6/22/2021: I bought a silk dress from Karina which is 100% SILK which is LESS THAN the dressy evening dress which was stolen via a TSA LUGGAGE INSPECTION from my luggage! Nobody will ever have the same exact silk dress because IMHO, the dresses Karina sells in her Boutique are one-of-kind; Indeed, I'm so happy with my one-of-kind silk dress! Moreover, I wore my elegant, demure, muted-hue, silk dress to several upscale restaurants and received so many compliments. Undoubtedly, I will wear my one-of-kind, silk dress to a few, future award shows in Los Angeles and NYC; I'm so confident I won't be embarrassed with another woman wearing the same dress! LOL . . . After looking through the other Lahaina stores, I knew Karina's was unique and special the minute I walked in. I was greeted by Ida. I was wearing hiking clothes and a cap with my hair tucked in. Seriously, I didn't look the part to be trying on glamorous dresses, but Ida treated me like a queen. Yes, I was shocked by the price of the dress that fit me like a glove and felt like pajamas. Karinas Boutique Review: It's been my forth time to Maui - and also my fourth time going to Karinas Boutique. This has been turned into a great tradition for me, my mom, and my aunt!! They are always so attentive, caring and helpful. Each time I go- I am treated so well!! I had a stroke a few years ago (even though I am only 38) and when I am there they never treat me like I'm handicapped but at the same time- they so make sure that I am taken care of! As an example, last time I was there one of the store associates helped me in and out of my clothes (when I asked for the help) and she even got me a stool to sit on because I now have balance issues. Well- unfortunately I bought the wrong size and when I returned to the mainland to California- I contacted the owner Karina- who could not have been nicer! Especially as Covid had just hit after I left her store, making me unable to exchange the beautiful Sky top and dress for a larger size. She told me to go ahead and ship the items and she would exchange the items for a larger size even though it was months later! The communication via Facebook Messenger and then via phone calls and texts have all been stellar. After a VERY short period of time - I just received the top and dress (in the sizes that I requested) and she didn't even charge me for the shipping! When I contacted her and thanked her she just told me that she wanted me to be happy and to be safe regarding Covid!! Karina could not be nicer and neither could the rest of the ladies that work there. Not to mention that the collection of clothes there are amazing and unique!! My (now) husband and I decided mid-trip to Maui to elope. It was crazy last minute, and I needed a dress! I was fine to get anything that was flowy and white, and I SCOURED the strip on Front St. (and surrounding stores) for something like that. A lot of people get married/elope in Maui, so when I'd ask a salesperson, they would unenthusiastically just tell me "No we don't have that" - I get it, it's not a big deal or exciting to them. I was losing hope, thinking it'd be a flower covered sarong instead, when I went into Karina's and there she was - fabulous and stunning, in her store. And when I told her I was eloping, she threw up her hands and yelled in excitement and poured us both champagne, immediately pulling 3 dresses that she knew would look good on my body. She was like a stylist! It was exciting, and wonderful, and she really worked with me to make sure I felt gorgeous and excited. I must've hugged her like 3 times...with no friends or family there, it was great to have her amping me up and telling me what looked good and what didn't. I can't recommend Karina and her boutique enough! When we come back in years to come, I'll be rolling in and checking out the other fantastic dresses, jewelry and shoes that she has there. Best customer service and awesome selection of one of a kind items! I bought an amazing bracelet and unfortunately it broke some how when I was on my flight back to canada. I emailed Karina and she went out of her way to send me a gorgeous replacement bracelet (that was double the cost of the original one) free of charge. All she wanted was for me to happy. I have never been treated so amazing as a customer before in my life. She emailed me each day with shipping updates and made sure i received it and was happy! Finally! After 50 T-shirt shops on Front Street, I wandered into Karina's oasis of silk dresses, gorgeous jewelry and stylish accessories. It's not a traditional Hawaiian vibe, but the clothes are unique and many pieces were in the $100 or less range. Staff were hands-on and helpful and I left feeling great about everything I bought. I have grown a taste for super high end things somewhere in between my first real job and then actually "making it". Hey, that's what you get to do when you make good money, don't have kids or a mortgage right? Buy things that make you happy *wink*. I should own stock in Louis Vuitton...and Sky clothing. I love their clothes! The fits are amazing and have stunning details that set Sky apart from all other clothes in its category. Sky is only sold in little high end boutiques. In fact, I just bought a gorgeous top today back at my favorite boutique in San Francisco. While I was in Maui, I saw this store and got pretty excited...until the first thing out of the mouth of the snooty blonde sales girl was "don't touch that unless you can afford to buy that. It's really expensive" Wtf?! Who treats customers like that? Especially when you are asking for a minimum of $200 purchases?! I shouldn't touch clothes that I want to know if I should buy?! God forbid, I might want to *gasp* try it on. When you are selling high end good you cannot afford to judge people by their appearance--especially in Maui!! You never know what millionaire or wife of a sports star might be walking in straight off the beach, looking to spend a few grand. Part of being a boutique is having amazing customer service and a fun place to shop. This place fails. read more

I also had the "pleasure" to experience the arrogant Karina. She was nice at first, but as soon as I tried the first dress and did not like it on me, she started being mean. I then asked to see a leather backpack that she had in the window. She said something along the lines of "not sure if the price will be within your budget". This was a clear insult. I then looked at the backpack and told her that the shoulder straps are too wide apart, and they would fall of my narrow shoulders. She said that since I have already made up my mind, then it's worthless to show it to me. She kept saying that it won't be falling off my shoulders. I kept telling her it will. She then put it on me, and the thing was barely holding onto the very edges of my shoulders. She said "see, it stays". I told her that it is barely holding on me and that it feels strange. She was not down with that and as soon as my girlfriend came out of the fitting room (not knowing what just happened), Karina told us "have a good night". Basically, she kicked us out of that store of hers. My girlfriend and I walked out in shock. Karina needs to change her attitude. It seems like most of her revenue comes from walk-ins, and perhaps that's why she does not need to try. But geeez... what a horrible attitude! read more

My boyfriend and I ventured into Karina's Boutique while on vacation in Maui. It was a nice looking girly boutique with cute stuff. The few things in the boutiques that I handled; Karina would over-compliment by bellowing out, "beautiful", "gorgeous", without even looking up from the counter. She then proceeded to follow me around the store straitening up the purse and necklace that I had just looked at which made me feel very uncomfortable, so we left. I walk out of the boutique thinking- that was odd. A couple of days later my girlfriends and I were out shopping and we ventured into Karina's. We were browsing around and having fun. A friend pulled a dress from a rack: Karina tried to tuck the dress back into the rack. My friend said, "I was looking at that dress". Karina snapped, "I am putting my dress back where it belongs, in my store." We soon left. A fraction of the merchandise has a price tag. I get the feeling Karina sizes you up and then shoots off a price. Ironic, because I would buy from this boutique -- at any price. read more

I have gone into Karina's on several occasions with girlfriends when they have come to visit. I live here and I always like the different dresses she has in her store. I went in a couple of weeks ago seeking a dress for my class reunion this summer. She was nice at first, but then when she realized I had some sand on my feet she threw a fit calling me "not nice" and this was "not good for her dresses". This is freaking MAUI. We go to the beach. Then, when I was undressing in the dressing room, she tore the curtain to the side (mind you, I was partially undressed) and starting yelling at me that her dress was wet?! I don't know why she thought the dress was wet--I wasn't wet at all! I wasn't even sweating! And I hadn't been in the ocean all day! I think she just wanted me out of the store. Shame on her. I will never take any of my friends back there. There are plenty of great boutique owners in Maui, believe me (check out Paia)! Give your money to GOOD people. Karina needs a reality check. The merchandise earns this store two stars, but uhhh.... Karina should probably just hire some people to deal with customers and stay in the back of the store. Two years ago I purchased a ring from her which I really like and this past December I couldn't wait to return to her store to see what she had. She was very friendly the first time...this time it was like I didn't even exist. She raced around the store singing a Michael Jackson song or whatever, couldn't stop to say hello or anything even close. I left feeling really bad. I won't even begin to try to figure out what is wrong with her but I will say this - the majority of what she carries in her boutique can be found in the Los Angeles fashion district for much less, if you're already on the west coast go downtown L.A. and save your bucks and spare yourself the disrespectful attitude. Half of what makes people want to buy from someone is great customer service, maybe she doesn't need the money. Oh well good luck won't see me on my next visit to paradise. read more

I went in the store when I saw a beautiful green sundress. I tried on the dress and was ready to purchase it. When I was deciding on buying it the sales woman said she could negotiate the price. She then stated the dress was $524.00. The dress was pretty but not worth that amount of money. I told the sales woman I would think about it . I came back the next day and there was a new sales woman. I asked the price and she quoted $599.00. We left the store in disbelief and the sales woman even said she could negotiate. We were in the town for dinner a third day and walked by and saw there was a third sales woman. My husband asked the price of the same dress and she quoted $ 750.00. Do not shop here they profile tourist and try and take advantage. Plus no price tags and very unclear where the items are made. read more

Aloha, We live in Hana and came out for artwalk on front street and happened across Karina's. Avi helped my wife and I. Avi was a top drawer salesperson and amazingly attentive without being pushy. The clothes were of the highest quality and designer style. We found the prices were lower than rack! Karina's was an incredible find on Maui and we highly recommend this store. As my wife is the CEO of the Haute Couture company Miss Beverly Hills i think we speak with some expertise and authority. I read the other lackluster reviews and they don't add up to our experiences or those of our other friends that we have suggested patronizing this gem of a store. WE routinely shop in London and South Florida and the selection from accessories, shoes, bags, swimsuits, gowns and dresses was delightfuly complete.
