What frustrates me most is that I do not feel I was given realistic expectations about the possibility of seeing no improvement. Had I been told that results vary significantly and that some patients may not notice any meaningful change, I would have made a different decision before taking on this expense. Additionally, when I told them I was unhappy with the services provided and ask for a refund or compensated services, they refused and instead tried to get me to pay for more treatments! This was a major financial commitment for me and all for a treatment that provided NO benefit. I would not recommend this place to anyone because they will not be honest with you about the results you will see. Do not waste your money- seek providers who are transparent about both the potential benefits and limitations of the treatment.

I had and I sent her the email invoice showing I had paid. Again she was unprofessional and cannot understand the basic functions of her job. The manager told me this nasty rude young lady "didn't know that transactions take a few minutes to go through." which is such a poor excuse. A grown adult functioning and living in 2025 KNOWS that transactions take a few minutes to go through. I'm going to the one in Sommerville now and I get a MUCH better experience. Which is sad the front staff here is so rude because I did like the nurses.

I'll also note that spa treatments are not cheap but skin spa ALWAYS has a deal going on so you can get good discounts and once you purchase a service, it doesn't expire. I love them.

The worst is their behavior around tipping for med spa services. They blatantly and aggressively tried to get me to tip for those, literally trying to shame into paying it by loudly requesting a tip in front of everyone at the front desk, in addition to a big tablet with a tip suggestion (of 20,25 etc % expectation clearly listed) shoved in my face. This is a shady practice trying to indicate to a patient that this kind of tip is expected on a med spa procedure. Industry norms within healthcare generally favor transparent, all-inclusive pricing rather than gratuity-based compensation. This principle typically applies to services provided within medical spas, regardless of whether a specific treatment is performed by a medical provider or an esthetician. Because the service is offered under the medical spa's clinical umbrella and within a healthcare-related environment, patients reasonably expect the advertised price to reflect the full cost of care. Soliciting tips in this setting can create confusion regarding pricing, blur professional boundaries, and undermine the distinction between healthcare services and traditional hospitality services. The business acknowledges med spa separation from their day spa services. You receive multiple emails, forms to sign, etc. indicating a treatment that is treated as a procedure done under medical setting. It should be left to a patient discretion to provide a token of gratuity if they decide to do so, but in the med spa setting, there should not be expectation of the same tipping practice as for the traditional day spa services. I was very taken aback by these practices. This behavior was not present at other branches, but unfortunately those have been closed or will be closed.

Is there a way to give an establishment zero stars? It has actually taken me awhile to write this, as my experience at DH Estetica was somewhat traumatic and unbelievable. I lived in the city for 20 years and have been to many salons. Mostly I would go to Salon Marc Harris or Mario Russo, depending on availability. I decided to give this salon a try and ended up having to walk out after enduring some of the rudest treatment I have ever encountered ... anywhere, by anyone. A horrible, extenuating medical circumstance caused me to miss my appointment. I'm not going to get into what that circumstance was, but I did open up and tell the owner of the salon about it as I apologized profusely for missing my appointment. During the rescheduled appointment, the owner kept bringing up that I had missed my appointment the week prior, knowing full well the very personal medical reason why this had occurred. She did this while working on another customer sitting next to me, which was mortifying. Comments like "we have to make sure people respect our time" were made, which is totally inappropriate when someone has just endured a really trying medical situation. And then my stylist stated that despite being hospitalized and incapacitated, I should be paying a cancellation fee because "who knows if you're telling the truth." And despite knowing the very personal situation I had been in, the salon owner jumped on the shaming bandwagon and made yet another snarky comment. Again, this was a very personal, extenuating medical situation that I had confided in the owner of the shop about, putting me in a really vulnerable circumstance. Yet the stylist and the owner seemed to be goading me into divulging the details in front of their other client. It was so gross! Meanwhile -- and this was the most disturbing part actually -- the stylist combing out my hair started to do so in a rough manner bordering on violent, such that I repeatedly looked at the woman sitting in the chair next to me as if to say "is this really happening?" It was as if I was in the twilight zone. She was mid-style, and in no position to leave. But she kept flashing me looks like "omg I just found out my stylist is crazy. Run, save yourself!" After some heated words I got up from the chair to leave, and basically said that this is just not how we treat people in Boston, let alone how a customer should be treated. As a business owner myself, I would have gladly paid a cancellation fee if I had not been openly shamed and had a sad incident in my life questioned by a stylist and a hair salon owner in front of another client in what seemed like an attempt to humiliate me, and then physically taken out on me by a comb-wielding weirdo. I stated this to the owner (in a more emotional, not as eloquent way, but good enough given what had transpired). She coldly said to me "I will consider your feedback." Obviously I can't provide any insight into the quality of any service that would have come after this bizarre rudeness. I can only cast a lot of doubt on any reviews that would claim that these are nice or courteous people who care about clients. Because nobody with a bit of kindness in their heart would have been remotely capable of acting this way. read more

When I moved from Germany to Boston I was really scared to find a good hairdresser who would be careful with my hair, because I'm very picky with my hair :-) I have long light frizzy hair and a layered cut. (By the way, 8 years ago, I lost all my hairs after a chemotherapy, that is the reason because I'm so picky) Natalia was a recommendation from a neighbor in Back Bay. First I was really wary but I it was time for fresh color...so I had to try it. That was last summer. From the first moment, when I met Natalia I felt me in the "right hands". I explained her, what I want and gave her the number of the color which my hairdresser usually in Germany used. She used the same color and had cut just the points so my hair can grow long and she made me big curls how I like it and I used it from home. When I saw the result, I was so happy! I got what I wanted!!! Natalia is a calm and friendly person, she know absolutely what she is doing...my opinion is that she has a lot of experience with coloring, cutting and styling....she is just great! Since this time I am a regular and I am thankful, that I found her and I'm gladly to recommend her! By the way, this salon is clean and friendly, I always get a promptly appointment and when you come in, it feels like you would visit a friend. Daria is also very friendly and offer always you water or a tee. So you feel very welcome. By the way, Daria...one times I will try Botox. I found DH Estetica through yelp after I had an absolutely awful hair experience and needed color correction ASAP. The stylist who ruined my hair had 20 years of experience, came highly recommended and assured me that she could give me an ombre that looked natural but more noticable. What she did was essentially bleach half my head so that my medium brown hair was drastically contrasted against the other half, which was a yellow platinum blonde. There was no middle color and one blonde streak up my head from where the bleach leaked from the foil. I came in to DH Estetica and pulled my hair out of a ponytail for a consultation with the lovely Natasha, whose eyes bulged and head began to shake. She immediately began brainstorming ideas for how to fix the bleach disaster while still understanding what I wanted and how to get there given the problem. She got me in a week later and gave me a deal on color given that I had already spent so much for the disaster in the first place. The salon experience was great and Natasha, Daria and I were able to poke fun at the bad hair, knowing that it would be fixed. My hair will probably need a few more rounds of color before the rather obvious disparity between blonde and brown is neutralized, but Natasha worked magic on my head and I can at least wear it down again without wanting to cry every time I look in the mirror. I had an amazing experience! My mom came in to get lash extensions. She was so nervous because she had a horrible experience at another salon on Newbury street. Every question she had about lash extensions, she had answered. The professionals were so helpful and made the experience a great one. While I was there, I started to talk about my "not so great" experiences with stylists and how I want a hair cut but do not know what it is I want. The stylist took her time after my mom's appointment to look at my hair and give suggestions. Right away I could tell that real professionals work here. I got so excited about my new hair cut, I booked an appointment right away. I was not disappointed. The stylist took such good care of me! I am so excited to come back to get my color done. I recommend this place to all the Boston Men who want a timely, clean, pleasant and reasonably priced experience! I have been a very happy customer for a few months now. As a guy finding a good haircut place in the south end was not the easiest. Places are either too expensive and difficult to "deal with" (no appointments, etc) or cheap and not the best haircut. This place has everything good! The staff are great, the cut is amazing, and the price is very reasonable (and they always shampoo before your cut too...). You are in and out easy. Yesterday was my third visit to DH Estetica and I've had the greatest experiences each time. Darya is a very thoughtful and caring stylist, she discusses all the details in advance and checks whether you are liking it all the time. The eyelash extensions looked good on me for almost 4 weeks, which is a lot longer than I used to have in other salons. Yesterday I tried balayage and haircut for the first time with Darya and it looks wonderful! It took us a long time (because I have a lot of hair) but Darya was patient and did her job amazingly although it took us about 4 hours! She sat me down in the chair and started with a little consultation about my hair, what I'm looking for, and how I style it. On top of that I also have psoriasis in my scalp so professional attention was in need. With salons reopening I called a few stylist who worked on my hair through the years and not one of the 3 stylist I contacted returned my call neither did the 4 hair salons. Finally I remembered Chimene. She had done my hair in the past but when I changed jobs my hours made it difficult to see her. I crossed my fingers and reached out via text 6am on a Thurs, she responded in 15 mins, had an opening 3 days later and to my surprise she reached her goal and obtained her hair loss license because hair care is her passion. The scalp detox, oxygen treatment is detailed and effective. I could actually feel my scalp breathe for the first time in months it seems. The hair extension service I used to get had been discontinued but because Chimene is a consummate professional she grandfathered the service for me and did it anyways. I learned as well. I was taught what I eat plays huge factor in not only health but it effects the hair. I left there feeling like a new woman. Also her wig making and styling skills are top notch. He's what every hair dresser should be - talented, entertaining, and a good listener! What prompted this review was that I just got married in April and he did such an amazing job on my hair... working with a very tricky headpiece and veil (combination). He also did my maid of honor/sister's hair as well (she's the only person I had in my bridal party, but he showed me lots of LARGE wedding parties that he's also done). I had my hair trial with him about 1 month before the wedding and we talked through pictures of what I liked and he provided lots of great ideas and feedback about why certain things wouldn't work for my hair type - "that girls' hair is much shorter... thinner... thicker.. etc ...than yours" and always would recommend how he might tweak it (if that's what I really wanted). Although he had LOTS of suggestions, he also listened to what I wanted in the end and what felt most "like me." I knew that I wanted the little "snooky poof" incorporated into my updo and he made that work with all of the other elements - the veil, the headpiece, and what we chose to do for the back of my updo. I would HIGHLY recommend booking Al for your wedding OR just for your cut and color. I've been just about every color, length, and style cut under the sun and I wouldn't trust ANYONE else to do my hair. Book early though, he's really busy and I think he works Wed-Sat... Cindy is great with nails and pedicures. I've been living in different states these past two years and haven't found anyone that could replace Shirley and Cindy. Moving back to Boston and am excited to return to Sarpi Salon and Day Spa. Very comfortable and clean salon and everyone is very pleasant. Definitely recommend!
