As a person with multiple chronic illnesses I have seen a huge range of medical and alternative medicine practitioners and rarely have I felt cared for with BOTH astute, rigorous knowledge AND warmth. I am so grateful to have found her.

This message is long overdue…read more I've been seeing Rachel for the last three years primarily for fertility reasons, but also just because once I started going to acupuncture, I didn't want to stop. I felt so good after every session. Rachel is a warm and attentive listener, who asks the right questions and provides an intuitive level of treatment. I referred a friend to see Rachel and the friend had had a panic attack during acupuncture at a different place and was terrified. Rachel stayed in the room with her during her treatment and literally held her hand so that she could feel calm and safe knowing she had someone there if panic should ensue. Rachel did house calls and endured 30-45 minutes of non-stop chihuahua barking to assist in my quest to get pregnant. Below is a picture of her at my house when I was in labor, trying to get things to speed up, but also aiming for pain relief. If you are looking for a safe and relaxing environment and a warm and competent acupuncturist, I cannot recommend Seven Seas highly enough.

But I threw out my back & I've had it with the steroid injections & bs. So I spoiled myself. They just reopened on Willoughby in Bushwick and oh my lanta!!!! It's a much more intimate space than they had 10 years ago, when you go for the community option I think there's only three beds now. Not only does the bed heat up, but the wonderful Dr Patchi put a heating lamp on my back for my cramps. LUXURY I swear this was a spa like experience! Patchi is super warm & chill, and SO intuitive with her hands. She also used a tens unit which I completely love. She is so so so skilled, and that excellent skill is overshadowed in the best way by her warmth. When we were done I slowly sat up and stretched my back a bit, and felt pops where I've been really needing to feel pops! She also did some needling for an ankle I broke last year that I'm still healing, and I'm really impressed by how much that worked. Of course it isn't magic, I still have cramps and my back is still rough, but both are much much much more manageable after just one session. I was tipped off to a pay what you can day coming up soon, and I really really really appreciated that (& immediately booked a spot). Being broke sucks, this economy sucks, looking for a job sucks, and it sucks even more when you feel like you're being judged for not having much money (esp since Bushwick is turning snooty). That tip was such a compassionate move, and it's so kind that they're having to pay what you can day!!!

I typically visit Tigerlilly at least four times a year, and every practitioner has been kind, thorough, and knowledgeable of the field of Chinese medicine and acupuncture. If you're dealing with a chronic pain, stress induced inflammation, or just need to decompress, I highly recommend this place. You can feel the love and commitment to community! Her deep passion for acupuncture coupled with her attentive nature and genuine desire to help her clients really makes her stand out amongst other acupuncturists I have encountered in my past. She is very educated in what she does and always goes that extra mile with her clients to ensure they get the proper treatment they need. Over the years, I have suffered a myriad of joint-related problems ranging from my back to my neck due to multiple weight-lifting injuries and progressive arthritic pain which have required invasive surgeries. Over my long journey with Yanina, she has revitalized my chief ailments through a range of effective treatments including traditional/dry needling, cupping and light massaging. Thanks to her, I am able to continue weight-lifting (in moderation of course ) and lead a normal, functional life. It's important to note that acupuncture is not always about physical pain - it also offers tremendous relief mentally and spiritually! Yanina is incredible at offering stress-relief and spiritual healing techniques through the art of acupuncture. Even when I'm not in pain, I still enjoy the stress-relief and spiritual healing that acupuncture offers. I hold two jobs which can get very stressful at times and generate a lot of anxiety and nothing makes me feel good than to have an acupuncture treatment from Yanina just to reset and recharge myself. She is truly a talented, caring professional and would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to explore the tremendous benefits that acupuncture can offer!

Erin is truly a fantastic doula in every sense. She is knowledgable, thorough, caring and is the type of person who wants to do anything they can to help you... always going above and beyond. She would come over to help me steam and during that visit would help change the baby or help belly wrap me, or WHATEVER was needed. I felt so taken care of (which is the perfect feeling for a post partum mom). One week I had really bad headache and she even gave me a head massage with essential oils. She is a godsend. This lady is the real deal. If you're thinking of using Alayla Birth for any of your perinatal needs, do yourself a favor and use her for EVERYTHING YOU CAN! You will be glad you did.

She worked with us at night for the first 4 weeks. For some reason I just knew I could trust her. She stayed up all night and took care of my daughter. Fed her, changed her, swaddled her (tried to teach me how to do it but I can't say that I particularly excelled at it!), put her back to sleep, and sometimes just rocked her for hours if she was having tummy issues and couldn't fall asleep in her bed. I desperately needed to rest those first few weeks and having Erin there allowed me to get some sleep at night knowing everything was being taken care of. Erin would even wake me up to pump at night and with clean pumps and bottles and take care of everything so I could go right back to sleep. Erin also taught me a lot in those first few weeks of being a new mom. She taught me about breastfeeding, pumping, how to handle milk, how to ease my baby's gas, and lots more I can't remember. We are so lucky to have had her and I will forever be grateful for all her help and support.
