Good Communication. 7. Decent waiting room. 6 Nice Owner. Recently, I got my wife's Volkswagen Golf R engine bay steam cleaned here. Earlier this year I had the car detailed somewhere else because I didn't know about Karmichael Auto Salon. I wish I did, because this shop is much nicer than the other two detailing places I have tried since moving to Everett recently. (I get my Mustang detailed too) The two other detailers off the 99 highway did a pretty good job. But i'll be taking my car to Karmichael for the next polish/wax. I was happy with how clean the engine looked(see pictures) and their pricing is the same or cheaper than what I have experienced before. I used to patronize detailers in San Diego where I'm from as well. So I know what good value is. Also, I liked that I got a call back by the owner when I called right when they opened and nobody answered. He is at the shop with the detailers and will take care of you and your vehicle. Quote from owner Mike McCalmon: "Maybe if you had a 2027 Ferrari with 2k miles on it, your claims of damage would be more believable and we would have done a more thorough before-and-after inspection." Mind you...I drive a BMW X5. No it's not a Ferrari, but it is a luxury vehicle. If you choose to use Mike and his shop, make sure you document every inch and every panel of your vehicle BEFORE handing over your keys; because if something comes back damaged be prepared for an uphill battle. After emailing Mike several photos of the damages, Mike proposed I personally bring him photos of my interior pre-detail. When I arrived and provided Mike with the exact information he requested; rather than taking accountability, his first response was "Isn't it weird that you have photos of all the areas you claim we damaged?" Like, why would you ask me for photos, then claim it's weird I have them when I provide them to you??? Make it make sense! Mike further stated "I don't know when these pictures were taken...this damage could have happened before you bought the car" I told Mike the date of the photos to which he said he could not trust the date of the photos, nor the care of the vehicle while in the dealerships possession...Mind you, I bought the vehicle the day it was brought in to the dealership, and I haven't even owned my car for two weeks. My temporary license plates are still on the car. He then stated he "seriously doubted" the damage occurred in his shop SIMPLY because there were multiple affected areas, as if his team is somehow incapable of making more than one mistake? He then doubled & tripled down by saying "my shop uses 'x,y and z' materials," and "the person who detailed your car has 12 years experience," further implying that the damage was already there. Mike weirdly shares that his team even recalled several pre-existing conditions of my interior by memory, but somehow failed to mention or notate the very ones I was bringing to his attention. He proceeded to walk around my car to point out imperfections on my rims, which I never accused his shop of causing or even brought to his attention? I was very confused by this... He continued dismissing my claims by highlighting the age of my car (2016); which somehow negates the possibility of new damage by his shop? Even mentioning that his personal vehicle has similar damage from his wedding ring, as if to say the previous owner of my vehicle also wore a wedding ring and that this damage is standard across all vehicles. After contending his assumption, He then jumped to "well people have finger nails too." After that comment, I knew it was a dead end road trying to reason or get any sort of reimbursement from Mike. Learn from my mistake and document everything before you do business with Mike. Or drive a 2027 Ferrari with 2k miles. I guess those are the conditions in which your car gets the care it deserves. I now have to come $500 out of pocket to fix the damages of a $400 service. read more

We took our brand new vehicle here for a ceramic coat a couple months ago. We noticed that the finish wasn't smooth like it was supposed to be. Took it to another company who is certified with this process and we were told that there had not been any prep work, and no top coat applied. Since this happened, we have heard many negative stories about Karmichael's. Wish we would have asked around before dropping $$$ with them. read more

Edit: See invoice, I was charged $364.95! But will look for an adjustment on my credit card - thanks Mike! My car is clean yet upon picking up the vehicle, I noticed a very strong odor - the same one as in the shop, similar to nail polish remover. I called and spoke with Michael, the owner. At first he was sympathetic yet never fully believing my car smelled...in his words, "no one has ever complained about it before". He offered to have me drop the car back off - keeping it over night so they could try to understand where the smell was coming from. Unfortunately, we were leaving the following morning for a 5 hour road trip. My son and I returned to the shop to try & figure out what cleaning products were used to understand how to neutralize the smell. I spoke with an employee who said he wasn't sure either. Micheal called me back and asked if I was just in the shop, I explained I was and the reason why. This is where he lost me as a customer, on the first call he suggested I park my car in my garage with the windows down to try and air it out (we did do this)....good thing I had this option. On the second after I returned to the shop, he said, "you spoke to one of my employee's - he doesn't understand, laughing...English is his second language" Hey Mike, my son's is fluent is Spanish - you jerk! Then the gaslighting started....saying my son and I must have unusually sensitive noises...he doesn't know what to tell me, he didn't smell anything unusal, no one has ever complained before, this is the first time he's heard of a customer's car smelling....when I said I sort of expected my car to smell like a new car smell or vanilla, Mike said they don't use airfresheners for this reason, people are sensitive to smells (Duh). The gaslighting continued with how he understands how bad finger nail polish smells, he hates it when his wife paints her toes around him (sigh) but that nothing they use to clean cars smells like that, I don't know what to tell you. After listening to him trying to gaslight me further...I hung up on him. My car IS clean yet the car & my garage smells like his shop. We have had to delay leaving on our trip as I called in a favor at the salon at the ProClub in Redmond (where I usually get my vehicle cleaned) & they were able to give me a neutralizing spray which seems to be working. He lost me as a customer. Its not worth the price and definitely not worth the hassel of dealing with Mike. read more

So I used there self serve car wash, might I add token use only and it ate it at first then it worked again then it left my car soap filled and dirty still will not be back again, karmichael step it up or close it down Michael: yes you are correct if is at the harbor point location, the problem was the coin machine for token are out dated and jammed in all but one of the bays, and yes if you are the property/business owner everything should work and be in adequate shape for you customers to uSe. The soap was left due to only having 2:00 minutes and the token operator inn bay 2 was not responding. I am not the only one that was left in this position either, many customers ran into the same problems. Additionally, there were no signs posted about up and coming repairs to equipment or anything of the nature. Honestly, I hope it does get brought up to date and fully functional again. This was my first experience having one of my cars professionally detailed and let me just say: I love my cars and I feel like I do a really good job cleaning them myself and take really good care of them, but wow. My car has NEVER been this clean. Ever. They're professionals for a reason. My car pretty much looks brand new even though it's 8 years old, I couldn't be happier. Not a speck of dust to be found and even the carbon fiber trim feels polished with a mirror finish. These guys do a great job, I would definitely recommend them. I paid for the $99.95 Shampoo Seats detail for my civic, which stated in the description "vacuum seats & carpets shampoo seats..." It looks like they did - sort of - shampoo the seats, but the drivers seat was still really dirty. :-( The passenger seat looked good, which was the dirtier seat when we dropped the car off. The carpets were still full of dead leaves and dirt. I put two stars since the passenger seat looked good, but it definitely wasn't worth the $99.95+tax. read more

Had my $148k car in at the Tesla Service Center due to a mold problem and they called Karmichael out to remediate. The owner of Karmichael was the one who came out and all he did was vacuum the carpets and charged me $300! When I got the car back I took it to Karmichael and asked them to do more to remediate the problem, and was referred to the owner. He said it would cost more so I suggested I should complain to Tesla about this. Then he actually told me to 'go F___ myself and get the F___ off of his property'! Thief. Avoid at all costs. Edit: As a reply to the below by Mike M., See? This is how he is. I gave the objective facts, and he responds by thoroughly smearing my high-end car and myself personally. None of his staff were present during his profane phone call, and I quoted his final statement exactly except for sparing the public his expletives. Use at your own risk. read more

Our car dealer sent our brand new Forester here when it had some scratches from shipment. We got the car back and it looked fantastic. All of the microscratching on the hood and body panels was gone. The interior had clearly had every inch examined with care. There was one deeper scratch that didn't come out with the detail, which wasn't their fault. Even though it couldn't be removed, they did a great job minimizing its appearance. (In this case the dealership will have that panel replaced.) I take off one star because the car has monitoring systems installed, so I was able to check on it while it was being worked on. They left the car idling with its engine on for over four hours and used almost three gallons of gas. As a new car with only 400 miles on it, the manual specifically recommends against leaving the car idling for extended lengths of time during the break-in period, so I'm not super happy with how the car was cared for while in their possession in that regard. read more

I brought over my 1981 Pontiac Firebird to Karmichael to have a few old emblems & stickers removed from the rear bumper, windshield, and dashboard. I was very nervous to have anyone do anything to it because the car is still in great condition with original paint & original interior. Mike assured me he would take very good care of my car and try the best he can to remove them all off. It was easy to make an appointment and Mike was so pleasant to deal with. I've never been more satisfied with a detailing shop in my life. I've been driving for about half my life, but I've only owned cars that were actually worth bringing into a detailing shop for a couple of years now. I tried a couple shops out where I live closer to Sultan when I owned my 2011 Dodge Challenger SE, but was never truly satisfied with the cost or scheduling. When I purchased my new 15' Challenger R/T (with that big beautiful Hemi) I knew that I would need one dedicated shop to do all my hand washes and detailing. I stopped in at Karmichael just up the road from my work at 9:00am on a Saturday morning without an appointment and they had my R/T hand washed and waxed and I was out the door within an hour. WHO DOES THAT IN THIS DAY AND AGE??! Everything is always by appointment or "I'll need it for a couple of hours", but not Karmichael. Within 5 minutes they began hand washing my car and prepping it for wax. I think what impressed me most was that there were two employees working on my car at one point. Keep in mind the shop was by no means empty, there were cars parked outside and most of the bays in the shop were full. My new ride, "Valor" is my absolute baby and will never find it's way into a regular car wash -- hand wash and wax only. I'll gladly spend a little extra having peace of mind knowing that my car is in safe hands and not subject to the merciless operation of a machine. As I waited the manager Mike chatted with me about Challengers and muscle cars and even applied a new customer discount to my bill, which was really the icing on the cake for me. While I was there I noticed that Karmichael takes a proactive approach to supporting the local economy, schools and functions. Their wall of thank you cards is just as impressive as the work they do inside of the shop. Never going anywhere else but Karmichael. They took care of me very well. Gave them a try even after they damaged my bosses vehicle during a routine detail. They ran it right into a pole or something & it had to be fixed at the auto body shop. Of course they paid for it. Back to my car. I went because I won a gift card. They were so busy tending to the numerous dealership cars that I was stuck waiting for quite awhile before they even got to my car. Attention to detail is not their specialty. I noticed this right as I got in and saw the french fry that was still stuck between the console and the drivers seat. CORVETTE owners have an old question: What do you call a $30 car wash? Answer: a good start. But at Karmichael it's not even that. Poor quality service and even when I pointed out the horrible finished job, the manager said. " it's because of the 'hard water' on Whidbey". I had really low expectations of this place based on previous reviews, but wow. I thought they would at least clean the obvious stuff. I paid $200 for an interior detail. I should have given the neighbor kids a vacuum, some paper towels, windex and some ice cream cones and could have got a cleaner truck. To my surprise, my wheels were cleaned and polished. I wish they would have just cleaned the interior like I paid for. Don't waste your money here. Give it to someone who actually cares about cleaning your vehicle. read more

I paid over $350 for the full detailing. The carpets looked amazing, as did my leather interior. BUT....... The outside? Not so impressive. My hood has wax streaks all over it because they couldn't wait to let the wax fully dry before buffing. Now I have to go somewhere else to pay someone else to fix the easiest thing about a detail job. My wheels were still filthy, and they didn't even wipe down my windshield. I purchased a second hand car three years old. It had a few small scratches and blemishes. After parking at the airport a couple of times I acquired more. One from the front fender to the rear fender. All the way down the passenger side of the car. Karmichael repaired them all. With one detail and some buffing of the paint. The car looks like it just came off the show room floor. No scratches. No blemishes. No rub marks on the finish. My car will be back to visit Karmichael every year. Thank you for your excellent work. I took my Ford 150 in to Karmichael's in Mukilteo this week for a wash and wax. I had been weighing the decision to do this myself with a friend who has an orbital buffer. When I told my "car" friend I was taking it here he scoffed at the low price.. saying there was no way they break out a buffer to do wax at that price. He checked out my truck after the job and the only critisizm he had was the amount of stuff they had sprayed on the wheels which had spotted the truck while moving a bit. The truck looks great. I couldn't have asked for a better deal to get my truck a bit of protection for winter. Customer service was great all three times I was in! The car wash in front of Karmichaels I do not think is affiliated with them so really should not be counted against this detail shop. read more

Dropped off my poorly maintained 01 Taurus to have it fully detailed so we could give it to our daughter. OMG, what an awesome job they did! It looks like a brand new car. I have had three details over four years here. Jessie and the detailets are Amazing. Stay clear of Mike the manager. He is a nasty ugly argumentative unethical guy Who lies I've spent almost $300 for a full detail and all of the karmichaels detail shops include any touchups on the paint chips. I went to go in to get it done at 9am today and he had real attitude when he approached my car and he scheduled me out two weeks just to do what would of taken five minutes when I got there today he started arguing and telling me he was only gonna touch up two of the chips. I never had issues with anyone here in years past this is first time meeting him I wouldn't ever bring my children with me around a guy like that to get my car detailed my recommendation is to stay away from him and karmichaels due to him he is a poor representation of his dads company. Mike ended up tossing Back the paint pen at me in my car and was very rude and went inside. He would not do the touch up paint even though I've already paid for the detail. i was told by Jesse that I could come in anytime and they would touch up as it's customary. The xpress lube next to it advised me that at least 2 times a week they have angry people thinking that they own the car wash but they don't Karmichaels does...the car wash eats your money and I left a not and no one ever called me back. I have been here 3 times. 1st time was to get over spray removed from my vehicle. They failed to do a proper job. I ended up taking it Metropolitan Detail to get the over spray removed. About a year latter I decided to try them out again. This time just a basic hand car wash. After I got home I saw they missed multiple areas around the rims, bumper, and trim lines. I decided to try them one last time out of convenience on a basic hand car wash. When I arrived I showed the attendant what areas were missed at my visit 3 weeks ago. He assured me that those areas would be cleaned. After I got home I did a walk around AND THEY MISSED THE SAME AREAS AGAIN!! For a detail shop there is a serious lack of detail. Never again will they get my money. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

The name says it all "Salon" its not a true DETAIL shop by any means. I took two vehicles in. A Ford F350 and a Denali. They missed the detail part on so many levels its not funny. For the $250 I paid for each vehicle it makes me sick, It is a glorified car wash. Pink Elephant is a match for a fraction of the cost. I have had detail shops I paid $100-$150 do much better jobs. I reccommend a real detail shop over this auto salon in Mukilteo. Don't waste your money here unless you don't mind dissapointment. read more

Did a great job getting stains out of off-white leather seats in a 3 month old Ford Fusion. Blue jeans stains on one seat and a wood handle stain on the other resisted anything I tried to get them out, but Karmicheal's came through and got them like new again. A well done hand wax at the same time brought the Fusion back to showroom condition. Recommended, thanks! read more

I just had my 2002 4runner detailed and I am extremely pleased with what a Fabulous job they did. They were able to make her look like new again! I have never had her detailed before and only ran it through car washes, and maybe a quick vacuum a few times, so I wasn't expecting them to be able to bring the beauty back to her. Paint, carpets, headliner, engine, everything looks new! Everyone was friendly and courteous and eager to please. And she was done when promised. Highly Recommended! read more
