Fortunately for me, my public adjuster, William Lehr, whose much more knowledgable and experienced in such matters, told me that for him, there was really only one place to go and that was Coline in Flushing. He assured me that the quality would be excellent and to give it a go. Well, I took his advice and today I could not be happier. Upon arrival, I met Ace, one of their top sales/design specialists and within a short period of time I felt truly at ease and we were able to thoughtfully and mindfully put together a design plan that, after execution, has far exceeded my hopes and expectations. Coline's gloss cabinets were the nicest I had seen and their MCI quartz has much nicer tones and veins than that used by friends of mine who went to designer outlets and paid so much more for less. I really felt that Ace and the Coline team really cared about the quality of their service and therefore I cannot recommend Coline and Ace enough to anyone who wants great quality and value in their home restoration...

They placed the cabinets in my garage (we installed them). I scheduled to have the kitchen measured for countertops. The gentleman arrived on time to measure. Very professional company. I would highly recommend.

I'd always been told that kitchen renovations were the toughest. We had already lived in the…read moreapartment during two separate bathroom renovations. It was time to find a new general contractor. We found that interviewing contractors for the job was stressful: costs were not disclosed up front and none gave us the feeling that we could trust them to deal with us fairly. So, it turned out to be a welcome pleasure to deal with Broadway Kitchen and Bath's owner, Jeff Chinman. From the beginning, he was honest and forthcoming about all aspects of the renovation. He really is a gem: a NYC vendor for many years who really has the customer's best interests in mind. While the showroom is unimpressive, it turns out that everything ordered through them turned out to be of good quality and reasonably priced. As various unexpected expenses were incurred, additional charges were also handled in a fair manner. At times when another contractor might have taken the easy way out on some aspect of the job, we found that Jeff would listen to our concerns and would try to find a solution that would satisfy us. No cutting corners! The two associates who were assigned to our job were terrific: Jimmy and Oscar. They managed to be as unobtrusive as they could be (e.g., cutting wood out on our balcony even in the bitter cold to minimize dust and noise). Would I hire them again? YES, absolutely. Did they meet expectations? YES, over and above.

If they would have initially explained cabinets were not even ready, rather than lying and saying cabinets were ready for delivery, we would have understood. Three to four months of work was wasted. George was our contact person at Knossos Furniture and they came very highly recommended. We even went as far as to look at some previous work they did and visit their shop. Both were very impressive. In person George was great but once he left and we had to rely on his word to send us quotes, contracts, etc. everything unraveled. When you are spending $40,000 to $50,000 on a renovation you want to know you can trust the contractor and that when they say they are going to do something that they either do it within the time specified or they communicate to you why there is going to be a delay. Hence my issue, the communication was horrible. Weeks/months would go by without hearing from him to the point we would have to follow up and then it was like nothing was the matter from his end. As though it is normal in his business to not send someone an estimate 1 month after visiting the property or saying you will have a contract submitted in a week and then a month goes by without ever hearing from them. No apologies, no I am sorry, no excuses. I would not recommend them.

I reached out to Jenna at the beginning of this summer because I needed to have the countertop and wood side panels removed temporarily in order to have floors replaced. She said that they were busy and it would be about a week to two weeks before they could get to me. That was fine. I also asked for a quote. I called back a week later, and was told that everyone was on vacation, but they would get to me by the end of the summer. I also asked for a written quote for my records. I was told, by Jenna, that was not a problem and she would email me the quote. I received nothing. Over the next few weeks, I called and left several messages, none of which were returned. When I finally got Jenna on the phone, she said that there were 5 jobs ahead of me and she doesn't know when they will be able to fit me in. I asked to speak to her manager. She told me he was not in yet, but would give him the message and have him call me. I never received a phone call...or the written quote. If this is how the people at BKM do business, especially with repeat customers, it is DISGRACEFUL.
