This is probably one of the best restaurants in the world when you factor in the value of what you get for the price. If you ate here every day you could be a very healthy person. The meats are amazingly fresh, and the portions are a very good size. The quality is absolutely outstanding, in general, but for the Philippines, it's on another level, it is really in a class of its own. There's only a handful of other places in Manila with a similar attention to detail, and especially, with similar quality red meat. I wish there was a Karnevore back in America. I'm a member of private dining clubs that cost anywhere from 9,500 pesos a year to 8,000 pesos a month, and the food at Karnevore is equivalent, and in some cases better, than at those clubs. It's just much healthier and a better value for what you get. I go to another Karnevore also, by the Ronac Art Center, and it's just as good. Karnevore recently started offering franchise opportunities, and I just hope that in my lifetime, one of these comes to Austin, TX or any other city I am living in. It's very difficult to find healthy, amazing, delicious food in restaurants anywhere in the world, but even more so in the Philippines. Most of the food in restaurants here in the Philippines is a bunch of cheap carbs or fried junk that kills you slowly or at least makes your mind less sharp and your body malnourished. Most restaurants, everywhere, serve the lowest quality ingredients at the highest price they can sell it for, but not Karnevore, this restaurant is a rare exception to that, with high quality at a low price. If you want to eat like this, you usually have to cook it yourself, but Karnevore managed to bring this to the market, and incredibly, at such an inexpensive price for such high quality. It's perfect for those of us that value quality, delicious nutrition. This is the kind of food you want to eat if you want to always be in a balanced mood, to make good personal and financial decisions.

The name "Karnevore" is enough to warrant a visit, so I'm glad that I finally did! My friends and I tried the following: Chicken Yakitori: my least favorite because it had a bitter after taste. However, I do think it's a great partner to alcoholic drinks. Pork Face Buns: FOR THESE ALONE KARNEVORE GETS A FIVE! Haha! They're so good, I thought they had potatoes! :D I'd gladly eat the patties with rice, but the bread that goes with these are also good! Cuapao meets falafel ang peg! Bolognese Pasta: not a fan, but it's quite meaty. Tommy Chops and Regular Ribeye: I LOVED THESE. Very flavorful and best eaten with their equally delectable mashed potatoes! I also loved the grilled vegetables as well, especially the French beans! Balanced diet naman, right? :D Spicy Buttered Pork Ribs: innovative, but a little too sweet. The spiciness was good, though, as well as the curry leaves! I'd definitely recommend this place to my other foodie friends. It has so much potential to be one of the best places to eat in Marikina! :)

From the outside vantage point, this restaurant looked like a pares store or something you wouldn't think serves good food. It is al fresco and the "doors" are replaced with nets or kulmabo, at least there won't be mosquitoes here. Apparently, looks can be deceiving, and the quote "don't judge a book by its cover" can be used here. We were invited by the owners to try their offerings. We were served with meats (well, it is karnevore) like ribs, chops, and steaks. So here are some of the things we tried: - Chicken Yakitori Platter (Php125) - probably the only poor tasting in the menu. The chicken was quite dry and tough, though flavors are good. - Spaghetti Bolognese - a delight to carnivores, this pasta dish is served with the traditional bolognese sauce made with tomatoes and beef. Karnevore's version is topped with a giant meatball. So that's a lot of beefy goodness for you. - Pork Face Buns (Php125) - 3 pieces of these roasted sisig sandwiched between a white steamed bun that has been lathered with peanut sauce. The cucumber in it gave a clean and refreshing taste. They might look small, but they fills you up quick. = Ribeye Steak (Php305/245) - juicy and tender steak that is so flavorful you wouldn't believe how inexpensive it is. - Tommy Chop (Php185) - the best dish of the day. The ratio of fat to meat is proportionate. The meat is very tender and is herbilicious. You can eat it on its own, but the gravy adds a little flavor. I recommend dipping the meat in gravy. The mashed potato it is served with is very creamy and good. - Spicy Buttered Pork Ribs (Php195) - unique Karnevore, this sweet and spicy dish is very addicting because of its flavors. The cereals gave it crunch, and the meat is tender as well. Perfect to be paired with beer. This pulutan can go to the books. Karnevore is a no frills, no-nonsense resto that aims to serve quality and delicious meats that is affordable. They have promos for students or customers with a lower budget. Surprisingly cheap, this is a must-try if you happen to drop by Marikina, I'm sure the trip would be worth it. I did, and I'm from Binondo.

Obviously, they offer wings and steaks (try their Porterhouse Steak baby) pero meron din naman silang salad, sandwich, pasta, different sides and some desserts. Hindi pa masyadong malawak (parang hacienda lang eh hahaha) yung menu nila pero basta kumakain ka ng steak at wings (baka lumipad ka teh) solved ka na dito! Limited lang yung parking slots (3 or 4 na sasakyan lang ata) and it's a little bit pricey for me (yung rice around P40-P50 na). But if you're looking for a new place to try with your friends or family, okay naman dito.

The layout and offerings pretty much mirror what's offered in the US. The only unavailable item is the Cactus blossom (fried onion bloom). Instead, they offer onion frizzles as a substitute. A few things to mention. You will experience sticker shock due to the fact that: #1.) Steak is hard to come by in the Philippines (could be a cultural thing) and #2.) Expect the meat cuts to be rather thin. #3.) Drinks are not as boozy. My husband ordered a Raspberry Margarita and although it had great flavor, the booze was lacking. Flavor is definitely present but for the price Americans pay for steak versus the Philippines, there is a high premium.

Also got the steak and was served without any A1 sauce. Server was way too concerned about cleaning the table when we were done- we paid our bill and were still seated and the guy already started clearing the table, grabbing our plates as it passed by our faces. As a side note, while eating our dinner, they seated a party of 6 in a booth that can only seat 4 and I saw the group looked annoyed that they're elbow to elbow in their seat that they themselves asked the server to move them to a bigger table. Poor customer service and to top it off, the food was meh.
