    Black cherry matcha

Lovely spot, they have more parking in the back. It's a small shop but there was still enough designated seating to work from. They even have another room in the back which I found out later after I explored to the bathroom. Great drinks, I got the black cherry & vanilla matcha, so yummy! I loved how there was people crafting, working, eating, and it felt cozy. The tacos were also amazing and even with corn tortilla.

Ok, typically I will eat at a location and then wait later on to write about it. Oh no, not here! Took my first bite of the egg, spinach, cheddar sandwich and immediately started thinking, have I had a better breakfast sandwich in San Antonio. 5 minutes later - sandwich was gone and no picture! That rarely happens! Coffee was perfect! This seems to be a little mom and pop place. Paintings, jewelry, and other items. We live downtown and both of our Doctors are a block from Kapej. We will walk to all Dr appointments and treat ourselves on the way back. Well done Kapej, and thank you not for breakfast, but for a experience.

Don't walk here, run!! I got the dulce de leche latte and my friend tried their strawbery shortcake matcha and they were both great and unique. We got some of their food items and I can't describe how nice it is to eat eggs that's real vs. the kind one gets at IHOP or Magnolia's. They're seasoned well and the french toast is soft and has a fluff to it. Spanish vibes inside with lots of art to look at and purchase alongside jewelry. It feels homey in there. I will be coming here every time I'm downtown now.

Quaint little coffee shop that also does food. It's a very small inside area but it seems nice for a grab and go or maybe to sit and study for a little bit. I got an iced Mexican Vanilla Latte which was good. Not sure if it was the syrup or the beans itself but it has an aftertaste that I didn't enjoy too much, but it reminds me of beans that have the notes of cherry and I personally don't like that but many people do ! Overall I think I would come again if I were in the area and maybe try something else like their matcha. They had a big seasonal menu.

I was very pleased with Kapej! I was searching for a cute and cozy spot in downtown that had parking and somewhere I could stay for a couple of hours. Upon arrival, there was a small parking lot that was in the back. The overall place is a bit small especially when it does get a bit crowded. Throughout the cafe, there were a lot of pieces of art for sale so that definitely gave a unique feel to the place. The service was pretty good and there was always someone cleaning to ensure a clean environment! We had ordered the tiramisu latte and it was very delicious. The coffee was pretty strong, but very flavorful! The only thing I wish was different was the transparency of prices for the seasonal beverages. I'll definitely be sure to be back!

Kapej is such a charming little coffee shop serving delicious breakfast and brunch. As soon as I walked in, it felt like stepping into my grandmother's house warm and inviting. The vibe here is amazing, from the friendly staff to the beautiful art on the walls, greenery, and local jewelry, books for sale I ordered the 3 Leches Strawberry Matcha, and it was just as delicious as it sounds! I also got the egg sandwich, which was super good. The space is a bit small, but they offer seating in the front, plus a back room with tables that many people might not know about. There are also a few outdoor tables if you prefer to sit outside. Everything is reasonably priced for the quality of food and the overall good vibes. Definitely a hidden gem worth visiting!

Quaint cute cozy bright spot on Madison Square Park about a 15 minute walk from downtown. Very nice owner/artist and family serving up some great Mexican/Mayan food. We came for breakfast and loved the Arepa Con Queso which came with a side of the tastiest salsa sauce causing us to also drench our breakfast tacos with it. Hope to come back to try lunch!

You MUST visit this café! Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here! I finally made the trip to Kapej and am so sad I didn't make it sooner. The atmosphere of this place was so chill and cozy, and the drinks perfected the experience. Art, jewelry, and other crafts for sale decorate the walls of this quiet café, and there's even a few notebooks at the front for customers to draw, write, and engage with. My fiancé and I admittedly came closer to closing time, but the barista that took our order and prepared our drinks didn't seem perturbed in the slightest, was so very kind, and had our drinks out to us in no time at all. We ordered an Iced Lavender Matcha Latte and an Iced Rose Matcha Latte with Almond Milk. The Lavender Matcha had the best matcha to lavender ratio I've ever had. The Lavender didn't overwhelm or overpower but PERFECTLY complemented the Matcha. It was crafted excellently; blended smooth and creamy, and had beautiful layering prior to mixing the drink ourselves. The same could be said about the Rose Matcha, however the rose taste was quite overpowering. I made the mistake of forgetting to ask for half Rose flavoring as rose itself has a very powerful taste, so it was like drinking a liquid rose. I couldn't really taste the matcha at all, but even then it was like drinking a lovely rose tea instead. Still absolutely delicious. I'm hoping to return soon so I can try out some of their pastries, namely their homemade pop tarts, and a few more of their unique flavors. This place was such a vibe and had such delicious teas that it's been hard to forget about!

Found this coffee shop in the downtown area. It was so cute and vibey. It displayed art work from local San Antonio artists. It had seating both inside and outside. The worker who helped us when ordering was so nice. She explained all their drinks and what was in them. She also threw in accommodations they could make if needed. I ordered one of their popular drinks the Ferrero Latte. So good! It even came with a Ferrero candy on top. Would definitely recommend visiting here.

This is the cutest little spot! I was staying downtown and this was a quick 15 minute walk away. The place is very inviting and comfortable from the moment you step inside. They have couches, tables, and even a nice bar height table at the window you can sit at and look outside. There is also outdoor seating. Everyone working here was so friendly and helpful. I ordered a brown sugar latte, chicken pesto sandwich, and a guava and cheese pastry. The latte is their signature drink. The pesto sandwich was delicious! You could tell it was carefully made and warmed to perfection. The chicken was finely shredded with avocado and a creamy bbq spread on it. There were a lot of pastry options so I asked for a recommendation and was told the guava and cheese pop tart. The pastry part was perfectly flakey yet not too crumbly. The filling tasted homemade it was so good. I definitely recommend this spot and will be back next time I'm in town!

Randomly pulled off on the side of the road heading downtown bc I saw a coffee sign and needed a pick me up. The latte combinations (like tiramisu and Ferraro) sounded delicious but once I saw strawberry and matcha I had to change my order. Had the strawberry tres leches matcha latte and it was absolutely delicious; I slurped it all down almost immediately. The cashier told me they make the strawberry puree in house, and they source the match locally. I don't live in SA but any time I come back I'll be sure to swing by and get a drink here. The inside is filled with fun art and a back room that you could use as a great place to study or work remotely. Didn't try any food so can't comment on that. Parking in the back, but be wary when you pull in, there's a little curb separating the driveways

The service was great, they checked on us multiple times. It's a small hidden place, but the coffee was so good.

Breakfast is well served and the eggs are so fluffy. They remind me of my mom's home cooking. Not a huge fan of the taste of the matcha but the coffee was great! Second time coming and I'm willing to give a different flavor matcha a try . Definitely recommend to come and have breakfast/ brunch and work in quiet and inviting environment.

Formerly a house, the interior of this cafe has a serene feel inside with comfortable seating. There is also seating on the front porch and a huge backyard patio deck. You order at the counter, which is right when you walk in the front door. Your order is brought to your table, wherever you may be sitting. On my first visit I had a croque monsieur, a deli ham and melted cheese sandwich with béchamel sauce between toasted bread. It was delicious and was served with potato chips. I also got a hot vanilla latte, served in a mug, which was absolute perfection. One thing I liked was the absence of laptop campers. I only spotted one on both of my visits. People come here to quietly socialize or just take a break from life for a few minutes. My second visit was mainly to get another one of those fantastic vanilla lattes but I also chose a chocolate croissant from their pastry case. The croissant, served on a nice dish, was fresh, flakey, and full of chocolate. I sat, relaxed, and felt like things didn't get much better than this.

However, parking was difficult and not very convenient. The coffee was good and smooth, but nothing that really stood out. It was solid quality, just not something I'd go out of my way for. One thing that surprised me was the price. My latte was listed at $7, but with all the extra charges for add-ons it quickly became $9+, which felt a bit pricey even coming from Chicago where coffee can already be expensive. What really affected the rating for me was the service speed. It was probably the slowest coffee service I've experienced. I waited about 15 minutes for two lattes, and there was only one other person ahead of me. For a simple order, that felt like a long time. Overall, it's a nice café with a clean, spacious atmosphere and decent coffee, but the pricing and slow service make it somewhere I'd visit occasionally rather than regularly.

The original creaky hardwood floors are a delight to walk through, and there are multiple seating rooms, a couple you can tell used to be bedrooms. The upstairs is cut off to customers, one can only imagine what fun lies up there. I came a little early so they were short on pastries. One of the machines was also broken, so even though the barista wanted to recommend the Beauregard, he couldn't make it. He suggested the vanilla latte. I also ordered a cortado and a blondie (cranberry-walnut) courtesy of Scratch Kitchen. For the King William area, parking is the best. There are plenty of spots behind the building!! There's also a side and front entrance. While I waited for my cortado to cool, I ate about half the blondie and it was delicious. It was like a blondie had an identity crisis and wanted to live its best life as a scone. I loved it - but then again, you can never go wrong with Scratch Kitchen. The cortado was foamy and started off aggressively bitter, but by the last swig I was tasting some magic. A very interesting ride, how I ended up not caring for it at first but then enjoying it. The vanilla latte gave me pause. It kinda tasted like it had vanilla extract instead of vanilla syrup, but it was still pretty tasty nonetheless. I'm pretty stoked about this spot. It's got so much space, the outlets are at seat-level so you can work comfortably on your laptop, and the background noise is unobtrusive. A great little getaway spot that I look forward to visiting again.
