I hadn't had anyone touch my brows in over 10 years out of fear of having them ripped off. After seeing client after client leave her chair with PERFECTLY sculpted, gorgeous eyebrows, I was a believer. I finally was able to have her do mine last month for the first time and its amazing! My mom was VERY skeptical of getting her makeup done on the day of my wedding. However, Kristin gently assured her that it would look very natural and it did. She looked so beautiful! All of my bridesmaids were so pleased with their makeup and so was I. She was very careful to blend the makeup and make it look natural but dramatic enough to show in pictures. It stayed put all night and looked flawless in photoa. Thank you so much Kristin!

I loved that she made sure to ask what I wanted and checked in with me after the trial with pictures to make sure I was still happy. On the day of my wedding, all my bridesmaids loved her so much that 4 of them booked her for their wedding party makeup! That says it all! She moved quickly and kept to schedule but still was so detail oriented and truly a perfectionist. She didn't do the exact same makeup on everybody, and instead really tailored the colors/style to each girl. She was also just plain fun to be around, and that really matters on such a busy day. I had dyed and bleached my hair many, many times over and thus, my hair was a hot mess. It was orange, brassy and splotchy. Darya made my oh so wrong hair RIGHT! She colored, highlighted and toned my hair to a beautiful ashy tone. Not only did she give me awesome highlights and color gloss, she stayed way, way past salon's closing time to make sure it was done and beautiful. We probably ran several hours past closing but she still took her time; she never once made me feel rushed! She genuinely cares for your hair and you! I appreciated her direct and honest feedback. Anyway, I love this place if you can't already tell. Darya is sweet, genuine, and beautiful inside and out! Thank you, Darya!

Choosing a hair and makeup artist in unfamiliar territory from across the country was one of the…read morescariest wedding tasks I had to do. Though I had spent many summers living in Newport, I always had my hair done in Connecticut, therefore never establishing a relationship with a Rhode Island hair stylist. And, since I was living in Arizona while planning my wedding, it wasn't easy to jet back and forth for trials. Based off of reviews on Yelp and WeddingWire, I chose Wedding Tresses. Their estimate was not outrageous and they were flexible to come do everyone's hair and makeup in the hotel suite that the bridal party was getting ready in. As a person that doesn't regularly wear a lot of makeup (mascara & blush on the daily if I'm lucky), I was worried about having too much put on. My makeup artist kept it as light as possible (wedding pictures call for more makeup than I'd ever used), and I loved how she made me look. I absolutely loved my hair too. They were professional, timely, and kind. They did a great job!

The biggest problem was the makeup artist, who was extremely rude, unprofessional, rushed, and unskilled. Most of my bridesmaids ended up removing the makeup she put on, as did I. I have been trying for over a month now (unsuccessfully) to get a response from Jacki, the owner of Wedding Tresses, about how terrible of an experience this was. She has been completely unresponsive. Highlights of the evening: 1) Without warning, the makeup artist was NOT the one who did my trial, nor did she have the notes from the trial (for which I paid a lot of money!). 2) The makeup artist had a serious attitude and immediately upon arrival started bossing people around. 3) She made nasty comments towards my bridesmaids, mother, and grandmother. 4) She did a bad job on almost everyone's makeup, and they had to redo it themselves. 5) I, the bride, was given exactly 15 minutes of her time (I was supposed to have an hour), and when I wasn't happy with the results, she said in a clearly upset voice, "Are you telling me I have to start all over again?!" 6) She left without notifying us or giving us a chance to get touchups and was overheard saying to the hair artist "I'm going to leave before anyone asks me to do anything else". Looking at the other reviews posted here, it's clear that sometimes Wedding Tresses has done a good job, and sometimes they have not.
