I was really unimpressed with Karmel Shuttle Services, we flew into Long Beach Airport and had pre reserved and pre paid for our shuttle service, the service actually went an uber to pick us up, the driver was nice enough but I expected a shuttle service I could have arranged an uber myself at a lower cost. Our return shuttle was rescheduled and again prepaid and the driver was almost 30 minutes late picking us up for the airport. The driver informed us there was construction on the way. I feel like it's literally your only job to be aware of those things and make arrangements for it. We paid a 80.00 fee to be picked up and driven 15 miles, where I live there is a DOT app that shows your route and any construction or accidents etc there are also multiple apps like waze that will inform a person of this type of thing. read more

We used Karmel for the first time because of their high ratings on Yelp. We thought they were great! Bill actually came to our home in south Orange County 10 minutes EARLY but waited outside politely, not even ringing the bell. They did all the luggage smoothly, showed us a faster way to get into LAX, and we didn't need to share the ride! Jerome picked us up at LAX within about 10 minutes of us calling them to notify we were done with customs, and we didn't need to walk to the center island. He found us by the curb, was very pleasant, and even had his ipod playing soft and interesting tunes. Again, we were his only drop off. We usually have used Super Shuttle in the past, but from now on, it's Karmel for us! read more

We used Karmel recently because it was a local business and it had high ratings on Yelp. Our driver was punctual and got us to LAX in more than enough time for our flight to the East Coast. Unfortunately, we ran into some bad weather coming back from Maryland and were delay over an hour. When we finally landed just after 1 am, we only had to wait a few minutes for our driver to bring us home. Seeing a very tired and exasperated family, our driver got us home in about half an hour. We are very thankful to Karmel for their courtesy and punctuality and will be using them many times in the future. read more

I too have used Karmel on previous trips and found them to be reliable but also no more. I have now had two experiences with this company that I felt compelled to write this review. We use this company when we go to Catalina for the Jazz Festival. The first incidence we called the company and they told us the number of the van that was picking us up at the Catalina Express Terminal. We came out to the front of the terminal and saw our van - our driver was loading luggage for another group. I explained that we had the reservation. It was pretty obvious he was just going to take whoever showed up first with some money. The second incident just happened to us on a return trip from Catalina Island. We had a reservation for a pick-up at the Catalina Express Terminal at 1:10 p.m. We were outside at curbside exactly on time. There were several Karmel shuttles that loaded up and took off. We approached one shuttle that was still waiting but they said they were going to John Wayne Airport. Another shuttle came up and I showed him my reservation and he tried to contact the company but couldn't come up with a shuttle for us. I called the company and eventually got through to them and they finally got a shuttle to us after a half hour wait. This in itself wouldn't have caused me to write this review but when I called the company to ask where my driver was they lied to me that their shuttle could not park outside the terminal and wait for me when the Karmel shuttle going to John Wayne airport had been sitting at the curb in front of the terminal the whole time we were waiting for someone to pick us up! Plus we were out there exacly when the reservation stated we would be there. I will not give this company any stars because I will not support a company that lies to me to explain their ineptitude. read more

The good: on our outbound flight the driver was 15 minutes early for pickup, and we got a private ride even though we only paid for 'shared' service. The bad: the female driver wouldn't put our suitcases in the van, citing that they weighed over 30lbs. While true (one was 37lbs, the other 42lbs) this isn't typical. What's worse is that when we arrived at the airport, she made us unload all of our luggage (including carry-ons), and then stood there waiting for a tip. Even worse, when our return flight arrived on schedule at LAX, we called Karmel Shuttle and they were "about 30 minutes away". AKA they hadn't even left their facility in Fullerton (this was at 1am and no traffic to be an excuse). Summary: with a value service, you get what you paid for. Probably better to do Super Shuttle, because at least you don't have to wait outside at the airport for your ride to arrive. read more

We have just returned from LA and used this company to get us from LAX to hotels in Long Beach, to visit Disneyland, transfer acorss town to West Hollywood and return to LAX. All the drivers were great - good drivers and friendly. The vehicles were all in great order and very clean. The 1800 number was easy to use and the dispatchers were helpful and provided clear instructions about where to wait to be collected. I would use this company again when in LA and highly recommend them to others. They are head and shoulders above similar companies in otehr large cities. read more

Wrong shuttle going to a different airport showed up late. Ended up having to get a cab last minute instead. After calling and speaking with Stephanie, she told me I should have waited longer as they can be late. She also refused to refund the $50 dollar charge. Don't use them for any type of service, especially when you are going to the airport. read more

Terrible. They got my flight information wrong and didn't have another ride available for another two hours. They were unapologetic and rude. When I told the first customer service rep, I heard him whisper to himself: "Wow. This is a mess." Obviously, I will never use them again. I ended up using Lyft which wasn't much more expensive and you get a car to yourself. read more

Read the other negative reviews! Based on my experience, they are all true. DO NOT USE THIS SHUTTLE SERVICE!! Horrific is an understatement. Our driver got lost for over an hour on the way to our hotel. Our return driver was worse in that she was playing games and texting while driving 60mph in a commercial/residential neighborhood. Took way to long to get to the airport. I googled it after driving 45 minutes and found that the entire trip should have taken 45 minutes. We did not arrive to the airport for another 45 minutes! Why would the driver get off the freeway and go 45 minutes out of the way?? We were the only passengers..I noticed both drivers exited the free flowing freeways and took residential/commercial streets instead. Almost like they were trying to prolong the trip. read more

I will only use this "service" again as a last resort. Making the reservation was easy, as was the pickup experience from the airport to a hotel in Anaheim. The pickup driver was friendly but made me a bit nervous when driving. He crossed the solid white line on the right several times, particularly on curves, throughout the trip. Then he had picked up a customer, that as it turned out hadn't completed the reservation process, so he was on his cell phone with dispatch to get that straightened out. I'm sure that also contributed to some of the weaving going on. Unfortunately, the trip back was even worse!!! The pickup was 10 min late AND the driver (different driver) drove past the hotel where I was to next door, which I observed - so walked there & yes, he was supposed to be picking me up & I was the only pick up. So we were already late starting off for me to catch a flight. the driver got lost!!! We drove in a few circles down side streets, didn't use the freeway much - like on my first trip. A 25 min trip turned into 45-50 min. Then we finally get to the Airport - he drives into the Arriving area instead of Departures - He was about to circle around, but the one other passenger & myself just had him stop so that we could get the escalator to where we should have been, get through TSA and catch our flight. NOT Happy - NOT Professional. read more

Thank you to the driver who picked up my partner and i from LAX he was sweet and apologised for being late. Great service loading bags and suitcases in and out of van. Thought id tip him and give him some New Zealand goodies. Thanks heaps cant wait to use your services again! :) read more

Do not use this shuttle. Had $350 headphones securely strapped to my bag in a carrying case. They insist on taking your luggage and putting it in the trunk and upon arrival and baggage removal your $350 headphones will be "gone" (aka stolen) and they will do nothing about it to make their sketchy business right. Beyond disgusted. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would! I booked them through Expedia and was given instructions to call as soon as landed, got my luggage and I would have to wait 15 minutes. My flight was delayed 3 hours so when I finally made it to LAX I followed the instructions given to me. The dispatch person was extremely rude! I have no idea why he works in customer service when he clearly lacks in that department. He basically scolded me because they took it upon themselves to send a driver who "waited 3 hours" without me calling to confirm my reservation. I explained to him the whole delay thing and this jerk had the audacity to tell me he wasn't sending a driver unless I paid him AGAIN and I would have to wait 45 minutes! Mind you, I'd already paid for this damn service through Expedia. Bottom line, they're crooks, he refused to refund my money and Expedia instead refunded me. I would NEVER recommend this business to anyone. If anyone ever asks me for a recommendation I will make it my job to tell them to stay away from this place! read more

Stranded with a baby at LAX. Hour and 40 minutes late, sent wrong vehicle. Terrible! Finally picked us up at midnight. Don't risk it!

On the upside our driver from the airport to the hotel was an amazing person and that was a great experience that was the last great experience we had with this shuttle service. On our return trip home somebody canceled our reservation Karmel was pointing the finger at Disney. Disney is pointing the finger at Karmel, either way Karmel ditched us at our hotel we had to get a cab back to the airport and they refused to refund our money for our return tickets that we were unable to use so I would highly advise finding alternate transportation unless you want to pay double Because you have to find a cab to the airport. And they are very unwilling to try to work with you or accommodate you in the process read more

Was late to pick us up, after being told "5 minutes away" multiple times. After 2 phone calls and 30 minutes past the scheduled pick up time, I had to order a lyft. Thank god I wasn't close to my departure time, otherwise I would've missed my flight. Won't be using these services again, and I suggest anyone on any sort of schedule avoid Karmel Shuttle services. read more

My first time using one of these shuttle services for a solo trip to Anaheim. Was a little wary due to the negative reviews but decided to take a chance. I had a very good experience using Karmel. I booked online - was sent an email confirmation right away - had all the instructions to follow on my arrival. Called their operator/dispatcher as directed on the email, told him my location and the shuttle came in about 5 minutes. Got to my hotel very quickly. On the return shuttle ride to the airport, they picked me up on time and told me that we had 2 more stops before heading to the airport. Got to the airport with a lot of time to spare. Important to note that I used the shuttle in February so not sure if this was a super busy season but I was pleased with my experience. Thought the pricing was great as was the service. read more

My family stayed in Anaheim and used Karmel Shuttle 3 times throughout our stay. The drivers were wonderful, Karmel Shuttle would pick us up and drive us to our destinations on time despite the heavy LA traffic. read more

Do Not Waste Your Money. Shuttle was booked and paid for, however they did not show up to collect us after our International flight. Concierge from our hotel contacted them & they advised we would be able to get a refund when we returned home to Australia. Once home, they have now refused to refund us, even though they are well aware they did not collect us from the Airport & we are out of pocket for having paid them & then had to pay for alternate transport to our hotel. You have been warned. Do not use this company, there are many other alternatives. read more

Got into the carpool lane in stop and stop traffic and the Karmel Shuttle honked and flipped us off. We did not cut him off and it's not like he would have been any further ahead as traffic wasn't going anywhere anyway. Very unprofessional drivers. Do not recommend. read more

We drove our friend to the airport last night (Sunday). We were in the carpool lane on 105 freeway driving at least 80 MPH but still not fast enough for this Karmel Shuttle driver (#441). Tailgated and honked at me for at least 5 miles. He or she was doing this to other drivers the whole way to the airport. If their drivers drive like this, I can't imagine their services are that great!! I haven't used their service before but I know for sure that I won't use them in the future. Please control your drivers!!! read more

I was very disappointed in this service. They advertised that the shuttle would only be picking my group, how shocked I was when 4 other people were in the van. A full load and then the driver was advised he would have to pick up 3 other people. After a 10 - 15 minute detour to advise the group they would have to wait for another shuttle, we were finally enroute to our destination. The driver was extremely nice but he made 2 wrong turns costing more time. Luckily we made it to the port as the ferry was loading. Karmel Shuttle advertises door to door service and no multiple stops. Which we did not receive. I would not recommend this company. read more

This review is a follow up to our previous poor review that we wrote on 10/29/15. Mark, at Karmel Shuttle, has stepped up to resolve our serious concerns regarding some very poor treatment we received by some of his staff' Marc's involvement has given us new hope that Karmel Shuttle really does care about their customers after all. It's nice to see that a company is willing to change their position on an issue just to make their customers happy. Thanks Marc for keeping us coming back to Karmel. Bob and Gail P. read more

I don't travel without using karmel! Whether it's a business trip or a family vacation, I always use karmel to get to the airport! They always get me there on time! Drivers are efficient and helpful! I've used other shuttle services such as super shuttle...but really nothing compares to karmel. They really do have your best interest in mind! I love how it's all reservation based (unlike their competitors) because they always get me where I need to be as fast as possible! They aren't circling the airport for other passengers once they pick me up! I absolutely love it!!!!!!!! Everyone NEEDS to take Karmel for their next ride to the airport or cruise terminal!!!!!!!! read more

Off peak experience. Took 30 minutes for dispatched driver to arrive at LAX even with a reservation for my arrival time. Called the evening before return shuttle and was told I couldn't change pickup time by 30 minutes. Not what I'd call customer friendly. Maybe during normal hours you'd get a different result. read more

Driver was late, really rude, van was old, didn't seem too well cleaned. Driver also played the same really odd song on repeat. And had a bad cold and even worse dandruff. I used yelp and found much better shuttle. read more

Don't do it, pay for a better service. We went from SNA airport to Disneyland and it was the scariest ride ever. This driver was not professional and drove like a speed racer. Windows down and music cranked up the whole way. He took turns that were posted 30 mph corners at well above 55 mph in the van. It's not a sports car it's a 9 passenger van. Erratic driving, never used a blinker, and honked at every car in front of him. I wanted to ride e roller coaster at Disneyland shuttle on a public road. Driver is a liability to the company and I wish I could post zero stars or maybe negative 2 stars. Take a cab or uber way better. This service provided a scary ride and poor service. read more

I would not suggest using this shuttle as it takes over 30 mins before they even pick you up at the airport. This is also after a long time waiting for them to pick up the phone while at the airport. This is not a great way to stay a vacation! read more

Karmel driver's are Independent Contrator's so if they don't want to take the ride like traffic is to busy from LAX going south on a Friday there gonna find any excuse to stand you up. Stinks! Following their instructions, I got to the airport, got my bags, and waited until I was on the curb, THEN called the dispatcher. He told me to look for van #412. Then I get a text saying look for van #410. WTF? They can't get their stuff together enough to know what van they are sending? So I stand at the curb for 20 minutes and this beat-up, piece of crap old van shows up. I got in the van, it sounds like "I think I can I think I can" chugging along (obviously the company won't spend any money for equipment, maximize profits & screw the customer, that's the idea for Karmel Shuttle) and we went further down the line and picked up another couple who were going to a different hotel in a whole other city. So, to make this abundantly clear to you, gentle traveler -- you SHARE WITH OTHER PEOPLE going DOZENS OF MILES away from your destination. I'll admit the driver was a nice guy but working for a RIP-OFF COMPANY unfortunately. What should have been 20-min ride took an HOUR. If they spent a little money for a decent, SAFE van (I could barely get the seatbelt to latch) it MIGHT be a decent deal but for LESS MONEY you can use Uber and get there in a non-shared ride, probably newer, and less hassle. So they expect me to use the same service to get TO the airport from my hotel? SERIOUSLY?!? Good chance of missing my flight! These guys are a RIP-OFF do NOT use them. read more

I used Karmel from LAX to my hotel by Disneyland, I got a text when I arrived at the airport with a link to click when I got my luggage. They were there in 10 minutes. Absolute joke, Terrible service. I arranged a shuttle to collect me from LAX, organised months in advance. I called the number at the terminal when I arrived (on time), they told me to wait outside my terminal, said they would arrive within 30 -40 mins. Also gave me a driver van number, I clarified with him twice and noted down on a bit of paper. I waited outside my terminal as instructed VISABLE for them to see me and for me to spot my van. Waited an hour, I only saw one Karmel shuttle come past however was not the driver number I was given. I called the number again to find the status of my driver and was told by the man on the phone that I was a "No show" and I was "late" and said the driver drove past "4 times", impossible! I was shocked as I was there the entire time outside the terminal looking out for the van. I told them I had not seen a van with the driver number I was given, the rude individual on the phone told me I had a completely different driver number than what he had given me. Got into a bit of war of words as you can imagine due to the situation and he was absolutely rude and unprofessional from the word go. The man at the help desk then called them up on my behalf and managed to get another driver, telling me to wait at the exact same place as last time. Time came and went, and no shuttle arrived. I called up the number AGAIN and another rude person told me "I missed the driver" even through I was out there the entire time like last time. At this point I had realised they were a complete joke and had no idea what their talking about. He said the second driver drove past a few times and was 4 terminals away from where I was waiting, the traffic outside the terminal was moving slow so I knew this was an absolute lie. So basically, telling me that in the 3 seconds it took to get from the phone to the pick up point I had missed the driver multiple times and he somehow managed to get to 4 terminals away.... WOW.. I ended up jumping in a cab to get to my hotel as I was over it at that point. The man at the terminal help desk even said this happens all the time with this shuttle service... So ...yeah, don't use these guys..ever.. get a cab..or an Uber.. read more

I, unfortunately, had a disastrous and very dangerous experience with Karmel Shuttle, and would never ever use them again nor recommend them to anyone. They sent a driver to pick us up on our outbound segment..the driver drove with such recklessness-speeding, tailgating, weaving, cutting in front of cars, flashing her headlights, braking at the last second-that I was frightened for my children's and my safety, including the safety of the other family of 5 traveling in the same shuttle. Plus, there was something seriously wrong with the van. It kept shuddering whenever the brakes were applied. I felt very, very unsafe. On the return segment, there were problems with our flight and we did not arrive until 5 in the morning. I contacted the office to let them know of the new flight and the new arrival time. When we landed, they refused to pick us up, saying we were scheduled to be picked up at the old time not the new time. They did not care that the plane had mechanical problems, which was beyond our control, and had zero regard for the children's and my safety. We were left alone, exhausted, and stranded at LAX at 5 in the morning with no ride. They refused to send a driver despite being notified ahead of time. Two of the staff and the manager were very unprofessional and unethical, refused to apologize or take any responsibility, and refused to give us a refund for not picking us up. They don't even deserve a 1-star rating. Think about your safety if you are considering this shuttle service. read more

Very bad service, I had made a reservation and paid for a round trip home to airport then airport then home. First of all I get a call day of my flight by the driver there going to be late, which ok that's fine I gave our party enough cushion time 20 minutes later driver get there. Very nice driver don't get me wrong made it with enough time thank you. On the way back from our trip we have airline issues I call to let them know our flight was changed. They tell me we have no reservation for you, you were a no show I'm like huh ???? well yeah I'm still in Hawaii my pick up was at 11:05 pm our email reservation does not show a different between AM or PM. They say it's military time. When you make a quote they don't show military time its 2am or 2 pm. Needless to say I paid for a round trip but only got one way service cause they call if they're going to be late but don't call if you're not there or have an issue. Doesn't make sense very bad. And no help from customer service you leave a voice mail for supervisor and you have to hound them to get them to try to help you but still no help what so ever. Don't use them pay a little more and choose primetime shuttle or supershttle. Very reliable they help me out when Karmel couldn't. read more

I think the only positive thing I can say is he was on time. We were then only passengers and picked up from our hotel in Disneyland. The van was filthy, old, and smelled. My seat belt didn't work which really worried me with the way the driver drove. I could not wait to get out of that van, I wanted to kiss the ground when we got there. Overall not a good experience and would not recommend. read more

Driver was on time and it went downhill from there. he used his tablet while driving even when I suggested to pull over...was on a personal phone call the first 15 minutes. .he rolled up the windows to talk and I almost wretched with the stench of cigarette smoke. .and he sometimes drove at 55 with little traffic but jammed the brakes in traffic. ..I was relieved to get out and will never use them..I first booked with them because their pick up time beat others but they did not make that promise come true...dont do it! read more

Worst service I have had driver more concerned about the new people he was picking up than worrying about where he was to drop us at the cruise terminal. Then I thought I cancelled my return trip as family were collecting us 6 months ago . we were in Mexico with no internet to find that they were charging us for another trip on my credit card I rang them at 6.40am to say no this had been cancelled and told them not send the driver for the 11.30am pick up. Worst experience ever. I waited for an hour for my shuttle. Called 4 times and was told to wait 5 minutes each time. Then a driver comes from the same company with an empty van and can't pick me up because he's got another person scheduled. I waited in 90 degree weather for an hour with a 5 year old. I had a pick-up time of 9:15. After calling that my driver didn't show, a different driver picked me up 25 minutes late.
