I had a very disappointing experience with Sako Auto Body. After someone hit my parked car outside…read moremy apartment, I took it to them for repairs. From the start, things went wrong. They ordered the wrong wheel, installed it anyway, and returned the car to me claiming the job was complete. Worse still, after taking my car to the dealership for a follow-up inspection, the technician discovered damage to the front axle, hub, and bearing--despite the accident occurring in the rear. Sako Auto Body had completely missed this or refused to address it, leaving me to cover those costly repairs out of pocket. On top of all that, the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) warning light is now permanently on--something that wasn't an issue before the accident or before they worked on the car. Overall, I found their service careless and unprofessional. I wouldn't trust them again and can't recommend them to anyone looking for quality and accountability.

I took the car to Mike's Auto Body, since they were good to me when I went to them 10 years ago. Mike was very personable then. I dread going through the process of getting quotes etc. knowing that the price and time would be an inconvenience to my busy work schedule. I drove my car in, hoping they'd give me a quick estimate at best and an appointment for (an estimate) another time at worst. Eric came straight out, looked over what needed to be done (I also asked for some scratches to be buffed out) and gave me an estimate of time and price. The guys took my trim off whilst I waited, then I left to return a couple of weeks later to have the license plate and trim reattached, as well as scratches buffed out. Some of the scratches were pretty bad, but the staff warned me not to expect them to be perfectly removed, which was what I'd already suspected. For the price, they did a great job. Often times, I expect to be denigrated in one way or another (it's just my experience in life) when I seek service for my car, renovations to my house, etc... however, the staff at Mike's Auto Body have always been respectful toward me. Mike gave me the confidence to go back this time, so I assume the professional and respectful behaviour comes from the top down. I truly won't go anywhere else. The price, though excellent, was secondary to the professionalism and respect the staff show me.

Dave's a knowledgeable, effective, and HONEST independent mechanic. He's provided service to my…read more2003 Honda Civic and my 2012 Subaru Outback for the last several years. Dave understands that, as a customer, you may want options in your repair. In other words, you may not want to spend $2,000 on a repair for a car that is fifteen years old. He also has been able to solve mysterious mechanical issues that other mechanics could not sleuth out. Most recently, we brought our Subaru into Dave at Middlesex(the owner/mechanic) due to a squeaking sound that we were hearing when traveling at about 65-70 mph. Dave thought that this was a transmission issue that was a known trouble spot for my make and model. I was slightly over the warranty miles, but Dave advised me to call Subaru of North America anyway to see if they could work with me(warranty-wise) on the potential replacement of the transmission since this was a known issue. This process took a little while and Dave coached me a few times during this process. At the end of the day, Subaru covered the transmission replacement 100%. Dave's knowledge and advice saved me thousands of dollars despite the fact that Subaru would have to do that work themselves and Dave wouldn't see any work from it. On a side note, Middlesex Auto is in downtown Melrose. This is super convenient for anyone who lives in Melrose. It is also steps away from buses and the Commuter Rail if you have to leave your car.
