I want to be honest, candid, and fair in this review and want to reiterate this is only MY personal experience and I am not looking to discredit Kathy in any way but do feel my opinion and experience are important as well. I made an appointment to see Kathy for lip filler on June 22nd. She was really nice, quick, and I had no bruising. The whole process took less than 20 minutes. We did one ml of filler but she didn't tell me what filler she used or anything. I found that a little odd but brushed it off. Immediately after, I really liked the results because I had particularly thin lips and I always wanted to more volume. That night, I texted her to tell her thank you and asked what product she used. She told me it was Juvederm. She had mentioned during the consult if I'm looking to add more, I can come in after two weeks - which is what I did. I went in July 14th to have some more put in as well as even out the uneven-ness. One side of my lip was a LOT more full than the other. We ended up adding .7ml. Again, she didn't explain to me what the product she used was. She did say "It's the shape of your lips, if its uneven there's not much we can do there" which is weird because isn't the whole point of fillers to even out any unsymmetrical bits? Anyways, I noticed within a few days there was a LOT of filler outside of my lip line. I texted Kathy and she had told me to let it settle (which is sound advice!) and that if its still like that, we can only either "add more or remove the excess" which is frustrating because I paid for all of this and to have to dissolve it because she overfilled me seems a bit...wrong? I ended up waiting almost a month before I realized I had in fact been overfilled. At this point, I could've gone to Kathy to dissolve my lips and I'm sure she would've done it for free but I didn't feel comfortable myself returning to the clinic and decided to get a couple of opinions from other nurses/surgeons. I ended up asking Kathy WHICH Juvederm product she used, she told me it was Ultra Plus - which I've now discovered is a very thick product and not widely used for lips anymore and its meant for deep wrinkles. I had spent $1,090 with Kathy getting 1.7ml of filler and I've now spent $1,450 on dissolving it, using 10 vials of Hylenex. I chose to pay to have it dissolved by a different clinic as they offer dental block for numbing because Hylenex is EXTREMELY painful process (I had my first vial of it without numbing and was in tears). Each practitioner I consulted with told me you usually need to wait at least a month before filler appointments. This is sound advice and I wish Kathy had turned me away rather than giving me what I wanted. I, as a patient, will always want more but I think medical professionals do have to take responsibility in similar instances because I'm sure I'm not the first who went too big too fast. I also want to say that me doing almost 2 mls of product within weeks wasn't the big issue. I loved my initial results but now I look back on photos and realized how OVERFILLED above the lip line was then as well. Obviously she has all these 5 star reviews so I'm not here to tell you or her she can't do her job. I think her technique works for some and not for others. It didn't work out for me and it's been an extremely costly mistake. read more

I just moved and I was looking for a good place to do Botox and lip fillers. I found Kathy on Yelp and read the good reviews and made an appointment for that same week. I love the fact that she is open on Saturdays. That was also a huge plus for me. The office is located across the street from Good Samaritan Hospital. Plenty of parking. Kathy was so nice and I liked the fact that even though I had lip fillers in the past and Botox, she asked what I wanted and what she thought was best to achieve those results. In the past I was never asked that. I only got slight bruising on my lips but nothing major. But l assure that I am 100% happy with the results. Kathy is amazing!! Kathy's clinic is located inside Body Dynamics. Finding parking at this location is really easy. In fact, the drive there is pretty relaxing! You'll drive on a scenic route that goes alongside Vasona Lake. Kathy is very personable and listens. I came to her because of her fantastic Yelp reviews. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my lips to look and she delivered. We talked about Juvederm Ultra vs Juvederm Ultra Plus. I told her I wanted my lips to be more accentuated so we went with Ultra Plus! Here's the most important thing though... I DIDN'T FEEL A THING! I've had my lips done at a different clinic before and even with the numbing cream I felt a slight tugging and prodding. With Kathy? I felt nothing. She was done with my lips within 10 minutes and boy did they look amazing afterwards. Her hours are limited so book in advance. I have gone to Kathy 7 times in the past over 6 years. Never asked questions because she rushes her patients in and out. I went back to Kathy (who did my cheek filler ) to get hydrolase to dissolve it because one cheek was larger than the other (lopsided- it happens no big deal to me). However when I kindly asked for how much was injected -price per unit she snapped at me. The demeanor is night and day people. Take away: when you're paying and not asking questions, kathy is a nice lady (easy to fake for 15 mins) However- when something goes wrong ( btw I was very chill about it, and just wanted it fixed) and you ask her for clarification she snaps at you- and changes her own policy at a drop of a hat. The policy went from Kathy saying she dissolves her own filler for free, her front desk reiterating this to Kathy texting me saying it is now a charge of 375.00 to dissolve her lopsided cheek filler. It's like Jekyll and hyde and I was more confused in the change of her personality, from super sweet when things are going right, to cold and unreceptive when you ask for clarification and a correction. Another thing to note if you come here- you will never see a fresh package, brand wrapper, or brand box being opened. You have to ask and trust the nurse for her word. But remember she doesn't like questions. Last note Kathy quotes the Dr she runs under yet Dr is never there. I won't be coming back. If you come here ask questions! You have rights as a patient, and know if something goes wrong- don't be surprised by Jekyll and hyde 1) ask how much injected 2) how much is the unit price / that is injected 3) make sure you know WHAT is injected into your face. read more

I'm SO happy that I went to Kathy for lip injections. I had a horrible experience with a place in Palo Alto last year and I almost never wanted to get injections again. Kathy is so amazing. She is so kind, experienced, and listens! I started with half a syringe of the juvederm ultra plus (love that it's all the same cost for restylene, juvederm, and the ultra plus) but after doing the half I wanted to see more results so she asked me more questions about what I wanted to achieve. I told her I wanted people to be able to tell I got my lips done, but not look too abnormal / unnatural. So we went with the other half and wow. They look amazing! Her office was cute and had some vibrating things you can hold during the procedure which is good at distracting you. She used a numbing cream and the needle I think had some numbing agents too, so the pain was not too bad. Still a little uncomfortable obviously. Then she gave me the cutest little ketchup packet size ice packet wrapped in gauze to help with the light swelling. A few hours after the fill, my lips started to get a little sore especially when saying words that start with "W" since it puts pressure on your Cupid's area. Other than that, they were only sore if you touched them more than a gentle rub of aquaphor etc. The swelling on day two (currently at the end of day two) went down a lot and there is little to no bruising. It only really showed up at the sites of injecting. But someone just told me it looked like I had a light purple lip on haha also, we wear masks rn so that's helpful. After my first lip filler in October 2016 with Kathy, I returned July 2017 to get a touch up with just half a syringe of Juvederm Ultra Plus in my upper lip. It's now March 2018 and I STILL love them, it has stayed for a great amount of time and I don't think I'll need another touch up for a few months. Don't trust anyone with your face? Trust Kathy.
