My friend and I who are birthday twins, down the same birth year convinced me to come here, and so happy I did!! We were seated on the patio right against the edge over looking the amazing view and beach. Food and drinks were amazing. The service was great. Park downstairs in the building, valet is $10 and convenient! The valet guys are so sweet as is the staff in the lobby greeting you to come in. Love the music they play there and standing in the elevator the music starts off the vibe to a great experience. Make sure you make reservations. We got in since it was still early in the day but it is a new place and will get busy!
We came here for a work event, and I was surprisingly impressed with the food here. Usually for a place that has good vibes, good views, you don't really expect the food to be good either, but it actually was!. My favorite bites were the zucchini fries, the flatbread, the chicken skewer, and the taramasalata dip. Service is really great as well, they come and check in on your often!
Came here with a cousin who I hadn't seen in a few years. You can never really go wrong coming to this rooftop, regardless of what name it's currently under. If you're into rooftops,l particularly those that oversee large bodies of water, this cannot be beat. I closed things out with a nice bottle of still water and cuz ordered a few alcoholic drinks. And while we just happened to pop in without a reservation, there was ample room to stand around the perimeter of the flowery garden like thing in the middle. Even when this location was previously known as the High Lounge, or High Lounge Rooftop, they would often feature DJs particularly when the weather was great outside. You would think with the Coachella music festival going on that there would have been ample seats and tons of space to move around, but that was not the case. This place was pretty packed! All in all, another solid outing at this particular rooftop. What staff they did have seem to be buzzing around like super busy bees, tending mostly to those seated with reservation, which is understandable. Without being seated via reservation you'll have to head straight to the bar, minimizing any significant interaction with the staff as a whole, except of course the bartender himself. I would place this rooftop in a top five with regards to So Cal rooftops, and #1 if water is your thing.

Ora King Salmon | Shared | I had been to Kassi before, because of an event, and I knew right away that I would order the Salmon Skewer again, as it was delicious, as well as flavorful! Seasoned with perfection, as well as a delicious lemon-y flavor! Greek Fries | Shared | Thick & flavorful, alongside lemon aioli, za'atar & thyme! We both enjoyed the lemon-y flavor, as it stood out immensely! Zucchini Chips | Shared | I highly recommend, flavor upon flavor, alongside feta & za'atar! Yum! Customer Service | Incredibly attentive, as both of our servers, one in training, checked on our table often! Both were friendly and conversation flowed easily! Though it wasn't cold, it was quite windy, so they offered us each a blanket to keep warm! Super sweet! We were both grateful for the blankets! Upon Arrival | My sister-in-law landed at LAX, had eaten on her flight, but we both decided on a light bite to eat at Kassi, which is on Venice Beach! She dropped off her luggage at my place, and we proceeded to walk up the Venice Boardwalk! I checked online for reservations, and there was only one left, so we just took a chance! We took the elevator to the rooftop and we were seated immediately! Reservations | I highly recommend, as this place can get very busy, as it was tonight, even though it was quite windy! There was a private party, as well as numerous tables filled with excitable guests! Scenery | I had been to the rooftop before when it was another name! The views are absolutely incredible, 360° views, including the oceanfront! Gorgeous at sunset, & spectacularly lit all around at night! Overall | Great customer service, incredible views, all around and memorable bites! I'm grateful that Kassi is near, as it was a great place to take my sister-in-law on her first night in town! Score!
A great rooftop, great vibes, good sounds, and ven better drinks... I happened to not get flicks of that because I was in the moment, I also had the cucumbers 7.8 / 10 but after I added some more salt, 8.5 / 10 I believe the only drink I had was the Cadallac Marg 7.8 / 10 but going for the straight Ocho Repo did me better... also the Bottled Still of Aqua Panna. Our waiter was so cool by the way! She is actually the reason for the high rating and I wish I could remember her name right now.
Went here for drinks before dinner on Valentine's Day and it was very popular! Probably because it has a great view of the sunset & ocean. We enjoyed our drinks but be sure to wear a coat because it did get pretty windy and chilly up there! I believe the servers will bring you a blanket upon request though. I'd recommend this as a date spot or as a place to bring people visiting from out of town. The views are the best part, and the drinks were solid. My fiancé is very picky on espresso martinis as she only likes the ones with real espresso, and they passed the test.

What I DIDN'T anticipate was how loud it was and the party atmosphere. There was a DJ set up and we were initially seated right in front of the speakers. We were able to move, luckily. I don't know why I expected a quieter, lowkey (aka romantic) vibe on a rooftop bar in Venice- it certainly wasn't that. But it WAS fun and great people watching!
The views during sunset are so magical- it feels as if you escaped Cali and are now in a foreign beach resort. The long passageway feels as if you're walking down a pier. I am glad we stopped by at 530pm it was a beautiful sunset. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive; I made reservations at 6pm on a Friday night. There was a DJ on set which was pretty cool this brought the overall experience and ambience as if it was a party in a beach club. As For the food it is Mediterranean food, we ordered the gem salad ( apples, pine nuts with a creamy sweet and sour dressing), asparagus; served with these creamy yellow / orange sauce, can't describe the taste but it was savory, we also ordered the beef sirloin and honey chx skewers, calamari (1/10 but wish it was a bigger serving size). The drinks were refreshing- I can't recall the names. The parking lots nearby was $20 I don't think the hotel had any valet for the restaurant so this one hurt.

It was quite cold outside so they gave us blankets and then when some people under a heater left, they moved us to the outdoor heater area which was really nice! My husband got the "deconstructed baklava" which he said was really good. I didn't want anything because I was too full and a bit cold so I had a cup of hot tea which was perfect for a cold night. Everyone working there was so nice. We are glad we tried it and look forward to eating there again!

Make a reservation!! Weekends are usually fully booked with only a cancellation waitlist. There is bar seating available if you do not have a reservation. The drinks were very unique and delicious, and you can tell all of the bartenders love their job. It is a GORGEOUS location, offering a rooftop experience overlooking Venice beach. As a LA native, it really transported me to "vacation mode" instantly. read more

Amazing view and vibes - recommend making a reservation bc it gets packed, especially around golden hour. Drinks/food are pricey as expected but worth it for the vibes. Parking can be difficult in this area, the nearby lots will charge $10+ an hour. This is the perfect spot to bring your friends who are visiting LA! read more

I actually lived here in Venice Beach for 3 1/2 years way back in my "single" days; and knew every nook and cranny from Playa Del Ray to the Venice pier. This was my playground at a time when a young man needed a playground! I always knew of the Hotel Erwin where the Kassi Rooftop is located but never ventured in? The (pretty terrific) people we were with on this Sunday afternoon lead us to the Erwin and subsequently to Kassi. WOW.........was all I could say when the elevator door opened and the view I could see was from Palos Verde to Malibu and from the San Gabriel Mountains to Catalina; yikes, was this breathtaking! This spot at Kassi is absolutely Southern California at its best. With a "Chill" DJ spinning music and the food and drinks being served, along with this magnificent view and magnificent weather (in February mind you) this transplanted Chicago boy is definitely thinking of moving back here? read more

Kassi restaurant was amazing! I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time. The dishes are a bit smaller like tapas so there's not any main dishes so I recommend ordering at least 5-6 dishes between two people to share. Everything we did try was really good from the bread to the seafood and meats. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the menu with fresh ingredients. it's rare to find a restaurant in LA that has both a good view and good food and this place didn't disappoint. gorgeous view of the west side located on top of hotel Erwin! located amongst other popular bar hopping spots so the huge bar area seems like a popular night out destination. It is pretty cold after 6pm and there seemed to be no heat lamps, so bring a jacket. Made a reservation at 8pm on a Sunday- saw others get turned down for no reservation. The food was surprisingly amazing- got the refreshing watermelon salad, flatbread with taramasalata (2nd fav), crispy halloumi, salmon skewers (great but nothing special), and the table favorite lobster orzo (MUST have). read more

Ended up going earlier than our reservation and finding a table by the bar. It was busy and we did wait a bit for another group to finish up. Super cute place and lively Got the grapefruit spritz and it was really nice, don't let the black pepper stop you from ordering it, you can't taste it We ordered a bunch of things to split between the three of us- zucchini fries, tomatoes, flat bread, whipped avocado, lamb meatballs and chicken skewer. It was all tasty. The skewers, tomatoes and meatballs were okay. The winner of the meal was the flat bread and whipped avocado. I could've eaten the avocado with a spoon!! Beautiful beautiful view! I've been here on two occasions now, once during the day and once at dinner. Both times I was SO impressed by the food! It's small plates, great for sharing and it's delicious. The zucchini fries are a MUST HAVE. So good The cocktails are also top notch Parking is difficult in this area and the elevator can get a long line (I'd recommend a reservation if coming for dinner) read more

Beautiful rooftop restaurant overlooking Venice! I came here for dinner with my boyfriend during the week, and it was an excellent tasting meal. The whole experience was really nice. We were seated at a cozy table by a heater, and they provided blankets just in case, for extra warmth. Each dish was really tasty. We ordered the salmon crudo chips, the harissa chicken and beef tenderloin skewers, the taramasalata with the flat bread, and the watermelon salad. All so yummy! The crudo chips and the skewers were my favorites. I just wish that it was a bit more food for the price. Each dish was really small. read more

Parking: Find free street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods and walk a couple blocks. Experience: We made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival and we had such friendly service the whole night! This is a lovely place for sunset drinks and appetizers! There isn't really a bad view. There were some fun drinks and mocktails on the menu and we ordered the hummus & tzatziki with the flatbread which was so good!! They don't really have a full food menu, so you'll probably want to find a real restaurant for dinner. read more

Of course I heard all the rave so decided to finally come check it out. Came around 5 on a Tuesday, and it was pretty empty (which was nice). The views of course, were amazing. The staff was SUPERRR friendly. Very nice and sweet, helpful, everything you'd imagine. I got the seafoam drink and it was SO GOOOOD. The vanilla foam was to die for. We also got the fries, flavor wise it was good but it was SOOO oily. (I came home and threw up a few hrs later). I guess my body couldn't handle all the oil. If I come back I'll probably get something healthier but will def get the drink again! Wish you were here xx read more

Craving Santorini or Mykonos but currently can't afford airfare or a proper vacation ? Look no further ! A sunset hang or two at Kassi's rooftop will surely tide you over until your next trip ! 6/5 for customer service ! Kara /Cara was my server and she was excellent. I haven't had such good service in a while... basically not since I stayed at a Ritz Carlton in the UAE or at the Kimpton in London . Views were 8/5!!!But please try to reserve a table, especially if you're going on the weekend or even Mondays (apparently are really popular) . I saw a gentleman who was turned away or at least put in a standby by line because he did not have a reservation because they were fully booked on a Wednesday evening. While, they'll definitely try to accommodate you there are no guarantees, especially as far as Venice goes. As for the food: Best calamari I've ever had! Light and crisp ! Very tasty . I also really enjoyed the flatbread . While the whipped Avocado will please most guest I wish I took a risk and tried the dip with the red caviar or actually went for the classic tzatziki instead ! Next time ! Favorite cocktail hands down was the honeydew thyme Paloma. I also ordered the Oracle of Delphi but it was a bit sweet for my taste and after having the honeydew Paloma, it was very hard to measure up to the perfection of that cocktail. The beef tenderloin was pretty good . i wish it was cooked, medium rare instead of medium. It was really tasty the next day straight out of the fridge, with a bit of Santa Maria seasoning ! Lastly , I heard great things though about the lamb skewers here and I'm really excited to also try that next time ! Will definitely be back ! read more

I want to Kassi for the first time. The reason was because of an excellent Yelp event. This is an outstanding new restaurant and a beautiful setting. It used to be called the Harbor Rooftop restaurant years ago but now it's Kassi . I started off with the Greek salad, it was excellent. For my entree I had the beef on a skewer which was super top-quality and made perfectly. Absolutely no fat on it at all! In addition, I had a margarita and it was one of the best Cadillac margaritas Ever! The waitress was extremely hospitable and nice. The view was stupendous. I highly recommend this restaurant . I can't wait to come back again and enjoy another great meal. read more
Came back to test out their food this time and, we were not disappointed. I will start off by saying, if you're starving, this is probably not where you want to go. But if you want to go somewhere with a gorgeous view, cool vibes, friendly staff and really delicious, albeit lighter dishes, then this is the place to go. We really liked everything we got. Our drinks - Bloody Mary and Japanese Penicillin were delicious. What we ate: pulled flat bread - fresh and tasty. Tzatziki- very good. Greek salad - as good as it looks good on the pics . The spanakopita quesadilla - may have been my favorite. The lamb skewer - so tender and juicy. Our server, Max, was very cool. He was attentive and made recommendations when we asked. Wow -- what an incredible rooftop spot! I'd heard about this place for a while, but I had no idea what a treat I was in for. Stunning 360° views of the ocean and city, beautifully designed seating areas, a lush green space in the center -- even if it's artificial, it still works. The chilled sparkling red wine was surprisingly good. The Cadillac margarita, on the other hand, fell a bit flat. Excellent spot for a date or drinks with friends! Book a table to watch the sunset. Stayed at the Erwin Hotel for a birthday weekend getaway. The Kassi Rooftop Venice Beach is literally on the rooftop of the hotel. Make a reservation as the tables do fill up. I called and also walked up to reserve directly with the hostess on site to make a Saturday night reservation at seven to watch the sunset. Go for the views! So nice to wake up in the morning and enjoy the sun rising as the day wakes up in Venice Beach. Even more magical to watch the sunset with a 180° view from the rooftop. Although we had requested a table for two right next to the perimeter to enjoy an unobstructed view, one was not available when we arrived. However, once one opened, we just moved one table over to enjoy the views overlooking the beach. Service was very good. Suzy was so sweet. She made several recommendations as both the salmon and lamb skewers that we had planned to order were sold out by 7 PM. Ordered a nice spread of appetizers, a Greek salad, and beef skewers. Since we were staying at the hotel, we kept watching them bring up fresh vegetables every day. The tomatoes and cucumbers looked so ripe and juicy. The Greek salad was fantastic. Cucumbers, Kalamata olives, white onions, and feta cheese with a healthy serving of those juicy ripe, locally grown fresh tomatoes. Add a splash of red wine vinaigrette. A perfect way to start our evening. Added a trio of appetizers. The zucchini fries with whipped feta and zaatar was amazing. One of our favorite bites of the night. The crispy spanakopita was also very good as was the whipped avocado dip. I was surprised that the dips did not come with any thing to dip into them. We also ordered a flatbread, $5 for basically one pita, which was okay, but not the exceptional. My husband also enjoyed the beef tenderloin skewers. Maybe next time we will get the salmon and lamb if they don't run out. Since it was my birthday, the hotel gifted me a $40 voucher which was a nice bonus for evening. Service was excellent. Nice to have a bottle of water which they kept refilled. Bring a jacket, because even in July, it does get chilly when the sun goes down. Blankets are also available. Came here with some traveling coworkers for a drink and some sun. I was never a huge fan of High Rooftop, which had great views but the menu was always meh. Complete 180 now. The food was legit. Fries, hummus, and the SKEWERS (chicken and salmon) were all good enough to order another round. Cocktails, alc and N.A., were all beautiful and had a great mix of unique flavors. The servers let us stay longer than we were supposed to because they had a reservation after. Overall can't wait to come back now, especially with out of town friends or a hot date. read more
We had stumbled into this amazing place purely by accident as we saw it while strolling on the boardwalk on a Sunday. We took a walk over and were so happy to see such a cool rooftop restaurant! The bar was open but it's standing room only mostly but who minds it with the amazing view. Dinner required reservations so we immediately made them through Open Table for a couple of says after. The ambiance was trendy casual with many happy people enjoying the sights. We had sunset reservations and we lucked out with a table on the west side on the edge. Our waitress Sophie (or Sophia, blanking on name, so sorry) was super friendly and very helpful with explaining the menu items. She offered two glasses of complementary white wine since we were celebrating our anniversary. Please clone her, she was great! We had the Harissa Honey Chicken and Ora King Salmon skewers, asparagus with this delicious creamy sauce, whipped avocado (A MUST!) with some of their tasty warm flat bread. Their Ouzo Orzo was simply delish and we topped our meal with their Watermelon Salad. All the tastes complimented each other perfectly. I do need to say that the chicken and salmon skewers were pretty big so one might be perfect for my next time (there will be!) and both were cooked to PERFECTION! They only have one dessert and it was like frozen yogurt with small marshmallows and some crumbly sweet baklava. A nice little treat to end our perfect night. I did have a dirty martini that was pretty yummy but their espresso martini truly was delish. Can't wait to go back! Oh, and get this! They offered us blankets when the heat lamp kept turning off! They have a few for those special situations. I love this place! read more

Parking-is it difficult and only hotel parking and expensive?
They do have valet parking at the hotel but we never used them. We were able to find street parking on multiple days but be sure to read the signs. There are also other lots you can choose and metered parking
