An update on the kind of person Angelina is vs. who she pretends to be…read more
After my initial generous, yet fair/honest/objective, review - before Angelina called Nancy Saunders at Saunders Massage (https://www.yelp.com/biz/saunders-massage-therapy-denver?hrid=jrTjOOrasSUNUjn78XDvqw&utm_source=ishare&utm_content=review) to complain about me as a client, immaturely & unprofessionally, simply because I correctly called out Angelina's complete inability to enable online scheduling via her website, like every normal/healthy/functional business with whom I interact in Denver, CO, Boulder, CO, San Francisco, CA, Washington, DC, and Plano, TX, I saw that Angelina didn't even know how to use Yelp ethically. And this was *AFTER* Angelina created more work for me, by encouraging Nancy to play "Mean Girls" tactics - as if we're back in *MIDDLE SCHOOL* - and cancel all of my future appointments. Which, again, per my review of Nancy, is fine, considering I was already in the process of replacing Nancy, but is disrespectful, petty, annoying, immature, and unprofessional, and needs to be called out and corrected, to teach these women how to conduct themselves professionally, as alleged "business owners".
Instead of owning her Yelp business page - like every other small business owner in the cities I listed above - though Angelina told me the name of her business is "Effects by Angelina" (which I wrote when I created this page *FOR HER* in my First Review), she changed its name to "Effect (singular) by Angelina" - like how she has Square, her payment processor by Jack Dorsey, set-up, given she clearly doesn't pay attention to details (including for hair cuts). Then she *WROTE A 5-STAR REVIEW OF HERSELF*, which is obviously a violation of Yelp's terms & conditions of service / ground rules / guidelines / policies, which I reported to Yelp, which Yelp Corporate promptly removed. In her 5-star biased review of herself, she complained - yet again vs. problem solving - that the name of her business is "Effects" vs. "Effect". Why, then, has she failed to update Square? So, I - yet again - did her work for her, and kindly & properly changed the name of her business here on Yelp back to "Effects" - correcting her sloppy mistake once again - like how I originally wrote it, before she edited it to "Effect by Angelina Hair Studio".
Angelina then recruited her clients to badmouth me, and my initial review, calling me a "hater" who is "intimidated" by her "hair therapy". In the words of Cher in Clueless (since we're literally returning to middle school with these women, Angelina and Nancy Saunders) "as if!" First of all, I'm definitely not "intimidated" by Angelina's sub-par hair cuts, or her sub-par "hair therapy," given Angelina's complete & utter lack of understanding of actual psychology. I do absolutely take issue with Angelina's - and apparently her clients' - *TOXIC POSITIVITY* when it comes to *DISRESPECTING MY DAD'S DEATH* and *DISRESPECTING MY OWN HEALTH*.
I will also add that I've asked my female friends in NoVA / DC / MD if they would tolerate the kind of absurdity that is required to schedule an appointment with Angelina - texting back & forth inefficiently, for days, and you should've seen the horrified looks on their faces via FaceTime! They said "absolutely not; mine has online scheduling" (if they don't have a receptionist).
Thus, I've updated my review, with quotes from an *ACTUAL PSYCHOLOGIST*, Whitney Goodman, the author of "Toxic Positivity," which is a perfect book to counter these Mean Girls - Angelina & Nancy Saunders - who continue to disrespect both me, as well as my dad & his COVID-related death.
UPDATE (12/4/22): my new hair stylist verified that Angelina gave me a good cut, but she failed to follow my architectural drawings from my SF stylists - who teach other stylists how to cut hair. My cut was not round / concave, like the hair cut for which I asked & paid. I was not wrong when I said it felt off & wrong from my preferred cut, and Angelina actually did exactly the opposite of what I wanted. Instead of rounding the corners & making them shorter than the back, it was longer on the corners, such that my new hair stylist had to cut more length off than I desired - to fix Angelina's mistake.
ProTip: Dear Angelina, do not *ATTEMPT* to bully a Colorado native, who was bullied - as a child & teenager - by Mean Girls, like you. I still remember the first time I felt safe to be intelligent - in public - vs. pretend to be a flighty, ditzy, blonde, pretty girl - simply to be cliche popular: *IN CHICAGO*.
I'm bringing that energy back to my hometown.
NOTE: Angelina removed the "Toxic Positivity" quote photos, just like her client that badmouthed & attacked me deleted her review.
