I've been coming here for 14 months to see Chrissy for Botox. She is knowledgeable and kind and doesn't pressure you into getting more than you need. AKA, she is freaking amazing! As someone new to Botox (I have been doing it for under 2 years), I'd been to other med-spas that were too pushy and not professional, but they also injected me in the wrong areas. How is that Possible?! I went to another med-spa prior, and she put 20 units in my forehead, and after 2 weeks, they had dissolved. Like WTF!! This happened 2 times! I never went back. I called his office a few months ago and straight away the reception said without my even asking "his starting fee for a facelift is $200K, are you kidding me??? Others have said that just a few years ago his price point was $60K. Just because he relocated to a new large office in San Monica he wants he increased his prices to fund his new space, oh HELL NO!! Cosmetic surgery will enhance your appearance and will last for a very long time, with that said yes this is an expensive facility and I really don't think I want to go anywhere cheap. So I paid the $500 for consultation. Honestly money is not an issue because it is my face. I am only 40 and have taken care of my part asian skin my whole life. I was actually offended at my visit. 1.) He trade names everything and gives vague explanations of what or why he recommends this procedure 2.) He literally wrote me a procedure quote for $112k !!!!!!!!! Lmfao. Offensive! Especially since my girlfriend went here 3 years ago and paid $25k. I asked for a refreshing mini lift. He said I had 2 options plan A or B. I said I want least invasive. Not only did the coordinator deliver this quote w a straight face but explained the reason is because it's a 12 hour surgery. I had a horrible experience getting a mini facelift and a neck lift from a Beverly Hills Doctor around February of 2020. I had developed a very thick keloid around my ears, and the results of the mini facelift was not noticeable, as if I had noting done. I was blamed on my genetics for the keloid scars and become very depressed and unhappy. After meeting with Dr. Kao, I decided to pursue with a corrective surgery. The surgery lasted 18 1/2 hours. I was NOT put under General anesthesia, instead I was given IV Sedation with Propofol. I stayed at his recovery center and got the best care. He visited me every morning and every night for 4 nights while i was there, checking to make sure everything was going well with my recovery. His staff is outstanding, I have never been treated so well in my life. It was like staying at a 5-star hotel. Dr. Kao literally changed my life. He made my keloids disappear and nasolabial folds vanish and fixed my droopy eyes. Dr. Kao is truly a gifted gem. I feel like I am part of the Kao family! He has a horrible office experience, Natalie was hand down the worst schedule though, plus he is extremely rude as a doctor. The other reviews are accurate when they say horrible customer service. First they want 1k to schedule a time to meet with the scheduler to go over everything, then and if only then are you lucky to talk to the doctor and I was referred to him through another surgeon partner- he would have never referred me knowing he was going to do this. After I scheduled and had a penicillin allergy did paid too they did not refund. Never go here unless you want to be taken advantage of. I am an actual patient of Dr. Kao's, so I can speak of my personal experience with his work. In 2020, I found weird hard spot in my right breast. I had assumed it was my breast implant edge that got traumatized from a Mammogram. It hurt a bit when I pressed on it so I decided to seek medical advice. My aesthetic nurse, who does my PRP facials recommended Dr. Kao. She said she sends all her clients that have botched jobs to him. She said "he is a MAGICIAN" and no one does what he does technically. He has about a 1.5 year waiting list but I was fortunate enough to get in with due to someone else's last minute cancellation. His staff are all courteous, kind, and professional. During my consultation, Dr. Kao was a consummate professional and very personable. He did a thorough exam and found that I had a Grade 4 encapsulation. He recommended I have a breast explant as soon as possible for it was not healthy to leave it in much longer. I did not want to get new implants, instead I wanted a fat transfer. I did my research on him and his special techniques. I asked if he could do the "Alexandria" breast lift after my explant. He said "you are not a good candidate for this particular procedure. It cost more money and you will not have a good result with it. I recommend the Origami Lift instead. It will be more cost effective and a much better result based on your shape and current situation. It will be in two parts. First the explant and then we can do a second procedure at a separate time to do a fat transfer to create the size you desire. You cannot get too lean otherwise I will not have enough to work with." I really appreciated his ethical opinion and care factor. I went in and had my breast explant, with the Origami lift. He had originally prognosed my surgery for about 5 hours. He went in to do the explant and got an unexpected HOT MESS situation. He found a mass, about the size of a thumb, in my right breast with my nerves and blood vessels all tangled up around the mass. He had to meticulously remove the mass without causing and injury to my nerve or vascular structures. Then he had to do the Origami lift with meticulous stitching. My whole process took 12 hours, due to the complexity of it all, BUT I was in GREAT hands with experts. His anesthesiologist , Dr. Shaw did a great job as well. I had to wait several months for my tissues to heal and be ready for the fat transfer. He moved fat from my flanks and tummy, and let me tell you he IS a MAGICIAN. Instead of doing just plain ol' liposuction, he completely gave me a new, BEAUTIFUL shape in my waist. Even when I am down to my leanest 12% body fat when I compete in bikini fitness, I still looked boxy due to my genetics. Because of Dr. Kao's ARTISTIC SKILLS I am beyond ecstatic with my results. Well, I haven't had anything done, but I did give a call to see what this process is. I think the receptionist gave me pretty direct information. So I think this would be helpful for potential clients. Consult is $1000 (to be applied to future surgery or future consultations if needed). They are scheduling over a year out, so in order to schedule, you need to be put on the waiting list and provide a credit card number (I decided not to do this because I'm not comfortable giving out my cc number for being put on a wait list, but I can understand why they do that). I read somewhere that the ponytail facelift runs at least $30,000, which I thought was high. But it looks like their cost is now at least a whopping $200,000. If you want a single area on the face, the cost could be from $66,000 - $100,000. Breast augmentation surgery is upwards of $50,000. If you want to do face and body, that would have to be done in 2 separate procedures. read more

I saw Dr. Kao for a ponytail lift consultation a few months back and decided not to do it as he didn't make me feel comfortable or safe about going ahead with the surgery; he didn't get into any technical details about the procedure, it seemed vague. I also heard and read reviews that he does things that the client didn't ask for.. which seems worrisome. He does have an artistic eye though, but I'm not sure about his method as it's not clear or guaranteed. I heard the price ranges in the 40,000's...! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. In the terrifying time between diagnosis and picking a medical team, I talked to several plastic surgeons. From my research, I knew that reconstructing my breasts after mastectomies would be a long road, and it was important to choose a plastic surgeon I trusted. I chose Dr. Kao because he took time to really talk to me, to listen and to answer my questions. Five years later, I am very glad I made that decision. I had several surgeries, which is standard for breast reconstruction after mastectomy and radiation. I was, and am, far more concerned with staying alive than my breasts, but I sincerely believe that few other doctors would have been able to get the results that Dr. Kao has. He is a perfectionist, and he warned my husband and I at the outset that we would be ready to stop before he was. It's true, after three years of cancer treatment and recovery, and letting my radiated tissue heal as much as it could, I really didn't care much if I had re-created nipples. But I had the surgery anyway (skin graft), and couldn't believe how much more whole I felt after I healed. Not only did I have complete breasts, Dr. Kao had completely concealed my scars. I hadn't know that was even possible, and the psychological benefit was enormous. It's true, his office is very chic, and you get the feeling that most of the cosmetic patients are very wealthy. However, I NEVER felt like my treatment was about money. In the five years since my initial surgery, I have never hesitated to call or visit the office if I had a question or concern for fear of getting a bill. Quite the opposite - during my treatment his office worked with my insurance company and I never got a bill I wasn't expecting. Several years ago his office stopped accepting my insurance but I finished my reconstruction with him because when I got opinions from other plastic surgeons in the area they told me he had done an excellent job and I should stick with him! So I did, and his office always works something out with me. A relationship with a plastic surgeon requires a high level of trust, and I'm sure not every doctor will click with every patient. I would urge anyone making such an important decision to get multiple opinions and choose the doctor that's the right fit for them. Anyone considering Dr. Kao should know that he took excellent care of me and got results that I'm not sure many other surgeons could have achieved. I highly recommend him and his staff. read more

Dr. Chia Chi Kao is an artist. He knows what beauty is and works on each case as if an artist is working on perfecting a painting. I had the Alexandra breast lift (with fat transfer & internal bra) with Dr. Kao back in March 2021, and I couldn't be happier with my results. I love my new breasts - not only do they look perky, but they look exceptionally natural. I initially was interested in implants, but hearing about all the different stories regarding breast implant illness, I decided to just do fat transfer for a bit of volume. Dr. Kao even told me that I should go back for the second part of my surgery to further perfect my breasts, but he did such a great job with just one operation that I don't even see the need for a second touch up. He is truly one of a kind - his skills are beyond the norm, and his bedside manner is amazing as well. He's light, funny, and super friendly. MY EXPERIENCE WITH DR. KAO In 2004, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 lobular breast cancer of the right breast. I was devastated but marched forward vowing to beat this thing. After nine rounds of chemotherapy, six weeks of radiation and a mastectomy, I was "finished" and decided against reconstructive surgery. In 2006, I found another suspicious lump in my left breast and my surgical oncologist recommended that it be removed as well. He referred me to Dr. Kao to discuss reconstructive surgery to both breasts. I contacted Dr. Kao's office, explained my situation and they scheduled an appointment for me to see him soon thereafter. I didn't go alone. My dear husband (to whom I've been married for more than 43 years) and our three daughters went with me. I will never forget that first visit. We were greeted warmly by Dr. Kao. He asked about my history and treatment. He really listened to me and answered all my questions. He understood my concern about going through another mastectomy along with reconstructive surgery. When he examined me, he literally studied my flat, scarred chest for what had to be a solid three to four minutes without saying a word. He then looked up and explained what he could do for me. He was concerned about the irradiated right breast tissue but he came up with a very conservative multistage approach for both breasts which made total sense to us. I knew he was the right doctor for me. So did my husband and daughters. Dr. Kao also gave me something that day that I really needed and at a time when I needed it most. He gave me hope. Dr. Kao is a talented surgeon with gifted hands, a wealth of knowledge and a kind and compassionate heart. His thorough preparation is unparalleled... He invests an enormity of time studying, and planning on how to approach and tackle the case to obtain the optimal outcome and I am so grateful to be his patient. Choosing the right surgeon is crucial and, when under duress, is not an easy thing to do. I am a cancer survivor having been diagnosed with bilateral DCIS on March 31 2016... which began my journey of dealing with cancer. Dr. Kao was not my first plastic surgeon for reconstruction but I am so fortunate to have found him for my second chance... on reconstruction... and he will be my last!!!! When I was diagnosed I immediately began the process of researching and consulting with numerous specialists to make decisions on my treatment plan... this included 4 plastic surgeons all highly recommended by the oncology specialists I was speaking to (regretably Dr. Kao was not one of them).... I made the difficult decision to undergo a double nipple sparing mastectomy with reconstruction, rather then lumpectomies with radiation. While my oncology surgeon who performed the mastectomies - Kristi Funk, MD., worked her magic.... I was not so lucky with my my initial choice in plastic surgeons. I underwent not 1 or 2 or 3, or 4... but 8 - yes 8 reconstructive surgeries with that surgeon between 6/2016 and 6/2017 all under general anesthesia. While I did know going in that the need for multiple reconstruction procedures was not uncommon after mastectomy... no one ever suggested there would be 8 of them. And while with each procedure my original surgeon assured me there would be improvement and that this was the nature of the beast.... unfortunately no improvement followed. The outcome was so horrifying that by the 8th surgery... I would cry each morning when I saw my reflection in the mirror... After so many tries I began to think it was just me.... I was being selfish and should be grateful to be cancer free. Nevertheless I began consulting with other plastic surgeons and after meeting with 3 more plastic surgeons I found Dr. Kao.... who was the first who left me feeling he could improve my outcome. In our initial meeting, Dr. Kao spent nearly two hours with me. He took the time to outline each and every step of the procedures he would perform and what I could expect. He patiently answered all my questions, provided me with detailed explanations of what he could and would achieve, and explained the challenges he and I would face in my second chance reconstruction. His attention to detail, knowledge, and strive for perfection was apparent from our first meeting. i had fat stem cells implanted in my breasts after breast cancer. i waited about 5 years and found dr. kao did this amazing new reconstruction with stem cells. i could not be happier. it takes a few months to settle but i am thrilled and highly recommend him. the staff was wonderful and makes one feel very comfortable. i am feeling whole again and i give much thanks to dr. kao. i would use him again if i needed to. read more

In December 2010, I was diagnosed with DCIS. I had the option to undergo a lumpectomy coupled with radiation, however, I made the decision to have a nipple-sparing double mastectomy the following spring. Choosing the right surgeon is crucial and, when under duress, is not an easy thing to do. I met with two surgeons who came highly recommended and are extremely credible but for some reason, I did not walk away from either meeting feeling confident that they were the one until I met Dr. Kao. PLEASE READ THIS.....Do not let insurance or out of pocket costs be the determining factor in choosing your doctor. These are words I would be looking to hear if I had to make this very important and difficult decision. Had I taken that advice, I would have chosen Dr. Kao from the very beginning. Dr. Kao, a highly renowned plastic surgeon, not only in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, but in reconstruction on a prophylactic double mastectomy due to my BRCA positive gene. This is a very important decision. In my current ongoing experience with Dr. Kao, I have found him nothing short of professional, innovative, meticulous, engaging and most of all compassionate toward women. He will take his time. He is not looking for the quickest way to do this procedure. He is looking for the BEST way to do it. His expertise and keen sense of balance in plastic surgical procedures left me nothing short of ecstatic after having him correct a breast from a terribly botched surgery by another plastic surgeon. He was willing to do this. He told me that it had to be done with very delicate hands and although he knew it would be difficult, he had the skills to repair the damage that had been done.
