The food was amazing! The whipped avocado was OUT OF THIS WORLD. So good I ordered it twice. The lamb meatballs were scrumptious and juicy. The Ora king salmon was also very flavorful. came here for my bf's surprise birthday dinner and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. i tried calling multiple times to make the reservation and no one ever answered so i emailed, was then told i could only book by phone which made things unnecessarily difficult. when we arrived, the host spoiled the surprise by announcing we had other guests waiting but didn't walk us to the table, so we wandered around until we found them. half the menu was unavailable -- including salmon, lobster, calamari, even the quesadilla... my bf (birthday boy) can't eat meat so those were the only options he could've had and he barely ate anything. i ordered a slushy drink, took one sip before it spilled (my fault) but since it was full and happened right in front of the waiter i asked if i could please get a new one. he said "we'll see what we can do" then told me they're out of slushies for the night. later he brought me a different drink "free of charge" as if i might have had to pay for the replacement drink that wasn't even what i originally ordered... we'd also dropped off a cake earlier and i was told over the phone it was a $4 fee, but when my friend brought it they said it was $20. when it finally came out (after we reminded the waiter, who didn't even know there was a cake) it wasn't cut or served with plates or utensils-- i had to get up and ask for them myself. then the busser removed the light from our table while we were still eating dessert... by 9:30 they had already lowered the music and were closing up even though they're listed as open until 10. overall, the service was mid, communication was poor, and for nearly a $400 bill it was absolutely not worth it. i was really looking forward to celebrating here but this was genuinely one of the most disappointing dining experiences in LA. read more

Very beautiful rooftop with gorgeous views! We put our names on the waitlist and went to the bar. The hostess didn't give us an estimate wait time so we assumed it wouldn't be that long. We went to the bar and ordered drinks one of them featured a vanilla foam but when the drink came out there was no foam. My friend told the bartender he forgot the foam and he said they were actually out. Very strange that she wasn't told before that they were out or told right when he realized? But he was kind enough to not charge us for the drink. We waited about an hour then went up to the host stand to see how much longer and she said "u can sit at the bar now, the kitchen closes soon" and we were surprised as there were so many open tables. So we asked if we could have a table and she said "I'm not really sure I just know that I'm done" ?? So bizarre! would she never have called us off the waitlist and we would've been waiting well past the kitchens closure? So I asked if there was someone else that was taking over the host stand so we can get a table and she again said "I'm not too sure but I'm like done". And continued to pack up and clean the host stand. I understand wanting to go home after a long day but this was just rude. I asked one more time how we go about getting sat at a table and she sighed asked for my name and took us to the table. This all left a sour taste in our mouth but luckily our server Danny was wonderful! He was very nice and didn't make us feel rushed just one gentle reminder that the kitchen was closing soon. I wasn't going to write a review because it's so bad but I have to let ownership know. A girl named Rio a hostess accosted us on Sunday Aug 24 I went for drinks and food with a few friends she asked us to vacate a table we were seated at for less than 1 hour. I cannot in good conscience justify spending 700 on some drinks and food for 3 people with this kind of service. Views are amazing and food was decent the other employees were nice but this person should not be working with people she clearly can't multi task and properly speak to people. read more

Worst customer service. My husband and I had reservation at 5:30, we arrived around 5:15 and they sat us. We had 8 drinks, 6 food items and desert and around 7:00 our waitress told us that we needed to wrap it up because the next people with reservation were waiting. We asked for the bill and as soon as we paid for it, at 7:12 another very rude host came to tell us we need to leave within a couple of minutes. We had not finished are desert or last drink yet. Why would they not have the courtesy to give us at least 2 hours from the time we made the reservation? There were people there by us who had been there longer than us. They claim to be a "Greek" place. They would never ever do that in Greece. I will never come back here, tourist trap with rude staff and mediocre food. It ruined our evening. read more

Food was good, but the ambience was awful as the music was blasted throughout the rooftop, taking away from the fact that you are steps from the beach and there's a wonderful view. I don't understand the compulsion to blast music to the point where you must strain to talk to whoever you're with in fact, even the servers have a trouble hearing your order. I really wish that this obsession with loud music would go away as it takes away from the entire dining experience. It's for this reason alone I won't return, and I really wish they would consider lowering the music, especially during the early hours of the evening. read more

Horrible customer service. I tried to reserve a time slot for a birthday dinner. It was for a party of 8, so the online didnt allow me to book it due to a large group. It stated to call in instead. I did. Again, and again I called - for 3 days straight. I left a voice message twice. 4th day I called and finally somebody answered. He said they were booked already. He didn't seem to care that I was trying to make a reservation. He was rude and seem bothered that I called. When I told him I left a message twice and was never called back, he didn't seem to care about that either. He did state he had other time slots available, but nothing close to what I needed (all working women here). He had the 'oh well' attitude. When I questioned him why i never got a call back, he hung up on me. And, before anyone thinks, maybe I gave attitude. I did not. You can catch more flies with honey than vingegar. read more

We went on a midweek lunchtime with a reservation - the venue was only half full but we were offered one of the worst tables despite many tables open with views despite being the first for our reservation time to arrive. After being sat by management to a more suitable table we ordered. Drink menu consists of batched premixed cocktails served draft style by them (very cheap theme park quality) no fresh fruit juices used only syrup used. They were very watered down very disappointing. Food (remember these are small bite plates which we knew ahead of time this was not a concern) we ordered chicken, hummus, tomato salad, flat bread and quesadilla all were good except the quesadilla was too greasy. No sweets on the menu at all. No dessert which is short sighted in my opinion. Overall the menu is too limited and drinks are not worth it. Period. The space is pretty if not foolishly designed with an enormous plastic plant planter that takes up valuable table space. Accessing the rooftop is ridiculous and cannot be changed as there is only one small elevator. Very annoying. Do not valet park it's $20 and they are incompetent. Not sure we will ever return we are locals and I have never been to this hotel because it is less stars that I ordinarily frequent but was curious due to Kassi ownership same as Elephante' in Santa Monica which we also visited and enjoyed. Food was ok but overpriced for what it was, service was close to non existent and very disorganized, manager was crass and condescending. If not for the stunning view of the beach I would have rated this as low as possible. If you're looking for a good time I do not recommend it, however if you want a place to look at the beach and pay for overpriced food and bev this will definitely fit your tastes. read more

Double booked tables and canceled reservations last minute. Poor execution of the transition from High Rooftop Lounge to Kassi

The food here is really delicious. (It's definitely a step up from the last restaurant that was on the rooftop prior to this ) Our server was sweet, but I overheard that everyone splits tips evenly there... I don't like knowing that when I give a generous tip to my server, that he/she does not get the bulk of it. I'm fine with them tipping out on a certain percentage (as that is the industry norm) but I'm not okay with giving a really nice tip and then learning that the person I wanted it to go to doesn't even get the full generosity. I find it very disrespectful to your employees to do that to them. If a server does the work to earn a higher tip, they deserve the bulk of it, not to split evenly with other employees who I didn't even lay eyes on, and who may not even be working as hard. Sadly, I will think twice about tipping above 20 percent there (20 is my minimum- but I won't do it there because my money won't go to who deserves it the most-server), as the industry standard is the server should get to keep the bulk of their tips- not share evenly. And I promise you every server you employ agrees with this, they're just too scared to lose their jobs to vocalize it to you. I recently learned that is how you do it at Bells too... What a shame.. what a disrespect. I feel bad for the servers that you employ there that get a pay cut in comparison to other bars who allow their servers to keep the larger percentage of their tips. read more

Walked in to visit on a Monday around 3:30pm. The rooftop was mostly empty. The concierge spent a few minutes looking at the reservation tablet as if they were experiencing a rush and had no where to seat us. He finally tells us he can take us to a table but did mention that he would need the table back by 6pm (which was fine by us, especially considering that was 2.5 hours from when we walked in). The table we were sat at was closer to the beach which was nice. However, there were a few of the tables right upfront that were empty. I asked if we could move to that table and his response was no due to the other "reservations". Since he already gave us a time limit, I asked if we could sit there until the table was needed. He responded again no because of my "reservations". We were there for two hours and the entire time all those front spot tables were completely empty... The restaurant was also no busier when the left vs when we came in. He could've been a little better at accommodating the guests coming in to spend money instead of gate keeping the nice view. The drinks we ordered were nice and the service was just okay. It took the server a while to greet us and while she was pleasant her service wasn't memorable. Wouldn't say this experience was something that has us dying to truly come back. read more
