It basically feels like paying to hang out in an equipment room for an hour. My massage was average at best. Therapist was friendly but did not seem not trained or qualified. Worst of all, his long and sharp fingernails actually left mark on my back (see photo). Oh and after my massage as I was getting dressed I saw this guy crawling by. Not surprising at all given how gross that space is. Won't ever be coming back here and wouldn't recommend to anyone. This place clearly has fake 5 star ratings --there is nothing good about it

I have visited a few cheaper places in the area (more hand, foot and bodywork and beds separated by curtains sort of places) but more often than not I left feeling dissatisfied and in more pain than I arrived. I left Melt feeling like all of my knots had completely disappeared and in no pain at all. I saw Diane and she really listened to the areas that I wanted to focus on and what I was looking to achieve from the session. The space is really nice, with comfy heated beds and good sized, private, rooms where the treatments take place. The prices are a little high (I paid $140 for a 60 minute massage) but you really do get what you paid for. I will definitely be making a massage here part of my regular routine. One thing I would also flag is that to access the studio you do need to walk down some steps, so not very accessibility friendly. Obviously not their fault but just something to be aware of if you plan to visit.

For example both times I wasn't sure if I was allowed to just leave the room or what, they could say "you can go to the front desk whenever you're ready" or whatever, but honestly it seems like they are in such a hurry to go do whatever they need to do they mumble really fast and I'm unsure of what's expected of me. Otherwise I'm impressed. You fill out a form similar to what you do at a doctor's office, and unlike what seemingly happens I go to a normal doctor, I'm impressed because they actually consult that form both at the start and upon returning for subsequent visit, so the new therapist knows what is going on with me in advance. I'm similarly impressed with the attention to your dignity. The therapist will not see more of your body than what is necessary thanks to their mindful wrapping of your body with blankets during certain types of massages. If they're working on your leg, they only see your leg and so on. I'm surprised at how well I react to these students' work, very well done. I've only ever been to these 'chinatown' massage places and every time you just don't feel right. My body would feel awful or sore, or just you don't feel anything is really being done. Here they seem methodical and professional like they clearly know what they are doing do your body. I actually feel better, for weeks my pain will be gone and my creaky old body feels 10 years younger.

After researching physical therapists near Gramercy, I took a chance on Strive and was not disappointed! So grateful for them! I have had 4 appointments and found these positive attributes: 1) Accept Insurance- such a plus honestly! They will pair medical procedure like acupuncture tire/cupping/ chiropractor with the 30 minutes sports massage. Very transparent with prices and what insurance does and doesn't cover. 2) Always on time and efficient! I've never waited more than 5 minutes 3) I've had 4 separate massage therapists, and each one was great! Not a bad sports massage to date Only negative Ive found is as much as I can see his positive intentions, Xing Xhang LAC acupuncturist seems to rush through his procedures. Specifically with acupuncture, patient is always left with the emergency button and after 3 visits, I finally asked what to do in the event of an uncomfortable needle or emergency and he THEN went and got an emergency button. Wish I could give it 4.6 stars and not just 4 or 5....

They have chiropractors, acupuncturists, masseuses, trainers, nutrition, and physical therapists all in one place at their Midtown East location right out of the 6 train. I personally have been experiencing some lower back pain for almost a year due to improper postures and prolonged sitting. A family friend (who ran 10+ marathons) recommended Total Strive Wellness and Dr. Tiffany and my experiences so far have nothing but spectacular! I saw Dr. Tiffany Gunawardena and her colleagues, Dr. Michael Natal, Dr. Zhang, and have had massages from Christina and Zach for about two months. During my first session, someone from the front desk explained to me how my insurance works. After that, each session was a combo of chiropractic care with either massage, acupuncture and or PT as I progress in my journey. One thing I notice and appreciate the most is that the doctors have their share of/personal experiences with pain before. This makes them great doctors, as they can understand and sympathize with the patients. Coupled with their experiences and expertise, this makes them so exceptional! Dr. Tiffany has helped my back tremendously during the last two months. She has provided tips that made my work from home office ergonomic, improved my sleeping environment, recommended supplements, as well as analyzed what sports (and how much) I should and shouldn't do. Dr. Michael Natal really understands and has had a lot of experiences treating back conditions such as mine. He was able to pinpoint and massaged out my knots and significantly improved my pain, in addition to teaching me the core exercises. After two months, one of the most obnoxious knot that was lingering in my lower right back has dissolved. I woke up this morning feeling like a new person. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for this team's care! To sum: - Go see Dr. Tiffany, Dr. Natal, Dr. Zhang and all the masseuses at this place!! - Trust this team's evaluations - Follow the doctors recommendations, buy their tools and make improvements in your environment - Last but not least, trust the process and do every stretch and exercise they tell you to do Cheers to people feeling better!

Coco was the first therapist who not only heard what I was saying but figured out precisely where my body was failing me. There are plenty of well-trained massage therapists who will deliver the textbook experience, but in over 20 years of various deep tissue, Thai, shiatsu, etc. massages, I can count on one hand the number of therapists with this uncanny ability to find the exact pressure points that need release. Coco is that rare person and I'd recommend her wholeheartedly. I was sore, to be sure, but that night I slept without pain for the first time in months. The booking experience is entirely online (though I suppose you can call). The ambience is chill vibes. Would definitely recommend and repeat if the need arises again.

I had previously seen a physical therapist over 4 visits, to no relief, and never considered sports massage therapy. I booked with Vincent for my third visit after reading reviews about his ability with shoulder pain specifically. After two visits with Vincent over the course of 3 -4 months, my shoulder pain has gone away. Crazy thing is I don't even know when it went away. But I do know that after both visits I felt better circulation. Something, I can't say what exactly, but something always felt better. I did like the first two therapists and felt I was on the right track with sports massage, but I had the best connection with Vincent. One year later, which was last week, I went to see him again for overall upper body health and circulation. Vincent is professional, kind, and is knowledgeable about human physiology. Unfortunately he no longer services 34th St, only the 54th location. I recommend Vincent and all the staff at Body Mechanics.
