Chicken Madras

Karma Kafe is hands down my favorite Indian spot in the area. The food is always flavorful. I never skip the chicken madras or mango lassi! Service is friendly and attentive. They have a great lunch deal (unfortunately takeout only), which is a steal for the price. Definitely recommend ordering ahead since it can get busy. The ambiance inside is cozy and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Stopped here for a quick bite after watching a musician perform. The interior is stunning, and the aroma of spices gets the stomach feeling hungry. I had the chicken tikka masala and it was delicious! Thank you for a tasty meal!

Service was not great. I had to ask for water 3 times and finally when it arrived on the third request to 3 different waiters, it came without ice and was rudely placed on the table. Food was actually really good which is why it made me so annoyed the wait staff was so rude. the place has so much potential.

We enjoyed it. Very good service and nice authentic food. Definitely would recommend. The setting very charming and original.

I also love their coconut chicken soup, the kebab chicken sampler, lamb korma (lamb is super tender), tandoori chicken caesar salad (lots of chicken), mango lassi and gulab jamun. Honestly everything they make is delicious, always fresh and the price point is the best! It's not overly priced and the food is on point. You won't be let down with any of their dishes. And their staff is amazing! They work really hard to make the customers happy and they listen!

We did another meal of takeaway--like we almost always do when we're in Hoboken--and as always, it was delicious. I'm particularly fond of their biryani's, and lamb biryani is my favorite--the rice is perfect, the spices are spot on, and generous hunks of lamb do not disappoint. Two thumbs up !

The Karma Kafe is a good solid choice for Indian food. The restaurant is light and bright with modern Indian decor. The servers here are all very nice, they are friendly and professional. The food is very consistent, portions are large, and it always tastes good. We really like the sampler plates, they are a good way to start your meal and discover the dishes on the menu. The naan breads are always good, with a soft, pillowy texture. The Biriani is very good here, the portion is huge, I reckon you can feed 3 people easily with it, and it has plenty of meat. Karma Kafe is very good value for money and a pleasant place to dine, I recommend it!

Paneer Makhani

Got the paneer makhani lunch box and added naan. For $11 (+2.50 for naan) the value of the lunch special is amazing. Great quality and flavor as always and the portion is pretty big that I got 2 meals out of it. Definitely worth it!

Heard so many great things about Karma Kafe so I was excited to try - especially before the dinner rush! The portions are large and great for sharing - for four people, we shared the Veggie Sampler, two portions of the Garlic Naan, Lamb Biryani, Palak Paneer and Chicken Tikka Masala. Each curry comes with rice, a small side salad, and some daal which was very comforting to have. As we had a nut allergy, we asked the server to confirm if any of the foods we ordered had nuts and he said no; however, the Lamb Biryani came out with cashews so we were a bit surprised. Luckily, another server was able to get us a new portion prepared without nuts within 20 minutes, which we greatly appreciated. Seeing by the number of letters of gratitude and certificates in the bathrooms, Karma Kafe seems to have a key, integral part of the Hoboken community - in addition to feeding and serving delicious food!

Wow!! Everything tasted amazing! Huge portions, very reasonable prices and great service. We went for Sunday brunch and were seated immediately. Mango and watermelon drinks was refreshing. Samosas were the largest I've ever had. Got a basket of various naan which was perfect to dip in the curry. Got different curry dishes including chicken and lamb which was very tender and flavorful. Highly recommend this restaurant and would absolutely love to go back again.

I can't believe I have not taken the time to review Karma Kafe yet. This place is spot on. If you are in Hoboken, whether a local or visitor, you must visit.

Best Indian food in the area. I usually go for either the Tandoori Chicken with a side of yogurt cucumber sauce or Chicken Tikka Masala. The food taste fresh & the service is always on point, they already know me for getting the Mango Mojito & extra Garlic Naan to go

Chicken Tikka Masala

This casual spot gets packed for dinner during the week and especially on the weekends. It's great for dine in or take out. My favorite is the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The chicken is tender and the naan is fluffy. Best spot for Indian food in Hoboken!

They reduced their meat per dish amount significantly! You just buy rice if you get beryani! Not recommended at all!

Imagine if you will, service so incompetent, so devoid of anything close to positive customer…read moreservice that you wind up leaving a restaurant angry about the experience. That sums up my visit to Pariwaar Delights this week. Pariwaar certainly puts on a good face. Sandwich boards outside promise delicious food. The interior is beautifully decorated with modern lighting, furniture and unusual cutlery. At first things seemed okay. My partner and I were seated quickly because...well, we were only one of two whole parties in the place (but it was Sunday evening so read into that what you will). We had seen a sign outside for a Mutton Biriyani, but on the menu they only listed goat. So here's where the initial confusion began. Depending on where you are, Mutton and Goat are not necessarily the same thing. Mutton can refer to sheep while Goat is well...goat. In some restaurants however, the two can be used interchangeably. So when we started to order, we mentioned the mutton and the waiter (who barely spoke above a whisper and had a deer in the headlights look the entire time) kept saying "goat". We went back and forth three times. He could have easily just said "Here goat *is* mutton" but he never did. After that back and forth, we ordered several dishes including the Indian Masala Wings as an appetizer and the Goat Mandi. This is important to my tale. Within 10-15 minutes some of our food came out including garlic naan, sesame naan and chaan masala. All of this was good, but as we ate we began to wonder where our other dishes were. So we ate and then we waited. We waited a half hour. During that time, the waiter never checked on us. Indeed, at times both the waiter and the host/cashier just disappeared into the kitchen for five to ten minutes at a time. When I finally got their attention, I asked them where our Goat Mandi and Masala wings were. For some bizarre reason, they thought we asked for the Goat Mandi to go (we never said the words "to go" when we ordered) and they claim we never ordered the wings (I asked for the wings three times). I told them we'd take the dish to go along with our leftovers. At that point I just wanted to get out of there. I'm not even going to go into detail on the food. Overall, the food was good but definitely overpriced. These were Manhattan prices in Hoboken. It's not worth having to deal with horrible service and okay food.

I appreciate what they're trying to do by bringing a niche Indian cuisine to Hoboken…read more However, there are some improvements needed in order for them to be successful in the future. We came here shortly after their opening after waiting in great anticipation for about a year. I'm giving one extra star just for the benefit of the doubt because they just opened, or maybe I ordered the wrong things. The menu is not very vegetarian-friendly. Samosa chaat was lacking in yogurt and tamarind sauce. Very heavy on the chickpeas. Paneer makhani biryani was just lots of dry rice, dry paneer, lacking flavor. We barely touched it. There were items on the menu we asked for that they didn't have. Their prices are a bit high for basically fast-food quality. There is a 4% cash discount btw. The owner seemed very nice and earnest. I think they should include some more universally enjoyed Indian staples on the menu just to get more people in the door, and then people will venture into the mandi and biryani. Best of luck.

I've even impressed my LA friend because why would someone in Los Feliz go all the way to Culver City? That brings me to Chef of India. I lack the expertise to convey the intensity of the Chilli Masala Idli but urge you to try this flavor powerhouse. The restaurant's own description doesn't go into much detail, noting "chilli sauce and South Indian spices," but I can respect that they're saving their energy for the cooking rather typing. There's a strong garlic vibe and some onions, but I'm not skilled enough to discern the many other ingredients at work here. I still haven't been to Chef of India in person but it might get the top spot in my Uber Eats Hall of Fame.

The food was pretty tasty, spicier than we expected for "mild", but nothing unbearable. Definitely the least boring butter chicken I've ever had. The chicken was slightly overcooked though, depending on the piece. It came with two sauces, a yogurt-based sauce that was very tasty and cooling for the spice and a much more spicy/spiced sauce that was too spicy for me, but had nice flavor. The roti was fine, nice that we at least had that to dip in the sauces since we didnt have the rice.
