Stay away band family. Their service and contract are fault. They do not honor at a timely manner, they tell you nos. The Conroe location is better. Stay away from the Shenandoah location. Woodlands family, I know they are close, but they do not take care of our kids that need repairs. Do the drive or go to another rental company in the Woodlands. Don't go here if you love your kids. The staff is so unprofessional they will trash customers; as parents and children are waiting for there lessons. I say the staff is untrained about professionalism and customer service. We were customers for 5 months and watching the staff under mind and punish families was heart breaking. Our final straw was the staff was so unable to book a lesson three times. We would show up and no lesson schedule. Even the manager was unable to understand their own computer system told us to arrive 3 hours earlier only to not have a time open with instructor. Don't Go HERE!!! even to rent an instrument. Poor rent to own program We rented a cello for our son and paid it off within a couple of years. Subsequently, he had a growth spurt and needed a larger instrument. Since many other shops will allow you to trade in or upgrade your instrument, we contacted them to arrange for a trade and were willing to pay whatever difference there would be. We were told that once an instrument was paid off, they closed our account and would no longer service us or buy back an instrument. We failed to look at this part of their rental policy since our experiences with other shops had allowed trades and upgrades. Moral of the story: buy your sheet music here, but rent your instrument elsewhere. read more

My son started taking guitar lessons with Al and he has been an amazing teacher. Within a week of starting my son could already play parts of songs. Every week they work on a song and the progression has been unreal. Not only is Al laid back and fun but he is a experienced musician and mentor to my son. I have never worked with such an inept group!!! Getting the instrument was delayed weeks, billing has been a hassle, and the constant emails/phones calls despite telling them not to have been beyond. I decided to go ahead and end my rental with them 10months early because their accounting is SO BAD!!!! Be very careful before you work with this group! read more

I live just a few minutes up the road. I called this place and ask if the fix sticky trump get valves and I was told they do. Even though this place is just minutes away from is it took is 40 minutes to find this place because the address the have online is wrong. Then when we get here we are told they don't work on our brand instrument because is cheap?? Is what we were told in a "nice way" if you can call it that way. All the prices we seen where outrageous. Great place to go, I am a current music major (string bass) and I love to play all kinks of instruments. The people there know what they're talking about and are very helpful. The prices are a little high but they almost always PRICE MATCH! WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS, ESPECIALLY INSTRUMENT REPAIR!!! They lost my sister's very special childhood violin, had it for 4 months, never called, never explained. They never returned 3 calls about the whereabouts of the instrument and then finally the manager Zach admitted they couldn't find it and offered a replacement. You cannot replace memories and if we hadn't called over and over, they basically would have stolen my sister's violin. Their customer service is so atrocious that it borders on criminal. I really like this place. The staff here are some of the nicest people on the planet, and they know about music. The place always looks neat and organized. One time I went there to buy something and they didn't have what I needed so they got it from another location. I think it took 1-2 days? They greet me when I walk in and are always willing to help me find what I'm looking for. As for prices, I can't really help you there. I've only ever been to 2 music stores, this one and another company and I hated the other one because the staff was terrible. It might help to get on their email list. They have specials and coupons. I traded in my daughter's trumpet for a viola. Instead of charging me the monthly rate of $26 for the viola, I have had two $84 dollar charges automatically removed from my account - two on the same day - for a bass. I've spent quite a while unsuccessully trying to straighten this out. Customer service is very unprofessional for this company - long wait times to speak to someone, with no resolution except to say "we've passed this info on to corporate, and someone will get back to you". Be careful of giving them your credit card for automatic billing, you don't know what will happen, and good luck getting it straightened out! read more

It took almost 3 weeks for a quick repairs that could have been done "while we waited" an another repair shop. Never got a call and although we called 4 times, never got any answers more than "it's a work in progress". Lots of confusion between my original call to bring it in and the conversation when we got to the store. All in all - repair was done and instrument works great. Just would prefer better communication and a more timely repair turn around. read more

They are very unorganized. We had difficulties with them messing up our account. I went to return a rental instrument and they couldn't even find it in my name and said it was registered to another account, claiming that my daughter must have switched cellos at school. Another person came over to help and they were able to find my info and made the return. Apparently they input the serial number wrong when we rented it. A month later we received another credit card charge and said we hadn't returned it! They ended up having someone from corporate call us and got it sorted out. I do not plan to rent instruments there in the future and will always use Lisle. read more
