The nail tech was detailed and took the time to fix a few minor things I pointed out, which I really appreciated. My nails came out looking great in the end! I was told they're currently working out of a temporary location while renovations are being done, but it didn't affect the service. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because my cuticles weren't trimmed and no cuticle oil was used--just a small detail that makes a difference in the finish.

I kept it simple with a basic mani and pedi. While I was happy with how my manicure turned out, I noticed once I got home that my pedicure polish looked a bit uneven and clumpy. My niece's nails came out beautifully--very pretty and well done. The salon has been open for about a year. The ambiance was bright, vibrant, dainty, and elegant. Neutral white and gray walls were accented with colorful floral décor, and Eiffel Tower touches welcomed guests at the front check-in counter. In addition to nails, the salon also offers waxing, facials, massages, and eyelash extensions. Overall, it's one of the nicer salons I've been to, with reasonable prices. Unfortunately aside from my pedicure polish not being smooth, a nail from my manicure chipped two days later after my appointment. That said, I am unlikely to return. Perhaps I need to stick with gel polish to get better results.

Once again I said "no thank you" she continues to do her work and she's so distracted at whoever walks through the door -- and then she goes "can you wait here for 5 minutes? My customer came in" -- like what excuse me?....finish what you started aka my nails. So whatever she leaves and comes back and only does two layers of dip powder. And then she kept filing down my nails. I told her to stop but she kept filing them down..nails look horrible. I got a light color and light colors require multiple dips NOT to where you basically see my nail. I should have NOT gone and just kept my natural nails. Btw: she asked me 2 other times if I wanted pedicure and my eyebrows. I said, "no thank you" I went in for dip powder and was TERRIBLE... -Length was too short -- didn't ask for this short. Remind you that I walked in with stiletto shaped nails and it's not what I walked out with. -Didn't ask for almond shape -Two dips = too thin I'm not going here there's no recovery so now I have to wait for my nails to grow. I understood exactly what your technician was saying. I've encountered this same attitude while traveling in Thailand. My tour guide openly explained that darker skin is viewed negatively in her culture because it has historically been associated with people who work outdoors, while lighter skin is preferred. She then told me that my skin tone was "fine." It was uncomfortable then, but I was a visitor in another country and chose to leave it there. That experience is precisely why I recognize what happened in your salon. Your technician did not simply use the words "dark skin" and leave room for me to misunderstand her meaning. She told me that she doesn't like dark skin, said that it was part of her culture, and then specifically distinguished my brown complexion by telling me that my skin was "fine" while darker skin was not. Explaining the cultural origin of a preference for lighter skin does not make that preference less colorist. Calling it a cultural or linguistic misunderstanding does not change what was said to me or what it meant. I also find the reference to your employees having "yellowish Asian skin tones" troubling. Being a person of color does not prevent someone from holding colorist attitudes toward people with darker complexions. What makes this explanation particularly concerning is that, from what I have observed, your salon serves a predominantly Black clientele. If you operate a business that welcomes and profits from Black customers across a range of complexions, then those customers should be able to sit in your chairs without hearing that an employee doesn't like skin that looks like theirs--or skin darker than theirs. Cultural context may explain where an attitude comes from; it does not excuse expressing it to a customer. I appreciate that you acknowledged the incorrect polish, the attempted charge for a service I did not request, and the unprofessional way my concerns were handled. But I will not allow the most disturbing part of my experience to be explained away as though I simply misunderstood what I heard. I didn't misunderstand. I heard her clearly. I understood the cultural context. And I still found it offensive. I see the distinction you're attempting to make, and I don't accept it.

Why have I stayed with Thuy and Tina so long when there are so many other options? That's easy. Quality work. My gel manicures last with no chipping and peeling. Thuy and Tina are also kind, friendly and funny and for me that's just as important as great nails. The new space is lovely, clean and friendly. There's even a hair salon. It's easy to find and has lots of parking. If you're looking for a nails salon...I suggest giving K&S Nails a try.

They told her $60. so, I told her she can get them done. When I came back to get my niece, she said she paid $127, She had her toes done which they claimed to use dipping powder and that's not what she asked for. They claimed that her big toenail was crooked which was a lie and said they put a fake nail on there. My niece said no nails was put on her feet or fingers. Why would you continue to add things to a child service when they told you what they were there for? Her fingernails were just painted, and no acrylic or tips was applied to her nails which was supposed to be a full set. it was all a mess. They claimed that they did a full set to her toes after making up all these lies and prices, they couldn't verify. (I have never heard of a full set to toes lol) omg it was a mess. my poor niece was so sad on her birthday because of this. I told them that was not what she asked for and that was too much money for something so simple. they refuse to remove the stuff off her toes and fingers and refund me or give me a percentage of my money back. My niece had to call her dad for more money to pay for this crap once they were done and gave her a price of $127. I wasn't aware of all of this until I picked her up.
