and calming here. Prices are reasonable. Noise is minimum despite number of cars passing by. I only got a latte and pastry but next time I'm getting a sandwich because I noticed nearly everyone has been ordering one! This is such an adorable cafe located in the central district of Seattle. I came in real quick to get an iced americano and was greeted immediately by the happy barista. It's a tiny cafe but the feel of it made me want to go back and read there for a bit or write. A thoroughly delightful experience!!! The coffee is great, the homemade baked goods are delicious as are the other breakfast and lunch options. The staff is stable, fast, amazingly nice and so NOT like the chain folks!! The other wonderful thing is the atmosphere. While there is a crowd of regulars who frequent Katy's to socialize on their way to work or in the morning, they are extremely warm and inclusive of strangers.
