This review is only for bedside manner and not treatment. I think it's helpful to have reviews of businesses that take into account other aspects as well not just services. I went to see Dr. Kim for some botox in my nares and nasolabial folds. I also asked to see if she could help even out my eyes bc I had gone to another injector a couple of weeks ago and had gotten botox in the muscle under my eyes and they now looked a bit uneven. She said it wasn't worth her time to do a few units of botox into my nares so she refuses to do it, that she refuses to bc it isn't cost effective. It's her business so I understand that. The way she said it was just harsh like it was ridiculous for me to ask. The previous injector i had gone to was so gracious and it didn't matter how many units I needed, even if it was 5 or less she just wanted me to be happy with it. As for the undereye botox, she said I need to go to who did my original Botox, it isn't right to go to someone else. I shouldn't be coming to her about it. Once again, understandable, but I just asked once, I wasn't persistent about it. I was here for a couple other things so I wanted to see if she'd also take care of that for me. Also, she said that people who complain are never happy and she can tell who will never be happy implying that I was one of those people. I simply asked for help with the correction once and dropped it. I was there already for other things, I was hoping to have less bruising this time around and tbh I didn't see anything wrong with it. Lastly, there was another girl who was leaving her appointment who was worried about occlusion and her lip injections and Dr. Kim brought her to the receptionist and asked her to make her feel better. The receptionist was very reassuring but usually the doctor is the one who also helps ease any worries. The receptionist is super nice and to be fair, Dr. Kim didn't charge me for the consultation which was really nice. I'm sure she is very skilled as well but this is only for her bedside manner. read more

I didn't think it would be possible to fix my aging face. With deep, ugly eyebags, mottled facial skin, and thick, deep nasolabial folds, I looked like nobody knows the trouble I've seen. But I heard that dermal fillers might be able to improve my look. Little did I know when I walked into ShotDocMD, I would walk out with a miracle. Dr. Kim acknowledged that my face would be a challenge, but she said she thought she could help me. She started with some filler to create a foundation in my cheeks to hold up the Juvederm she'd put into the eyebags. I can't say it was painless, but it wasn't too bad, and I'm a big baby when it comes to such things. Besides, anything worth doing is going to hurt just a little. Over the course of two visits, Dr. Kim repaired my nasolabial folds, put some volume back into my cheeks, diminished my eyebags, and then, for a grand finale, administered a PRP "Vampire" facial. That's the one where they use your own blood platelets and a roller of microscopic needles (the tool kind of reminds me of a tracing wheel used in sewing--only with much MUCH smaller needles). I was apprehensive but I trust Dr. Kim so much that I went for it. When I first saw my face after, I was a little confused. I just looked red and shiny. But I've learned that facial procedures are like old-fashioned camera film: they need a little time to develop. Cut to a week after the procedure. It was amazing. My skin was smooth again. Little wrinkles above and below my eyes were gone. I had my old even skin tone back. People who didn't know I had anything done were commenting on how good my face looked, that I looked refreshed, and healthier than they'd seen me in years. It really was like a miracle. The entire experience was pleasant and positive. Dr. Kim is not only a terrific doctor and artist, but she's an awesome conversationalist. Christina helped me make sure I could take advantage of all the discounts and promotions that were available. I cannot recommend ShotDocMD enough. After spending $336 on Botox, I still have a full frown! I really can't tell what Dr. Kim did, but it sure felt like NOTHING! If you have money to throw away, be my guest, but I don't. During my follow up appointment, I told her that I pay around $240 and I my frown area freezes for a long time and she said, "it's impossible"! That's how she justifies screwing people out of their hard-earned money! Then she said, "how come you didn't just go back there?", and I had to remind her that I came to her for filler consultation and decided to just get my Botox done! Don't read the positive reviews on Yelp, always read the negative ones, they paint a clearer picture of the person you'll be dealing with. I made the mistake of reading the positive reviews and look where it got me? I'm $336 short, and STILL have a full frown! Come to think of it, she wanted to inject me with more Botox and charge me even more money! If you think it costs $500 to treat your frown area only, then you've been living under a rock! Yes, you talked my ear off, kept repeating yourself like a broken record as if I wasn't capable of hearing you. I have been seeing Dr Kim for many years. I started seeing her when I was in my late 20s. I chose her because she did some training at Johns Hopkins. I made an appt for a lip flip. Mind you, I don't know what it takes to get one. I wa referred by a friend. As soon as I walk in? Dr Kim asked me my reason for my visit. I proceeded to tell her I was interested in a lip flip. Immediately she states that I am wasting her time. That a lip flip takes Liu 4 units and it runs about $100 which she says is offensive to her Her whole demeanor seemed upsetting. Like she was in a bad mood to start with. Dr. Kim and Christina are wonderful! I have been to see Dr. Kim twice, the first time for tear troughs, the second time for tear troughs and midface filler. I was extremely pleased with the results on both visits. Christina is pleasant and personable, making me feel at ease upon entering the office. She applied the numbing cream, explained the treatment and answered any questions that I had. Dr. Kim put me at ease, and made pleasant conversation while injecting the filler. I felt very comfortable and quite confident that I was being treated by a professional. So, I have been here twice now and I have to say, Dr. Kim is amazing. I used to go to someone else to get my Botox. She would rush people in-and-out in 15 minute increments and she was only putting Botox in my forehead. I started to notice that the lines between my eyebrows were becoming more prominent. Once she raised her prices and I started feeling like the Botox wasn't lasting as long as it should, I did research to find somewhere else. Enter Dr. Kim... My first visit was great. She gave me a full consultation and recommendation. She even mentioned her concerns with the fact I was only getting Botox in my forehead and said I may be seeing the lines between my eyebrows become more prominent (I had not even mentioned this but she nailed it). This is an too early review but I'm optimistic that my tmj is going to get better. The office is so nice and clean. I waited about 15 minutes to be seen after I came in on time for my appointment. It does hurt with the injections but I just can't wait for the pain to go away. Dr. Kim is easy to talk to and she is very sweet when she gave me a B12 shot after she Botox my jaws.
