I placed a to-go order for the Chicken Karahi and Malai Boti. The Chicken Karahi was very flavorful and filled my house with an amazing aroma as soon as I opened it. I ordered it mild, and the spice level was just right. It also came with a small side of raita, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the Malai Boti was very disappointing. It literally tasted like plain boiled chicken. There was no creamy malai flavor or richness at all, and it lacked the seasoning and texture I was expecting. It was a huge contrast to the Chicken Karahi. I would definitely order the karahi again, but I would skip the Malai Boti. read more

My husband found this spot, and we decided to try it out with the family. Even though it had just recently opened, it was already bustling, which made me so happy to see a new business thriving--and for good reason! I love supporting new restaurants, especially when they bring something special to the table. We were seated immediately, but I will say the service could use some improvement. It wasn't the most welcoming, and we had to wait a bit before someone took our order. That aside, we were excited to dig in. We ordered, Gol Goppay - Unfortunately, this was not a hit for me. It was way too salty and lacked the depth of flavor it should have. Kaptaan Karahi is the star of the show! The shorba, the masalas, the flavors--each bite had us fighting for more. Their chef knows exactly what they're doing, and this dish alone will bring me back. Lastly the Peshwari Naan - Another must-try! The size alone is mind-blowing (just check out my pics!), and it's made fresh in the tandoor. Slathered in butter, it's phenomenal. I'm already planning my next visit when I'm back in New Jersey. A newly opened restaurant in colonial and of course I'll be there to taste their food . Being a food reviewer , it is important to visit many restaurants and pick the best .. and I do confirm that this was one of the best kebabs I had tasted all through central NJ ! Parking. Is limited outside .. their menu card has very less items and I was surprised ! Price was ok for the food provided .. they had many tables inside to sit and dine . Service could have been better but can't complain. The kebab was really well prepared and juicy and flavorful . Other kebabs in oak tree rd are pretty dry and tastes ok. This one was just amazingggg . The flavor was really good and right spice ! We ordered behari kebab I think. 16$ for it is a good price . They don't give bread with it though. Had to order it extra. Over priced, staff didn't know about details of menu. Wait time was about 1 hour for food on not so busy night. Ordered cheese kabab platter, which should have been 6 kababs. Received 3 normal sized kababs, inquired about remaining 3 kababs. They said the order I received of 3 normal sized kababs were supposed to be cut in half, producing 6 pieces. We were there tonight to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. Can't tell you how amazing the place was, the food was mouth watering delicious, the service was top notch and it's definitely kid friendly. We tried pretty much everything that was on the menu and I honestly can't decide which one was the best because they were all so delicious ! There are tons of Pakistani restaurants in NJ but this definitely tasted like authentic home cooked food. My only critic to the owners and management would be to have Pakistani music in the back ground and perhaps some images of Pakistan on the video screens located throughout the resultant to create the back home feel. We bought the chicken karahi which only consisted of neck and ribs for $30 and same for the $40 goat karahi . Horrible horrible !!
