Was able to make a last minute appointment online when I tweaked my back. Amy was amazing. She relieved a lot of my pain. One of the best massages I've ever had. The location has a really calming spa environment. Highly recommend. read more

Best sports and couples massages in North County. Ive become a VIP member since. Highly recommend!!!

I keep coming back here for the clean rooms, great massage therapists, and affordable rates. Recently had the hot oil massage, it was so relaxing. They spend a good deal of time on my scalp, neck and shoulders AMAZING! read more

Went in for a 90 minute hot oil massage. Was able to get a same day appointment. It was peaceful and clean. My massage therapist Emily was great, I had persistent low back pain and she spent a good amount of time working that area and it really helped. I will definitely be back! read more

I pulled my back out over the weekend and they got me in on Monday. The place is great, the receptionist is very nice and made check in easy. The masseuse really got in and worked out my back, and it really helped. Great find and I will definitely be back. read more

This place is just ok. I consider myself a massage connoisseur. Been getting them for years and have experienced the full gambit from high end spas, cruise ships, in-home massage and then Karma Spa. The pros to this place are the prices and the availability. You can almost always get an appt same day. The cons are that the therapists I have had here all do the same "style" massage. Deep tissue consists of hard pressure using elbows and forearms (this is not an actual deep tissue massage). I've never had one actually work out the knots in my back or actually put fingertips to work. The other type of massage mixed in is just a "fluff and buff" shiatsu style where they just rub you down. No pressure at all. None of their therapists that I've had use any proper massage technique (to echo some of the other reviews) and you are pretty much stuck with whoever you get. But it's wash rinse repeat with every therapist. That's not to say it isn't worth it for the cheap prices. Also the therapists do not speak good English at all so if you need to communicate anything beyond "ok" or "medium pressure" in English you're SOL. Finally, my last massage here was supposed to be 90 minutes. She started at 2:15 and cut me loose at 3:35. Not 90 minutes. . Not cool. read more

Karma Spa massages have been the best gift to myself! Jack and Emily provide incredible healing deep tissue massages, the front desk team is friendly and efficient and the spa is aesthetically calm. Highly recommend! read more

Wish I lived closer! I was visiting family and asked for a deep tissue massage with a male massage therapist. I got RICHARD and he was not only amazing but I couldn't believe he honored my request of being very hard. RICHARD removed so many unexpected knots and really got me moving. Although RICHARD is an older skinny Asian male individual, he isn't weak at all and I was very very impressed. As for payment, there is a discount if you paid by cash. I would highly recommend Karma Spa, Massage in Carlsbad, Day Spa Carlsbad. read more

Hellllo YELP! I am a LMT and was visiting a friend in Carlsbad. Dude. Don't prefer men as massage therapists- BUT....Leo and Jack are the most amazing therapist- intuitive and amazing guru's. I would hire, pay more and not tell people how good they are...because they are the best! Keep them a secret! read more

I booked an appointment for a 90 minute Tui Na massage, wanting to try something new. Best massage ever. I haven't had a massage in months, had been working out heavily for the past few months, and was still dealing with a meniscus injury from February. Lisa was the best. It was clear she knew what she was doing, avoiding the spine and finding areas of muscle and nerve pain I didn't even know were there, and working it out! Yes, parts of the massage were painful, but I came in willing to handle that if it helped. She was very responsive to any yelps, stopped what she was doing, and used lighter methods to work out those areas. I feel like I actually experienced some healing versus just a nice backrub. The facility was clean and nicely decorated, I'll definitely be back. Thank you, Lisa! read more

Today I had an appointment at Karma Spa at 11:45 for a neck, shoulder and back massage for 60 minutes. It was absolutely wonderful! I think I saw Judy (not 100% sure if that was her name) and she did a great job and was really friendly. The girl who checked me in was also very friendly. It was $70 + $10 off for being a new customer so I feel the pricing is great! I would highly recommend coming here to at least check it out and I will be back :) read more

For a same-day appointment and super reasonably priced experience, Karma Spa is A-Ok. The facilities are pretty, with mood lighting and an amazing waterfall that greets you when you arrive. The treatment rooms are sparse, but really, what all do you actually need in there with you? I did miss having a "locker room" to prepare for treatments and where I could store my things, instead of moving a small box around holding my stuff from room to room. I got the VP package, and in the future I would probably just spend the money on a longer massage. The "vichy shower" was actually laying on a wet bed and being hosed down with a shower head, not anything like other vichy showers I've had. And the detox soak and sauna time were nice, but forgettable. Cindy was my masseuse and was very thorough with her massage. I appreciate when masseuses check in on pressure. My back and shoulders were a mess and she made a very concerted effort to alleviate the tightness she found. All in all, for a last minute need for massage, I will be back. Can't beat the price and the spa is overall nice. Tips: - They add on a surcharge if you pay with card. $2+ - If you're nervous about your belongings, leave most in your car. - Communication might be an issue. I found myself not understanding the directions Cindy was giving me because of a language barrier. Most, I understood. But I did trip up a few times. - Take the option for a longer massage instead of the vichy. read more

I've been to this spa a couple times before. Every time has been fantastic but my last massage was above and beyond my expectations. Johnny gave me the best massage I've ever had in my entire life... and that's saying alot because I've had back and neck problems for most of my life and have received lots of massages from lots of different people. I couldn't move my right arm above my shoulder before my session with Johnny and the day after my massage was the first day in a long time where my mobility was reestablished and I was no longer in pain. For me this massages was truly life changing and I will be back. read more

There are so many lovely things to say about Karma Spa! My positive experience started straight away with a my phone call to make an appointment. I was met with kindness and detailed answers to questions. THE BEST part about this spa is that the whole staff is fully vaccinated and everyone wears a mask...properly (not the under the nose/chin BS). Given the huge surge of covid currently, my extreme hesitations were reassured with their practice of protecting patrons and their staff. All of the staff was kind and accommodating. My massage was one of the best I have had in an incredibly long time! An area on my back I had been struggling with for over a month was finally corrected after many attempts from other chiropractors and massage therapists. I was shocked, incredibly thankful and relieved! My facial was also lovely and the conversation was lively (I instigated convo-so no worries if you seek a quiet experience). I live 2 hours away and am honestly considering making the drive every few months, just so I can experience this exceptional care again! read more

My other half just given me the best birthday gift. This is my first time at this spa and I love it! I would definitely come back. I experienced 1-hour full body massage ($39) and 50 mins of infra-slim (super sweaty!)($45) The place looks clean and relaxing. The service was great and the price is affordable (I wouldn't go everyday tho, I'll be broke lol) I recommend this spa way better than any other spa place I tried around San Diego area. Thank you for giving me a relaxing birthday gift. read more

Karma spa in Carlsbad is my go to for a high quality accupressure massage. This isn't a traditional spa in the sense that there are no scented candles, essential oils, soft music, etc., to enhance the experience during your treatment. But that's not what I'm looking for when I go to Karma. I'm looking for a no frills, super effective, elbows digging into my knots, try not to yell ouch sort of massage and Karma spa absolutely delivers! Jack is my go to for an excellent and effective, super intense accupressure. The vibe of Karma is also very clean, modern, and minimalist compared to other traditional accupressure massage places I've been to. They have a wonderful monthly membership, called VIP, that is a great deal at $65 per month for one massage a month plus discounts on any additional massages. Excellent price for a high quality therapeutic massage that I would easily pay more for on a regular basis. read more

Never again. This was by far the worst massage I have ever experienced. My bottom was exposed for 1/2 of it making me feel extremely exposed and vulnerable. The pressure was terrible and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason for what the masseuse was doing. I left feeling achy and unbalanced. I seriously question the credentials this lady had for providing body work. I left feeling far worse than when I stepped into the facility. I do not recommend. read more

Tee is just incredible! Came in after several bad chiropractic visits for some shoulder and sciatica pain relief. Tee went above and beyond to make sure all of my needs were met and it completely changed how I walk and feel. I went back after a long time. The place is clean and professional. The massage therapist I had was awful. One of the worst. I left with my back hurting. I felt like a piece of tenderized meat getting hit constantly. The movements made me dizzy. It did not feel good during or after. I won't be going back. Maybe others will have better luck but I did not. read more

Really nice massage for a decent price! Step past the simple storefront & Karma Spa is adorable inside - a combo of ethnic decor makes this place stylish and unique. The spa is quite large too, with a separate entrance area, waiting room, and many different service rooms as well. My masseuse David was excellent. When I first called to make my appointment, I requested to be matched with someone who's able to give a strong deep tissue massage, so being paired with David was perfect. David was friendly, professional, and he did a great job at loosening up my tight shoulders. The two women at the front desk were similarly welcoming, so all-around great staff. One area of improvement - the lights in my massage room were pretty bright. Typically I'm used to a dark, sleepy atmosphere but this felt a little bit more like a doctor's office. read more

It was me and my sister's first time here. We got the two hour body massage. I appreciate that they called me to confirm the appt. And they told me that they were running 15 mins behind so i can come in a little later. We got there around 4:10 our original appt was 4 pm. We got a free detox because they pushed our appt a little late so that was nice of them. They appreciate their customers. So, me and my sister were in the same room, i had medium pressure while she had hard. The room was a little bright for both of us, i wish they could dim it a little more. The massage was great. But, for my sister i think the lady was too hard. The next day, her back was sore instead of feeling better and she also got bruises (see on the picture) i told her the lady must have been too hard but she didn't say anything. Anyway, we might be back. We'll see. But overall i recommend read more

I made a reservation online and put In my notes I had a spafinder gift card. I told the girl when I checked in that I had a spafinder gift card also. My massage was pretty terrible. it was more painful than relaxing, and seemed like the therapist was trying to massage my spine. The room was cold. I could hear young children yelling inside of the spa. Then upon checking out I was told that they weren't sure if they accepted spafinder gift cards, and after ten minutes of trying to figure out I just paid with my credit card so I could leave. I've been to multiple spas in the area and will not be returning to this one, which I am bummed about as I was hoping for a good experience based on previous reviews. read more

Cici was a really good massage therapist!! I've had so many massages in my life and I'd go back to her. She asked every now and than how it was and she gives good deep tissue. I'd love to come back and get one of the packages. Also the front desk guy had amazing customer service!! read more

I'm fairly hard to impress when it comes to massages. I walked in for my first time appointment here expecting a middle of the road experience, but my hubs was treating me and my body was in need. As a nurse and competitive bodybuilder, I'm a tough case. The ambiance is great, the staff was lovely, but Lisa... Lisa knows how to give a massage. Without any specific instructions, she delivered one hell of a massage with exceptional attention to detail. She knew exactly where to spend time and the pressure to apply, she was attentive of some wounds in nursing too. Everything from working out the 5 knots in my back to a scalp-forehead-temple-ear massage that really iced the cake. 10/10 recommend from tippy tips of my toes to my blissed out temples. read more

Update: Thank you for calling me theatrical and defensive. That's awesome! Was I wrong? Yes. We're you wrong? Yes. It would have been better customer service if you had admitted this. Instead you "got flustered" . Maybe trying to understand from my point of view. I didn't know who called who. I didn't receive the texts. This was something special set up for my husband. We had been in California for two days prior to this and arrived at several other appointments on time without anyone saying we were late. This is why I was so sure of myself. You handled my emotions incorrectly. It would have been nice if you and I could have discussed this later, but you made yourself scarce. And now your reply tells me you've learned nothing. Please learn something about yourself. I did. read more

This was exactly what I needed needed on vacation. I found them online searching near where I was staying in Oceanside. My friend confirmed we should go when the mailed ads showed a decently priced coupon for them. I booked two 90 minute aromatherapy massages the night before. I just needed to use my credit card to hold the appointment. It's a fee to use credit/debit cards. So bring cash to avoid the fee. We arrived 10mins early for our 10:15 appt. I was greeted by name by the receptionist. She was pleasant in reviewing appt details and explaining what expectations. She offered us the assorted tray of essential oils to pick from to be used for our session. We also had a chance to mark on a chart where we would like our masseuse to focus more time. After we completed these formalities, the receptionist disinfected the markers and oils. I was pleased to see that in practice. We were directed into a secondary room with soft music, a long sofa, that offered tea and water. The decor was clean and boasted space for 2 other patrons to join without it being over crowded. Amy was my masseuse and she was great. Took feedback for medium pressure and focused on preferred areas from the chart. The room was clean and they had covers for the headrest. My friend enjoyed her massage as well. Will be back again for sure to try the facial. read more

It's OK but probably won't be coming back anytime soon. I went here after a lot of people said they do great prenatal massages. It's essentially just them having you lay on your side, no actual training has been provided to them. I went once during my 2nd trimester and it was perfect. The perfect amount of pressure and focus on my pain areas. I was excited to book again for another massage for my 3rd trimester. I asked them to just focus on two areas: lower back and shoulders. I asked for medium pressure. After 10 min of what felt like almost tickles I asked the masseuse to add more pressure. She straight up said no because I'm pregnant and in fact said she was going to apply less pressure. If my husband hadn't been the one paying for the massage I would've walked out. I left so disappointed and went home to use my massage gun instead to get those knots out. Definitely would not go here for a prenatal massage read more

Me and my husband have been here three times now , before and after Covid and each time we leave completely relaxed and limber, the masseuses always work out my kinks in my neck and lower back and my husband has restless leg syndrome so he needs attention on his legs and he says his legs feel great after the massage. The vibe here is really relaxing and zen and it's really nice. Definitely will continue going read more

They are always friendly at the entrance and the massage therapists are talented. Pre COVID and Post COVID, I've been to three therapists and they all used pressure well and checked in to make sure it was to my liking. I like their online booking and many combo services they have available. I recently started using the sauna since COVID and it is nice to be in the sauna alone and hot. They all wear masks making it feel safe and clean. I will go back for sure. On the down side- they are remodeling the showers and it would be nice to shower right after the sauna. Also, the rooms are not completely sound proof but it is not distracting. I will be going back to try out the different styles of massage and sauna. Pricing is affordable for frequent use too. read more
