I came by off the cruise ships, it was towards the end of the season (September) so it was extra cold and cloudy (end of season for the northern lights viewing). The clam chowder was absolutely delicious; it was meaty, and just the perfect thickness I like. There were chunks of fish and clams in every bite. I also got fresh oysters and they were nice and meaty with a touch of brine and had a nice bite. The service was a bit slow since people were being sat in droves, but once the server came around, she was very nice. We had a few questions and she answered them with a smile and gave me some awesome tips. Overall, a satisfying meal with an awesome view; I would recommend.

It was fun to look at all the business cards, patches, hats etc. covering every inch of the walls and ceiling. Floors of sawdust assist with the old-time gold rush days feel. What bothered me most was the service from our waitress, Summer. In my experience, she came across as disrespectful and dismissive the entire time we were there. Simple questions about the menu felt like an inconvenience to her, and the attitude we received made the whole meal uncomfortable. We were rushed while ordering, had long waits for drinks and food, and when we tried to politely ask about the delay, the response felt rude instead of helpful. The food itself was average at best and definitely not worth the prices. Some items arrived lukewarm, and parts of our order were incorrect. By the time everything was fixed, the rest of the table had already finished eating. The atmosphere may appeal to tourists looking for the "old saloon" vibe, but customer service should still matter no matter how busy a place is. Overall, this was one of the least enjoyable dining experiences I've had in Alaska. Between the poor service, long waits, and disrespectful attitude we experienced from Summer, I wouldn't choose to come back or recommend it to others. I hope management takes customer concerns more seriously in the future because the location and concept have a lot of potential.

The place was absolutely crowded. We ordered pancakes, which were large, fluffy, and just what you'd hope for. I also had the biscuits and gravy. While the gravy itself was a bit of a letdown (pretty bland and lacking the sausage you'd expect), the biscuit underneath was fine. On the other hand, the hashbrowns were excellent--I'd asked for them well-done on both sides, and they came out perfectly crisped. This is a great place to stop after a long flight into Juneau--comfort food, friendly vibes, and a bustling local crowd. I'd definitely go back, though next time I'd like to explore more of the menu to find a favorite.

Apple cider, coffee, lemonade and water were also available along with a cup of clam chowder. A short (2) minute walk takes you to an impressive and visually stunning waterfall that's cascades down the rocks and into a stream. The food, environment and hospitality of the staff was greatly appreciated. When in Juneau and looking for a place to satisfy your salmon craving this might be the spot.

Depending on the time of year you visit, it may be cold and it may or may not be rainy so pack accordingly because I do not believe they offer rain checks. They also have a bar have a list of house cocktails. Orders must be placed at the bar. I ordered the Halibut Burger with a side of fries. I also ordered their Keylime Pietini cocktail. The halibut burger was grilled to perfection! The cocktail was very sweet and was almost like a dessert. Seating is first come first serve and I was fortunate enough to snag the window table looking out into the channel. Overall, a wonderful dining experience while enjoying nature.
