And they also give you a case every time you buy a guitar because every guitar comes with the case, they give it to you in the original case unlike other music stores that we all know such as Sweetwater, Guitar Center, American music supply or AMS none of them in the original case you have to buy it for extra $200-$300. At TME they give you a case whatever Guitar you buy I've never left that store without a case. A hardshell case at that not a gig bag. But a real hardshell case that you could stand on all the guitars in it, and it will not hurt the Guitar. I even had one fall out the back of a truck and hit the ground pretty hard in the hard showcase and they were both fine. All three were fine 73 Gibson and less Paul 1998 seven string Ibanez RGS/RGA?? 7 7120 something like that. it was black with a Floyd rose. I don't remember what kind of pick up cause back man seven strings had just come out not many people knew how to plan now they're just as easy if not easier to play in a sixth string because everything's based on seven patterns and the strings of positions and fingering on each string and on and on and on, I think if you learn guitar theory with a seven string, you wear your ass fit a lot faster than having to see the seven string feeding pattern and the fingering positions just to get a seven string so you don't have to skip that seventh repeating pattern you just play it also you get a full three octaves instead of two octaves and 4 notes so basically anywhere from 17 to 19 notes Max. On a seven string you can complete the whole fingering pattern in each three note for string pattern and you played 3 office and your notice that if there are a much shorter space on the six string it will go from like 5th fret to 7 or eight, possibly nine

Early 2019 I bought my dream amp: an early 70's Sunn Model T. After receiving and unpacking the artifact, I started searching for local amp techs and decided to go with Tone Dr. after consideration of cost and distance. My first visit was all well and good, dropped the amp off for a post-shipping checkup and re-tube. Turnaround was quick and the price wasn't too bad compared to the more established competition. Even was promised a lifetime warranty, which seemed strange as no tech I've encountered up to this point issues a blanket guarantee on amplifiers. The amp worked without issue for a few weeks until one night when one of the 6550 tubes began to white flash when signal was introduced. Immediately killed the power and notified Lance, who agreed it should be brought in. Long story short, after waiting a month, finally had to call and call and call before I was told that the amp was ready. After receiving the amp again, with two new tubes and some replaced internals, I get it back home. 48 hours later my 1970's Sunn Model T white flashes again and catches fire within the chassis from normal use at concert volume. Normally I'd be concerned if my amp failed this quickly after turnaround, especially with the Model T, which is notorious for failure when pushed way past normal boundaries (it wasn't), but I have never, EVER heard of an amplifier setting itself on fire in this manner unless something internally was installed improperly. Why not take it back and use the lifetime warranty? There is no way, short of putting a loaded gun to my head, that I would ever entertain that idea. Amps should never catch fire through normal use, and therefore we know the cause. Steamboat Amps brought my Model T back to life and as of this writing, there are zero problems. Pic related: the resurrected amp. That baggie on top of it is full of the parts that had to be replaced due to the fire. Incompetence, oversight, lack of due diligence... call it whatever you want. It cost me over half a grand to rectify the Doctor's malpractice. As much as I would love to recommend this business, I'm now forced to do the opposite.

I would not even give him a single star. By far the worst…read moreever. We took a guitar to get a crack fixed. Which my son had tried to keep together with clear tape. Nothing major. By the time he said it was ready, he had removed al varnish and the pick guard saying he had trouble removing the tape. That he'll fix it for some extra cash. And not only that. It wa so hard to get in contact with him as well. He will hardly answer his phone or call back when messages were left. More than once we tried to stop by and wasn't there. The lady from the hair salon next door will tell us he was at his other job fixing floors, furniture or something. After 3 months of phone calls and visits. We now have a guitar that needs to be refinished. Not only he did a very poor job, he saId he didn't have the pick guard to replace the one he removed. But he didn't care to listen when I was telling him how disappointed I was with the job and service I will never recommend this place to anyone.

This review is ONLY for renting instruments and a few minor repairs. I have NOT bought an…read moreinstrument from Fishburn, therefore, I cannot comment on the process, price, or value-for-money of an instrument. MOST IMPORTANT: The employees are EXCEPTIONAL! They are knowledgeable, and if they don't know, they will find out for you. I have always had great service from them (even though I can be snippy at times). Please be patient with them if you want them to be patient with you. I have rented 3 instruments (1 violin and 2 cellos) from Fishburn. I rented a 1/8 violin from Fishburn 3+ years ago for my son. I highly recommending instruments for growing children or for adults that are just "trying" out an instrument. Fishburn has a great rent-to-own program where you pay a monthly price and this money counts towards you owning an instrument once the price of the instrument is paid out. I love this program. Here are some of my experiences with renting. Renting: Fishburn has different tiers of rental (the higher the quality of instrument, the more money you pay for rental). When I first rented the 1/8 violin, I though, "hey, my kid is just beginning, he doesn't need an expensive rental". I was wrong. All great musicians start out as a beginner, beginners matter. Rent the best that you can afford. A higher quality instrument will be easier to play, better on the ears when practicing (doesn't sound like someone is torturing a cat), and make your kid feel better about him/herself, therefore, making that kid want to practice more. I wish the people at Fishburn would have informed me about this aspect of renting, I would have rented the higher quality instrument first instead of renting el cheapo, then having to come back and trade-up. That being said, the higher priced rental instrument is worth it. I know that they probably source their instruments overseas. I just want to say, the cheap 1/8 violin is REALLY bad. We are now at the 3/4 size, higher quality instrument, and it sounds so amazing. I know Fishburn didn't make the 1/8 violin-shaped-atrocity, but maybe consider sourcing from a better place? With all this being said, yes, PLEASE consider renting from them! Their rental prices are very fair. During renting, they also will clean, repair, and replace strings, bows, etc. for you free of charge. Once we paid out the price of the violin, we own it and no longer have to pay the monthly rental charge. This was automatic and I didn't have to go in and remind them. This was very nice. When my kid out-grew his violin, I just took it in and they swapped it for a larger one, no additional cost! I'm sure if you wanted/needed a higher quality violin, you would have to pay for the difference. This is understandable. Once you own the violin though, YOU are responsible for paying for repairs and services. Repairs and services: I had to re-hair a 3/4 bow. The re-hair price is almost the cost of a new bow. I decided to re-hair instead of buying a new one because my kid will grow and what am I going to do with a 3/4 violin bow? If you have a full-sized bow, maybe having two bows would be useful. The luthier did call me and we spoke about the re-hair vs buying another one. I greatly appreciate her time and her concern. In the end, we re-haired and she did an awesome job. I have also brought my cello in to reshape the bridge, and change the strings. All repairs were done in a timely manner and they are good at keeping you abreast of timelines to manage your expectations. They are good at exceeding timelines, but things happen sometimes. We have all been there. Side note: When I first rented a 1/8 cello for my daughter, this had to be special-ordered. There was a mix-up somewhere and the cello did not come on time. Mr. Fishburn called me himself to apologize. In the end, we had a pleasant conversation. It's a 1/8 cello, there are a million other things that are more important. Final verdicts: Rent from Fishburn: Yes! Or at least, give them a chance and try it out. Repair at Fishburn: I have only done minor repairs so YES! For large repairs like big cracks in instruments, I do not have experience so I cannot comment.

Bad customer service. I recently tried to rent another cello for my younger child, but due to issues with the store's process, the rental was never finalized and we were unable to receive the instrument despite waiting for quite some time. However, my card was still charged twice. It has now been about a week, and I still have not received the refund or any proactive update regarding the status. I eventually had to call the store myself twice, only to be told by the store manager that I should contact the corporate office directly. I understand that mistakes and system issues can happen, but I was disappointed with how the situation was handled afterward. Since the duplicate charges and unsuccessful rental were not caused by anything on my end, I would have expected the store to take ownership of the issue, communicate with corporate internally if necessary, and keep me updated until the refund was completed--instead of asking me to resolve it myself.
