1/5 -- Terrible experience, especially for something I had planned for years…read more I genuinely hate leaving reviews like this, but my experience with this shop was unacceptable. I came in on my birthday for a Haku tattoo that I had been planning and looking forward to for years. I was originally quoted $900. The artist, Abi, convinced me to make the tattoo significantly larger than I had originally wanted. We then waited about an hour and a half for her to get started and work on the design. Once we were finally supposed to begin tattooing, her machine was dead, so we had to sit there for roughly another hour waiting for it to charge. But the worst part happened after the tattoo had already started. When Abi was almost completely finished with the outline, the shop owner walked over and asked, "So what's the plan here?" I was then told that because of the size of the tattoo -- the size I had been convinced to get -- and because they now considered it a "half sleeve," the $900 was only going to cover the outline. If I actually wanted the tattoo finished with color, I was told it would be another $500. So the price effectively went from the $900 I had been quoted to $1,400 after the tattoo was already outlined on my body. At that point, what exactly was I supposed to do? Walk out with an unfinished outline covering my arm? It was my birthday, I had planned this tattoo for years, and I was already committed once the tattoo was on my skin. The way the additional charge was presented felt hostile and incredibly money-driven. After paying all of that and finally finishing, I wasn't even given what I would consider adequate aftercare wrapping. No second skin was offered. My tattoo was covered with Saran Wrap and tape, which started falling apart almost immediately after I left the shop. To make matters worse, the finished design did not come close to the reference image I had provided. When I later brought up the things I was unhappy with, Abi told me that I only had three months to receive a free touch-up because that was supposedly the shop policy. That three-month restriction was never explained to me at my appointment. What I was told was that touch-ups were free. Neither my partner nor I remember being told there was any three-month deadline. When I pointed that out and tried to address my concerns, Abi blocked me on Instagram. That was apparently the resolution after I spent $1,400 on a tattoo I had dreamed about for years. I can deal with delays. I can deal with mistakes. What I can't accept is being quoted one price, being convinced to increase the size of the tattoo, having the price substantially increased after the tattoo was already on my body, and then being blocked when I raised concerns about the finished work and a touch-up policy that was never clearly communicated to me. This should have been an awesome birthday memory. Instead, the entire experience left me feeling taken advantage of. avoid this shop

Y'all, Em knocked it out of the damn park. She showed me the full colour finished pice and it was SO beautiful, way beyond what I had hoped. The day of was really laid back and chill: we chatted a bit about odd tattoos she's done and the worst places to get one. Well lucky me, I picked a pretty painful part but she was as gentle as she could possibly be. We took breaks, her for food and me for coffee, and get about 95% done in 1 full day session. She booked me for my touch up that same day and said there would be no charge for the time since she quoted what she quoted, but I'm happily going to pay her hourly rate plus top for her time. Em herself is very down to earth and chill, open to your feedback and tweaking things to get exactly what you want. Mike from the front desk is cool as hell, and the space is very well lit and exceptionally clean. Other artists popped by while we were working and loved her vision of what I wanted. Overall a 15/10 experience and I'm even finding more art that I want Em to do now.

I came in with another person and we both wanted tattoos. We sat down with the artists to go over the designs and were placed on the schedule for full day sessions at $1500 each. We assumed that was just the cost of a tattoo so paid the deposits and left. We trusted them since we haven't gotten a tattoo in over 20 years. One of us was charged a $250 deposit and the other a $400 deposit. We didn't know there was a difference until we left and discussed it. After talking with several friends that have tattoo's, we were told that price was WAY too high for what we were getting done, one tattoo on the upper arm about 4-5 inches big. We decided to get some other quotes and we were told by other reputable shops that our tattoos would take 2-3 hours to complete and the price was $300. We were shocked that Rebel Muse was charging 5 times higher than others. This isn't just a little higher, it's a HUGE difference. We decided to go back and talk to them, 10 days before our scheduled appointments to discuss pricing and the deposit difference. They did not care and said that's the price and we would have to forfeit the deposits if we cancelled. I asked if they could at least refund me the difference in deposit amounts ($400 vs $250) and I was told they would check and get back to me. I never heard back from them. This was a very bad experience and the customer service here is non-existent. I get that prices can be different at different locations/different artists but this is ridiculous. I'm not doubting their work may be good but price gouging is where I draw the line! This was a huge and costly mistake on my end. Unfortunately, this establishment won't do anything to make this experience right. Don't let this happen to you!
