Since Valentines 2021 -- now over a year she's the only professional I go to for waxing and recommend to all my female compadres. - Affordable prices, half price than other salons and quick, efficient & comfortable experience for my usual 10 minute session total in and out for a braz wax. - Communication by text gets back to you within the hour for appointments on a working day (Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat) sometimes even on days off... - Schedule 1-2weeks advance because she books fast and usually full on Sat with no wait list. (She's closed Sun, Mon, Wed) as of Aug 2022. - Service is clean and strict on time since a full braz wax session you can be in and out in 10 minute tops... I'm in, bottoms off, laying down, she comes in, we talk two sentences & already I'm bare and getting dressed, pay cash and go so she can start next appt... I make appts via text but you can make appts there if there is time before her next appt. She's quick, efficient & friendly convo. I was introduced to Kathy's by friends who wanted to have a waxing outing. You're either open to waxing or you're not. There's no in between. My first visit was about 8 years ago and now she's the only place I go when I want that smooth, beach-ready look. Cash only. But if you forget, there's an ATM at 7-11, across the street. She does keep hours but I find that appointments are the best way to go. Additionally, having been involved in hula, she also makes beautiful lei, haku as well. And they are more affordable than most places because she just uses flowers in her yard. She often makes lei during graduation season but you can contact her for other events as well. Today was my first visit with Kathy and will definitely Be returning. I've been getting Brazilians for the past 4 years and Kathy is the most affordable! She's located right off of Beretania on Kalakaua so you'll need to park on the street. It's a small shop but very clean. Called to make a last minute appointment for a event and was told she was booked. Completely understandable. But I also asked if Kathy could give me a call if anything opened up and to my surprise, she did! She took me and I was very pleased with the service she provided. This is the best place to get a brazilian wax. Kathy runs this salon on her own; she does hair too! She is very friendly and fun to talk to. She uses a different type of wax than other salons that I've been to. She doesn't use the paper to take off the wax. After she puts the wax on you, she waits for it to dry (which only takes a few seconds) and she peels it off. I think this way is better- it doesn't hurt as much & it's clean (no leftover wax on you). The best part is the price!! It's only $20!!! And you can not get that price for a good brazilian anywhere!! read more

Kathy is seriously the best hidden secret for Brazilians. The rumors are true, $25 for a full Brazilian with hard wax! I've searched Yelp and the internet high and low and for hard wax you're looking at $50+ anywhere else. Just finished my second wax with her and I know I won't go anywhere else. And maybe I thought the worst before going in so it wasn't too painful the first time and now that I go more often, it's not bad at all. I love this place! I came here about 2 months back for a brazillian. It was a miraculous $20! That price is simply unheard of! I was so happy, that I tipped her an extra $15! The place is small, and only run by her. However, it is neat, clean, and very cute! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a cheap, quick, and easy wax. Totally worth it! I went to Kathy's for a brazilian after reading some reviews about how cheap they are! Not only did I pay $20 for my wax (not including tax), but she uses the hard wax and Kathy really made me feel comfortable during the procedure. The wax was a little hot and she did strip large sections at a time, but after I told her how hot the wax was and if she could strip smaller sections at a time, she willingly adjusted. Overall great experience. I plan on coming again and I would recommend it to other people. It beats paying $50 any day. read more

Kathy uses hard wax which is WAY less painful than soft wax and won't stretch your skin over time the way soft wax does. I went to Kathy's to do my lashes on 05.31.14. Let me tell you, my drive from Kapolei to her shop on Kalakaua Ave was WORTH it!! Its a small salon that is neat and clean. Kathy works alone so she pretty much does appointments only. I paid $35.00 for my lashes and i totally love it! Can't go wrong with her prices! My co workers noticed my lashes so I had to refer them to Kathy's! Parking may be difficult but we scored right infront of her shop. There's only street parking. I don't know why I haven't reviewed this place sooner! Kathy is great and there is no one else I will ever go to for Brazilians ever again unless I no longer live in Hawaii .. For $26.17 incl. tax you can get a Brazilian wax. You will never find that price somewhere else. Other salons/spas will cost $60 and upwards. Not only is she affordable but she does an amazing job too. And she is so kid friendly. She is understanding when I bring my baby with me and also gives me really good parenting type advice. I haven't tried any of the other services she offers because I don't really care about getting my nails done etc but I'm sure that everything she does is high quality and affordable. read more
