    Pane al cocciolato
    Andrea M.

I'm a big fan of their breads and plain croissants, not so much their specialty croissants, which I find to be greasy, heavy, and flattened. Though the flavors are creative, there is none of the airy lightness that I expect from a croissant. Anyway, back to their forte, which are bread loaves. The pane al cioccolato is to die for - a hint of chocolate with mini chocolate chips, not too sweet or overpowering. Great for breakfast or a snack. The sechskornbrot has a nice denseness, and reminds me of breakfast in Germany. Being able to order ahead of time for pickup at the farmer's market makes it easy to ensure you get the items you want!

The best bread we have had in a long time. The sesame seminola bread had a crunchy crust and was soft and slightly "elastic" on the inside. Warm, steamy, simply delicious. This was at the Evanston Farmers market on a Saturday morning. What a treat. Now we look forward to visiting her stand every Saturday. Just wonderful comfort food.

Gee. I had the chance to try English muffins from this bakery and I tell you, this is the best muffins I have ever tried. I just googled this bakery and found that it locates pretty far away from my city (Wheeling). I would like to ask the owner if there any other food stores which sell products from this bakery?

Bought the organic baguette at the Evanston's farmer's market. Not good. Very disappointing. Also expensive for a baguette, $4! Ridiculous!

The almond croissants are fabulous. Not too sweet with a real depth of flavor. BTW the Plum Street address has no shop.

Recently they helped provide some pastries and cookies for a baby shower brunch. We had the cinnamon rolls, blueberry bread and lemon bread. All were delicious. Guests asked where I had gotten them and planned on checking the place out. They also made some absolutely adorable cookies to go with the shower theme for the guests to take home with them. They were individually wrapped and so adorably decorated. They were also delicious. (I forgot to take a picture before people started taking them so the giraffe is missing.) It's so nice to find a delicious bakery that is family run and local. And so much better than the grocery stores or chain donut shops and bakeries.

Been searching far and wide for a new place as we recently moved from AZ and can't find anything that comes close to the donuts we have back home. I would say this place comes pretty close. I surprised my wife with a box of glazed. They were not what we were used to but good nonetheless. Reminded me of a hostess honey bun but not with the super thick icing. But the cinnamon sugar donuts had me on cloud 9. My son and I devoured them in two. I was disappointed that I only got us 2. Safe to say definitely going back to get some more.

The sheer variety of conchas on offer was truly amazing, making it so hard to choose just a few. This is like a crumble cookie but with delicious conchas. We ended up going home with quite the haul a 6 pack and a 12 pack, because, well, why not. We also couldn't resist picking up a Rosca de Reyes, which was absolutely beautiful and tasted incredibly soft and delicious. Among the conchas, the cajeta filled ones were a massive hit with my family, and the Nutella ones vanished just as quickly. The mazapán concha was not only tasty but also beautifully presented. I also have to shout out the Biscoff concha it was incredibly flavorful And the Duvalin concha, with its fun chocolate sprinkles, was a delightful take on a classic. I even spotted a strawberry cheesecake that looked utterly divine, but I was so caught up in the moment that I completely forgot to snap a picture. Definitely next time. We also tried a few of your drinks, and they were all fantastic. The winter matcha banana was a surprisingly delicious and unique combination - definitely a must try. But, if I had to pick a personal favorite, it would hands down be the dulce de leche iced latte. Seriously, I can't recommend it enough. We also sampled both the horchata frappe and the horchata iced latte while the frappe was good, the iced latte was definitely my preference and even more refreshing. Honestly, every single item we tried was simply delicious. Beyond the fantastic food and drinks, the owner and the staff were just wonderful so incredibly nice and welcoming. It truly made the entire experience even better. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I almost forgot there's a two or three little tables to dine in.

I followed up three separate times after the event to share my concerns and received no response at all--which really shows how little they value customer service. * I didn't receive the full list of cake flavor options until four days before pickup, and when I asked to switch flavors, I was told it was already too late because the cakes had been baked without confirming my choice. * I had a confirmed pickup time of 10:30 a.m., but when I arrived, I was told the designer went home sick and the cakes weren't finished. I ended up waiting until 11:45 a.m. for them to be decorated, which explains the rushed design. * The cake pops weren't ready, so I had to cancel them and run to another store last-minute to find replacements. * I specifically requested pastel colors, but the cakes were decorated in bright colors that didn't match anything we discussed. * The design and quality were extremely disappointing--the decorations looked rushed, the frosting was hard, and the smash cake wasn't even edible for its intended use. Overall, this was an unprofessional and frustrating experience from start to finish. Between the poor communication, lack of accountability, low-quality product, and complete disregard for customer concerns, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. They clearly do not prioritize quality or customer service.
