Here in October 2023 and halibut fish and chips were wonderful, now not so much. Bagged coated fries and the coating on the halibut was chewy and halibut overcooked. Service is still great and I like to support local so maybe will try reindeer chili next week. read more

Shared an order of fish (halibut) and chips. You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. Tables are picnic type tables with benches. Utensils and condiments are available at a central area. No frills but really good food!! There are restrooms available here also. A little pricey, but what do you expect for such an off the beaten path place like this with amazing views. read more

Great food with fun atmosphere. We had the king crab, and a local red beer and were pleased with the overall meal.

I got the halibut & chips and it was really good!! Not huge portions but enough and then you still have room for mini donuts at the little shack out front. The order came out pretty quick. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a stunning view!!! read more

While the menu is limited to just a few sandwiches, chili, soup and fries my bacon cheeseburger was tasty and the patty was homemade. The staff was very kind and the service was quick. Stopped by on our Alaskan Cruise for lunch off the ship. Cool spot with ample seating inside. Service was quick and food came out hot. Had the Halibut and chips which was crispy, flaky and tasty! Wife had the Smoked Salmon Chowder which was smokey and well balanced. Too full but wish I got to try the Reindeer Chili. Maybe next time! read more

This was our best meal on our Royal Caribbean cruise in Alaska. The seafood boil included Crablegs, sausage, shrimp, mussels, corn, red potatoes and mushrooms. This was the best seafood boil I ever had and I am from Florida. If I ever get the chance to return I will definitely come back. read more

We went in for fish and chips. They had very little batter but were greasy! The only thing with flavor was the tartar sauce! You pay at the counter when you order and they turn the screen around to show the "tip" screen. We tipped 20% (in advance) and it took forever to get our food. We finally flagged down the food runner (no service was included) and then our food magically appeared. read more

This is a great rustic cookhouse. The fish and chips are excellent. You order at the register, and they give you a pager. Then you pick it up. You can eat inside or outside under a covered patio. read more

They offer very tasty reindeer burgers in addition to the usual fish & chips. If it's not raining, choose the outside dining & enjoy this Alaskan Village. Look up in the trees for the bald eagles. This place was definitely not as good as the Crab Station in my opinion but has a different selection of food. My wife really liked the reindeer burger. The fries were ok. It sits on the dock so the views are very nice. read more

We stopped here for a late lunch after our canoe excursion and I wasn't expecting much and the prices were a little high. I was wrong. This place was great! The best fries I have ever had and the burger was cooked to perfection and so tender and tasty. It was worth every penny. I would definitely reccomend stopping in if you're in the area. Location The only reason is their location. The halibut n chips is super expensive for a few rock hard over cooked nuggets. I wish I would have known so I could have gone somewhere else or back to the ship read more

Basic tourist food. Over priced for what it is. Fish was ok. Too much bun. Reindeer chili could have been any chili.

I ordered salmon chowder for $11 and got a small bowl of cut up potatoes without broth or salmon. I'd suggest going into Hoonah to the fisherman's daughter for more local tastier food. read more

We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. We were worried it would be a ripoff since there were not many other options around. However, the food was great! We enjoyed the fried halibut chunks and fries, both of which were very good. The service was also really friendly. The only downside was that it was a little pricey, but the meal was a huge amount of food - almost enough for two to share. read more

Long line to order, but food came out timely. We ate outside with a beautiful view. Halibut and chips was delicious and my 10 yr old (very picky eater) now likes halibut. Burgers were good too. The menu looks pricey but I proceeded to order because of its location, nice seating by the water. I am giving it one star due to bad services and food! Unfriendly cashier. I ordered a banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches, the menu says sauté shrimp with mints and coriander), fish and chips and a beer. Waited for a long time before food arrived, the sandwich looks plain without any mints or Coriander. I asked the server about the mints and she said it's already mixed in there which clearly is not. The fish and chips were too well battered, and not enough fish and the beer didn't arrive either. Back to banh mi, the shrimps were cold and covered with some kind of gelatin sauce instead of sauté (gross) , bread was cold dry and days old. I finally walked up to cashier and asked about the "mints". She said they were out. The should NOT have sold me a $15 sandwiches that they know it's not right. Should have said sorry we are out! I asked if I could get a refund, after 5-10 minutes of her asking someone inside, she came back saying that they could replace another item. Told them no thanks. We got our beer and it was flat! End up trashing banh mi, beer and half eaten fish and chips. What disappointed me most is that the server tried to fool us by saying mints is already mixed in it and they sold an item that they know they are out of the main ingredients! I call them crooks house instead of cook house! read more

The salmon here is shipped in from the Atlantic Ocean...we ordered salmon chowder and this turns out to be potato chowder lacking any salmon. I found the food to be good! I'm not dying and dreaming of it, but it was better than expected. (we had the reindeer chili, fries, and the reindeer burger.) for them being as mobbed as they were, I think the food came out pretty timely...though an anxious, hungry child probably would have started to lose their mind. read more
