I booked this shuttle in December 2011 for a trip to SNA in June 2012. Just before my trip, the airline changed my flight number, but I didn't think anything about it because my flight would be arriving at the same time. The day of the trip, the flight was delayed for several hours. Upon arriving at SNA, I called Karmel from the baggage claim as instructed. At that point I was informed that I had given them a "bad flight number" and that they had had a driver waiting for me at the airport for an hour at the original scheduled arrival time, and that I had been charged. I was also informed that they would not be coming back to retrieve me, unless I paid again. When asked why they did not try to contact me when I did not show up at the appointed time, I was informed that "they are busy and cannot call every customer." Yet, they had time to send a driver...but not time to call the airline to attempt to resolve the flight number issue, or me to see where I was? Upon my request, I was transferred to the manager, who horrified me with his "customer service." He informed me that this situation was all my fault and that I "didn't know how to travel," before hanging up on me. I was left truly speechless. read more

Service very erratic, especially on airport pick ups. Phone operators argue with you & always have excuses for missed pick ups. Have used this service several times, but no more. Gave them every chance. Drivers generally courteous @ helpful, hence the 2 stars. But as i wait for them again ( at the airport). going on 45 minutes now, I will try a different service next time. read more

Awful. Absolutely awful. The driver was rude and mean to my handicapped father. Do not use this service!

You get what you pay for is an understatement. We called to let the van know we were ready for pick up and 50 minutes later still waiting. When we called the dispatch his reply was " things happen". Really? If the tables were turned and we left them waiting for 50 minutes, well they would just leave. What a joke. Will NEVER use this company again. I would have preferred to leave no stars just based on the dispatcher I talked to on the phone....Go with supershuttle. SO MUCH BETTER! read more

I booked a pickup on line. After entering my flight information, I selected the suggested pickup time of 8am and was to arrive at LAX at 9:15. My flight was at 11:15. All was fine till the driver arrived late. I was concerned but figured that even with this, I could still make my flight. After departing the driver told me that he had another pickup. I knew that if he did this, I would miss my fight and called dispatch. Dispatch assured me that I would be at the airport on time. Pleaded with him and after a while was told that the van was going to the additional location and if I didn't want to go there, get out. There was no way to arrange alternate transportation and just hoped for the best. Well I missed my flight and the next was oversold. I was going to a special occasion and totally stressed while waiting 4 hours for the next flight, that would get me into Philly after midnight. Not safe but was desperate. While waiting called Karmel customer service and after a lot of discussion, refunded my shuttle cost. Like this was fine after what I was being put through and when I would be incurring additional charges. I will never use them again. read more

Was not booked properly by travel agent so they had incorrect flight details. Rang and was told they could have a van in 20 minutes. One promptly arrived in 15. Was taken to and from hotel in timely safe manner with cheerful service. Thank you. read more

I booked Karmel Shuttle for my recent solo trip to Anaheim from LAX. I picked Karmel over some less expensive shuttles because I didn't want to have to circle LAX looking for other passengers to fill the van, as I'd heard some shuttles will do. With Karmel I was assured by the person who took my reservation that there would be only one other party in the van (if at all). This, to me, was worth the additional expense. I called them when I got outside the Baggage Claim area and in about 10 minutes the van showed up. The dispatcher told me which van number and color to look for, which was helpful because there were many kinds of shuttle vans driving past. I was the only passenger on this ride, and in about 40 minutes I was at my hotel. The driver was polite and not chatty. On the way back to LAX, I called to reconfirm and was told to be outside about 15 minutes earlier than my scheduled time, as there was another party being picked up at my hotel. This was fine with me. The return ride to LAX was also very pleasant. If I have the need for a shuttle out of LAX again I will definitely choose Karmel. read more

This company had an employee who used our debit card fraudulently. She stole money from us and the response from the manager of Karmel Shuttle was thank you for telling us. No offer to reimburse for their poor security measures. WATCH your bank statements if you choose to use this company. Less than honest people working there. read more

Drivers not to be trusted! We have used Karmel for years, but will never again. Last year, after our trip our credit card was compromised. There was no proof it was our driver, but there was no other explanation as we had not used our credit card for anything on our vacation except the shuttle. This weekend we arrived home from our trip and the driver drove off with our carry on bag. We called and he was asked to return. The bag came back with all of our souvenirs missing. Will never use them again. If you choose to, use caution! Check your bags and watch your credit card statements! Drivers are not to be trusted! read more

You mean to tell me that I had to pay $58 for a bus that turned up 45 mins late only after we contacted your company to find out where the driver was. To find the driver was incapable of lifting bags or organize anything. Our bell captain at the hotel had to take over and organize the bags !! And then to finally get to the airport to have the drive rudely ask for a tip !! You've got to be joking !! I will never use your company again and I will never recommend it to anyone. read more

We used this company to pick us up from LAX to Anaheim and also return- everything was smooth and as expected but there were no delays in our flights either. The driver was prompt and polite on both trips. We used the company again for a private charted trip to Los Angeles Staples Centre for an ice hockey game from Anaheim but had asked the company to drive us to a few well-known sights around LA before the game. There did seem to be a bit of miscommunication from the company to the driver as he had no idea of where he was supposed to go and also did not seem overly familiar with LA. Overall, it was still a good experience with this company. read more

We needed transport from John Wayne airport to the San Pedro pier for a cruise. A taxi was going to be about $90+tip so after reading some suggestions on the cruise discussion boards I selected the Karmel shuttle. I booked on-line. The interface was a little clunky but I got a confirmation immediately. Just as instructed, when we had our bags I called the 800 number and gave the dispatcher our confirmation number. He told me the shuttle number to watch for and sure enough In about 10-15 minutes we were on the van and on our way. There was only one other couple on board. For the return, I called in my reservation. The operator was very courteous and again I had my confirmation email in seconds. She even had my payment information from the last reservation. Once again, we called when ready for pickup and this time the wait was even less and we were the only ones on the van. The driver knew the best way to go and avoided backtracking. Reserving the Karmel shuttle is so much better than piling on one of the waiting public shuttles and I figure we saved at least $80 over the cab ride. Plus, book on-line to save a few bucks and don't worry about handing your credit card over to the driver or using up your cash. Highly recommended! I'd give them five stars, but it is just a van, not a limo. read more

If you are looking for an unsolicited political conversation at 4:30 AM this is the shuttle service for you. The gentleman just kept going even though I was not commenting back-finally I told him this was not the conversation I wanted at 4:30 in the morning. People on vacation do not typically want to talk politics. I paid for a shuttle service not your political opinion. read more

My wife and I rode Karmel Shuttle 3 times on our honeymoon in California and had a negative experience 3 times. The first time we waited at LAX for at least 45 minutes before finally getting our shuttle which had been planned months in advance. Once inside, they informed us that our card did not work despite the fact that it had all been paid ahead of time. So we had to pay again. The second time we rode, the driver was rude about our plans in LA and did not hide her opinion on the fact that she thought us seeing the Muppets live show was stupid. The third time, the driver talked our ear off the whole ride despite us making it clear we did not want to talk. With every question about our trip or sports (which we told him we weren't interested in), I could see my wife getting more and more annoyed. Completely non self-aware driver. Do not ride this shuttle service, they have no standards or quality control. read more

I never got to experience this business first hand in the shuttle, but with at least 10 unanswered/unreturned phone calls to dispute a cancellation charge (I cancelled with 8 hours notice at one of their agent's suggestion, not 12 as "required"), I am willing to bet they do not put customer service at the forefront of their business model. I will definitely use a different business in the future. read more

Drivers are hit or miss as are the vans. The first time we used them a few years ago we had a great friendly driver who was courteous and generally just a nice person. On our return flight we had a driver that kept reaching down his shirt to scratch himself, honked and yelled profanities at other drivers with my kids in the van and refused to turn on the AC and drove from LAX to HB with windows down in August! We thought just bad luck of the draw getting him. Used them again this past summer and the first driver was ok but never stopped talking about himself and all his drama with the ex-wife the whole way. The guy on the way home was a piece of work. Took him 30 min to pick us up after we called. He didnt use his GPS and kept asking my husband for directions and which freeways to take. We had prepaid for both drop off and pick up prior to our trip and included the tip so we wouldn't have to worry about having cash. This jerk actually confronted my husband about not tipping him when we were getting out of the van! I wish we wouldn't have pre-paid it because he would not have gotten one from us. A tip is earned for good service not an automatic guarantee! Will never use them again. read more

Paid the highest price (in advance) only to have to wait almost 30 minutes standing at the curb at LAX smelling and choking gas and diesel fumes. Then to be taken home after riding in a dirty Van while they made several other drops. Over two hours to get home. We could have paid about half the price at the airport and been home in 30 minutes. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH KARMEL SHUTTLE! Karmel Shuttle partners with a company called Jayride. I booked through Jayride and needed to cancel my reservation (which I already paid for) because Karmel Shuttle could not fulfill the service. The customer service center cancelled the reservation but said I would have to contact Jayride to get my money back and I have been chasing them for a week now with no customer service center to help. They have no customer service line and no one answers the contact address. Karmel shuttle was not willing to help although they partner with this company which reflects on the service they provide. I would never go back to this company!!! Its fraud! read more

Great shuttle service, on time, friendly. This shuttle service did not "circle the airport" to fill up the van. I took my daughter to Disney and we were the only two people on the shuttle both directions even so we traveled during the week of Thanksgiving. Both drivers were friendly, respectful and professional. The customer service at the 1-800 number was great. read more

I am giving them one star even though I had a great experience with Karmel on my 2nd ride with them. The 2nd driver was understandable that I was upset the 1st time around so this is more of a complaint about one particular driver and their management. I'm calling out Patrick. He showed up no problem. The issue is that I felt unsafe the entire time because he was falling asleep at the wheel. At least three times he nodded off and we veered out of the lane we were in. At one point he was on the freeway and was going about 45 mph in the Carpool lane. Cars were speeding around us using the shoulder of the road and the median between us and the other regular lanes. I reached for the wheel a couple of times and asked him if I should drive cause he needed to stay awake. Once we got off the freeway he would be approaching an intersection with a red light very fast and then slam his brakes on at the last second to avoid rear ending cars already stopped at the light. He told me that he had been working 14 hours and that he was tired. I understand this is the fault of the management and not completely on him but he should just refuse to drive when he knows he is too tired. read more

We had booked the shuttle to bring our family to SNA airport - called 48 hours in advance to confirm a party of 9. When we all got into the van, we discovered one of the seatbelts was jammed, so there were only *8* that work. The driver was nonchalant about it, saying that "it's been like that for a couple of days, but repairs are only done on Saturdays". Ironically, they even have a sticker on the inside stating that "Seatbelts are mandatory". Clearly not, otherwise they would have sent a van that was equipped properly. Don't book with them if you expect to ride safe. read more

If giving zero stars was an option I would give it zero. On my shuttle ride from LAX to the Disneyland Hotel as a single Mom with a 6 year old daughter, 2 suitcases and 2 backpacks, the shuttle driver was an hour late with no rhyme or reason nor apology from dispatch, and the driver didn't even seem to know he was picking me up or where I was going. On our return flight when I made the reservation I was told I had to be picked up at 4:50 AM for an 8 AM flight, although that seemed crazy early and miserable I agreed thinking they probably know how long it's going to take in traffic etc. At 5:05 am when my shuttle driver still had not arrived I called dispatch to inquire and they informed me I had changed my reservation to be picked up at a completely different hotel and at 2 PM that day. Blindsided I informed him that was incorrect, I have not changed hotels and that I was waiting for my shuttle driver since 450 as instructed and as per our confirmation email and online confirmation I completed. He continue to argue that no I called in on Friday and changed my reservation. I told him I could send him my phone records to prove that no phone call has been placed other than the phone call to dispatch on my arrival flight to see where my driver was on the previous Wednesday. He said well someone must have called. I let him know that was literally impossible there was not a soul who knew what shuttle company I was using for transportation. He said sorry but we cannot help you. Devastated confused and a little shaken I hung up the phone and the Disneyland bellhop hopped into action into how we were going to get me to my flight just to have Karmel shuttle pull up. I walked over and asked the driver if he was going to LAX as he was picking up other passengers, he and for me no he was going to John Wayne airport. I asked if after he was done dropping them off if he could take my daughter and I to LAX and I explain to him that there had been some mistake on their end with my reservation. He called dispatch and with nervous glances at me and several minutes of arguing with the dispatch he finally ended the call and told myself and the bellhop who is watching over sorry but he could not take me because he was not heading in that direction. He said that they will refund me for my fee and to just get to my flight and they will pay for whatever means of transportation I needed to take. Thankfully a yellow cab was sitting in the Disneyland Hotel loop hoping for this very opportunity and offered to take us for $90. I excepted and the bellhop reminded me to save my receipt for the reimbursement from Karmel Shuttle. I suddenly started receiving text messages regarding a change to my itinerary for the said time and location that the dispatcher had tried to say that I changed it to. This of course was after the pick up time and after the phone call I had made to them in the morning. After returning home I contacted Karmel to attempt my refund and reimbursement process just to have Jasmyne also try to inform me that I changed my itinerary. She asked me to forward the confirmation that showed the time of 4:50 AM and Disneyland Hotel. Before I could send the email off she forward me a change itinerary email. It was outrageous and fraud to its highest level. I forward her the correct email specifying that them sending me texts and emails after the fact was fraud. When I inquired about my reimbursement she said there was no management there and that management would contact me the following day. I received an email from management stating they would refund $45 for the return flight fee with an apology. My response was that the shuttle driver as witnessed by myself my daughter and the bellhop, had informed me that not only would I risk see if the refund on the fee but that I would be reimbursed for whatever means of transportation I had to take. I have sent three emails regarding this reimbursement and they have yet to respond. I will be reporting them as fraud and will continue to pursue my $90 taxi fee. They left us utterly devastated and scared and in a bind and I assure you that they are unreliable and fraud. Since this experience I have had another person tell me they have done the same exact thing to them as well. They didn't show up for their transportation and started mast sending changes of itinerary to try to say it was the customers fault. read more

Buyer beware. We had a return reservation from Hotel to Airport, called to confirm pickup, were told that the Website had over booked and that they could not guarantee that they could get us to the airport in time for the flight. We cancelled the reservation at that time due to this statement from their driver (who, by the way, we were told is an "independent agent"). Karmel proceeded to bill us for the return shuttle even though they could not honour the original guarantee of getting us to the airport on time. We opted for a cab, since the driver could not guarantee arrival due to over booking. read more

Would never use again. I have dealt with 3 drivers and 2 operators and only 1 operator was nice. will never use these guys ever again. long story short, were told by their driver that we didn't need to book our next service 48 hours in advance as because we were a private party we could ring the day before and book our time. We do this and get told that we aren't allowed to do this and we had to ring 48 hours previous. When I said we were told this from their driver the person I was speaking to pretty much told me that their driver was a liar and the information we were given was incorrect. Because of this we were left in limbo for hours with nothing to do and then the time they arrived to pick us up meant we got to the airport just in time for our flight. Their staff member didn't care that we wanted an earlier time, even told me that if I changed to another shuttle service she wouldn't charge us but when I asked about her word being true she was adamant that what she said goes and I could take her at her word but when it came to her driver I couldn't take them at their word. we have used this shuttle service before and never had a problem but when I am left with two children for hours after booking out of our hotel with nothing to do and then when I was delivered to the airport everything was rushed to the point I had one child in tears is not fair on me. I booked this service and paid more for private shuttles and have had the run around. I am a regular traveller and will NEVER use this shuttle service ever again. Nothing wrong with the drivers but the people that answer the phones need to learn how to treat customers because all they were interested in doing was passing me off to other people. read more

if there was zero stars that would be my choice! these people ripped us off!! we prepaid for our shuttle, yet the driver made us pay him for the ride to the hotel. he gave us a flat rate of 46 dollars. we even tipped him so he walked away with our money, did not give us a receipt and lied to the cust service manager when we called to complain. of course, customer service manager said: its his words against yours. yes, only there was four of us against him - one liar! not happy at all, we lost over 50 us dollars on these scammers read more

This company has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This past Memorial day my Mother flew in to LAX from Oregon. There was a delay in arrivals and departures due to a malfunction in air traffic control software, delaying all inbound flights for 1 hour. When my Mother arrived at the pickup location no shuttle so she waited 45 minutes before calling the dispatch number. She spoke with a dispatch manager named Anthony,he informed her that there was a "problem" with some information regarding the reservation and she could wait 2 hours for the next driver but would have to pay an additional 55.00 fee no exceptions. After a complete runaround she paid Prime Time to drive her to Orange. I contacted Karmel and spoke with the same robot named Anthony that handled my mom's complaint, he informed me that the driver was at the pickup location on time and waited an hour before finally leaving. That statement directly contradicts what he stated in the conversation with my Mom. Six days later we waited for the shuttle that was supposed to arrive at 4:30 am to drive her back to LAX never showed up...again. My mother contacted Karmel and another manager informed her that due to the "problem" with her registration the order was cancelled. She explained that she paid, has an e-mailed confirmation and reservation number but to no avail. This person,I will not reveal his name, was extremely impatient and rude. No email was sent regarding cancellation, no courtesy phone call to fix the "problem". When speaking with both so called mangers no mention of cancellation. My mother is seventy five and lost her husband a week prior to this trip, now I realize there is no way these representatives would have known all of that, but maybe they should treat people with respect and not treat their customers like cattle. Shame on you Karmel Airport shuttle of Fullerton! So let's review, no round trip shuttle,110 dollars down the drain, horrible, faceless, emotion less customer service. Consumers beware when shopping Airport shuttle services especially this one. P.S. There are apps like flight aware that are free. So when flights are delayed you (Karmel) can adjust your arrival times and properly dispatch your drivers. Oh wait, that would be to much to ask...my bad. read more

Their was a problem with the scheduling and the website in my reservation. Called to try to fix but considering I was supposed to be in CA already (whoops!) they would not modify nor cancel my reservation. They said they would be charging me the full amount despite the fact my reservation actually made NO sense and why didn't I look at it? The customer service rep demanded that I had a confirmation and so it was all my fault. The reason was my flight was not for several days so I hadn't had a chance yet to review the documentation. My bad - but obviously there was a glitch when I'm going from a hotel TO an airport and back?? And the times literally over lapped - the reservation showed 2 trips within 8 hours. Not sure that is possible. Anyways, when I said I wasn't going to pay for services not rendered they hung up on me. Not impressed. Will just take a cab instead and put in a stop payment on my CC. Obviously there was some problem on both our ends but not being willing to work with me at all to find a resolution and just being hostile doesn't win any favors. read more

We arrived and called the toll free number to get information on our shuttle number and location. They found my order but the destination was wrong so I was transferred to their customer service. We waited on the line for 10 minutes with nothing. Finally, I called again to see if I could just figure out which shuttle was ours so we could possibly work it out with the driver but was sent to customer service again. Waited on the line for 15 minutes and finally got connected. This time, they couldn't even find my order. I was transferred again and they told me I needed to pay an extra $15 for the location that I wanted to go to. After an hour of phone tag and being scolded for our driver waiting since 7, we finally decided to pay a little extra for super shuttle because I didn't think karmel deserved my extra $15 for messing up my order and failing to tell me where my shuttle was for an hour! So terrible. Just do Super shuttle. Their pricing is better anyways and they are more reputable. read more

Booked a vacation to Disneyland through our travel agent and this is the shuttle service that was included in our package. I confirmed online before we left with ease, called when we arrived at LAX. Waited approximately 10 minutes for our van. On the way back to the airport, called to confirm the shuttle 2 days before and on the day of departure, waited approx 10 minutes for our shuttle at the hotel. Both drivers were very friendly and professional. Vans are clean and seem to be well cared for. In the past we have always had the bus as our shuttle to our hotel. I actually prefer Karmel as it is a 9 passenger van so you don't have to make a bunch of stops on the way to your hotel. On the way to our hotel, there was one other family of 4 so only 1 stop and on the way back to the airport, there was a family of 2 already in the van. Would definitely recommend this service and would definitely use them again. read more

Had a Karmel driver in van number 419 pick us up from LAX at around 11:30pm on Sat 8 April 2017 for transfer to Anaheim. All he was interested in was getting us there as fast as he could so he could get home before 1:00am. Said the trip normally takes 45 minutes but he would do it in 30 minutes. That meant driving very fast and at times at what felt like unsafe speeds. This was despite the fact that I had my two young daughters in the van. He was also very happy to take his eyes off the road to change his rap music videos on his iPad even though he was driving at high speed. When I suggested that it wouldn't matter if the trip took a little longer (as an attempt to slow him down) all he said was "we WILL get there in 30 minutes". It was a great relief to reach our hotel after a pretty scary ride. Not a great first experience with Karmel. I seriously think this driver put our lives at risk. read more

I booked this shuttle through a website that provides travel services to Disneyland. The driver and other employee seated in the passenger seat, while both friendly and professional, arrived late which added confusion as other shuttles were trying to solicit us as we waited.Once we were picked up the driver got lost to the Disneyland Resort. We did u-turns and drove through neighborhoods. When we finally arrived at the Disneyland Hotel the driver pulled into the wrong area. Hotel valets were telling him to move and the driver said it was his first time there. The two Karmel employees then unloaded our items and got out of there quickly. I realized at once they had not unloaded one of our bags.I phoned Karmel Shuttle immediately and the employee while courteous was unable to get through to the driver. Because this bag was our most important, filled with passports, phones, tablets, etc., I phoned back after I did not received a return call. A different employee answered and yelled at me saying it was my fault for not getting my bag. I was told to call back in a few hours which I did. I then was told I had to pay $40 to have my bag returned. Karmel had already collected my return fare so I asked if I could apply the return rate for that, I was told no.I paid the $40 to get my bag back that they failed to unload. My bag was returned nearly 8 hours later and they were late bringing it back. They were supposed to be there at 3:30pm with my bag and did not arrive until after 4pm. I made a reservation for Karmel with much trepidation. After reading many reviews here on Yelp, it seemed like I was in for a bad experience, but nevertheless made the order because I knew I wouldn't be in a rush, and still didn't want to pay as much as a Taxi would cost. Nothing in the experience was like the negative reviews I've read. I made a reservation for a trip from LAX to Anaheim and back. In both directions, the shuttle arrived quickly. From LAX I made a call and 10 minutes later the shuttle was there to pick me up, on the way back the shuttle arrived two minutes before its designated time. In both cases the van was clean and the driver was very nice. Drove well and safely, and arrived promptly at its destination. It was all just the way it is supposed to be. The only negative feedback I have is about one of the phone representatives that was not nice while I made some inquiries before making the reservation. But assuming my experience is representative of what Karmel is like these days, I can definitely recommend them. read more

Plane was grounded from new York to Chicago, so we had to be transferred to another flight. we ended up having to go thru Denver, so when we arrived in LAX it was 11.30pm. By the time we finished getting our bags the lady at the airport was kind enough to ring for the shuttle, when I jumped on the phone the person on the other end was rude telling me that I was late for pick up. When I explained that our plane was grounded and that we had to be transferred to another flight he said he didn't know what grounded meant and its not his problem that we missed our transfer. I tried to tell him what was happening but he said I should go outside and look for another shuttle and to pay for it myself if I wanted to get one right away. I asked if I would get my money back and he had the gall to say I need to see my booking agent. I told him we have already paid for your service and how soon would a shuttle arrived. He told me I had to ring him back at 2.30am and he would let me know when the driver would be there. It's just after midnight and he's telling me I have to ring back at 2.30am. I was tired and angry so by then I couldn't get a hold of anyone, so rang back at that time and a driver arrived at 3am to take us to our hotel. When you have a 10 year old daughter with you trying to get to your hotel you would think that the service would at least show some concern. Obviously not. We are suppose to be using this service to return us to LAX, but if my booking agent can get us a return we definitely will not be using this shuttle service ever again... read more
