They also have a sidewalk bar set-up that you can watch the bartender make their famous Duck Fart, which people flock to get! Look, I'm not here to talk about the price. Just do your research in advance as prices fluctuate and save up. We came a week after the second location closed for the season so we waited probably 40 minutes in line. The line would have moved quicker if there was someone inside helping herd patrons I think and make sure they weren't sitting like every other seat at the bars or using the seats to stow belongings which I found to be a bit annoying but that's not the shack's fault-- that's just selfish American culture for you. My husband and I got a medium and the bisque. I heard the crab is usually caught and frozen and steamed so usually tourist season it's just rewarmed but honestly the red king crab we had wasn't chewy at all. It's chocked full of protein so even the three legs for big eaters like us and three claws plus the bisque which had plenty of crab in it as well was filling. The legs were partially cracked so for us so accessing the meat was quite easy. Honestly, all in all, a bucket list meal fulfilled.

We were high enough to see seaplanes descending for a landing. There is one small caveat. Getting to this bar & grill does require a tram ride from the base of the mountain. The tram ride can be a white knuckle experience if conditions are windy, which iwas the case during my visit. Timberline offers an array of seafood and grilled items. They also have a bar have a list of house cocktails. Orders must be placed at the bar. I ordered the Halibut Burger with a side of fries. I also ordered their Keylime Pietini cocktail. The halibut burger was grilled to perfection! The cocktail was very sweet and was almost like a dessert. Seating is first come first serve and I was fortunate enough to snag the window table looking out into the channel. Overall, a wonderful dining experience while enjoying nature.
