I wish I could do zero stars. My son and a group of his friends, 15-16 yrs old, go get dinner…read moretogether once a month. Yesterday they went to this place. Their entire bill came to $221, $27 of which is the mandatory tip. They all hand their cash to one boy to pay the bill and he inadvertantly put all of the cash in the bill folder. They gave the waitress a total of $310 dollars. She took the money, left and came back with the receipt, but no change. The kids didn't know what to do when and were reluctant to confront the waitress so they came to the parking lot to get me. I spoke with the manager, explained what happened and asked how to fix the problem. The waitress automatically goes off in Chinese for six solid minutes, yelling at the manger. He then looked at me and said she claimed the kids gave her exact change. I can tell you she was lying because she got the exact total wrong then corrected herself. Then she quoted the next amount which ended in an odd number, saying that's what the kids gave her. All the kids gave big bills, no $1 were given. That's the second lie. The manager said he would review the camera footage and get back to me. He didn't. I called him the next day and 430pm and he said he was too busy to look at it. I got him to look at it while I was on the phone. He did. Twenty minutes on hold and he came back and told me that the cameras stopped working at 604, which happened to be right before the kids paid the bill (odd), and he didn't see the kids transaction or what the waitress did with it. Either the waitress went all oceans 11 on the $87 overage, or she split it with the manager I say. Bottom line. At best their wait staff takes advantage of people, at worst they're theives. Either way, they'll never get a another dime out of me or the parents of the 9 other kids families. Seems to me like it would not be worth $87 but I guess it is to them.

The food was mid, and what I'd expect for the prices here. I say mid just because it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for a hibachi place such as this, and the portions were lacking. Appetizers and entrees include soups, salads, tempura, ramen, lots of sushi, teriyaki, hibachi, etcetera. Beverages include a selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Prices are average. My husband and I walked into this restaurant during a busy time, but the employees still promptly seated us in a nice private room. The waitress was friendly, and she promptly took our order and brought out our drinks. Later on, she got busy with other customers, so a different employee kindly gave us drink refills and cleared our table. As for the drinks and food: My husband said that his tea was way too strong. The sides of soup and salad were good. My crab rangoon contained lots of cream cheese and was OK compared to other restaurants' crab rangoon. My vegetable hibachi consisted of fresh and flavorful broccoli, carrots, onions, zucchini, and mushrooms. My husband said that his Phoenix tuna sushi and his steak hibachi were good. On the side were fried rice and noodles.

A Beautiful Atmosphere and Outstanding Service for a Truly Special First Visit:…read more My first visit to Mizu Restaurant in Niles, Ohio was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, I was impressed. The restaurant was absolutely immaculate. Everything looked spotless, polished, and well cared for, which immediately gave me a great first impression. You can tell they take pride not only in their food and service, but in the atmosphere they create for their guests. One of the first things that caught my attention was the beautiful wall of water with bubbles in it. It was such a unique and eye-catching feature, and honestly it set the tone for the whole evening. It gave the restaurant such an elegant and relaxing feel. I absolutely loved it. It added a calming, almost upscale touch that made the whole place feel special without being stuffy or uncomfortable. The ambiance was another standout. The lighting was low and warm, which made the restaurant feel cozy and inviting. The music was also at the perfect level -- low enough that you could actually enjoy your conversation, but still there to add to the mood. They had popular music playing, and it blended in so well with the overall vibe of the restaurant. Everything about the setting felt balanced, comfortable, and thoughtfully done. What really made our first time at Mizu memorable, though, was the service. The wait staff was amazing. Our server was attentive in a way that felt natural and genuine, never forced. I never once had to ask for anything because he was always right there when we needed him. Drinks were taken care of, questions were answered, and every need we had was met almost before we even had to mention it. That level of attentiveness can completely change a dining experience, and in our case, it absolutely did. What stood out most was how the staff made our first visit feel truly special. There is a big difference between simply being served and being genuinely taken care of, and that is exactly how we felt here. We felt welcomed, appreciated, and comfortable the whole time. For a first-time visit, that means a lot, because it instantly makes you want to come back. Mizu Restaurant gave us more than just a meal -- it gave us an experience. Between the immaculate cleanliness, the stunning water feature, the relaxing ambiance, and the outstanding service, this place left a lasting impression on me. It's not often that a first visit feels this complete, but Mizu really delivered in every way that mattered. I would absolutely recommend Mizu Restaurant in Niles to anyone looking for a place with a beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, and a dining experience that feels a little extra special. Our first time there was memorable for all the right reasons, and we will definitely be back.

Sushi sounded good and that's how I found Hanami Express. I ordered online from the extensive lunch menu. Most entrees were around the $8 -12 range. I opted for a three roll sushi special ($14.95) and the lunch hibachi salmon ($12.25). I'll start with the positive - there is a drive thru which makes pick up a breeze. I ordered the Philly roll, a Boston roll and the tempura shrimp roll. The presentation was pretty much what you find with grocery store sushi to the point of the tempura shrimp almost looked unappetizing. I'm never one to shy away from cream cheese but the strip of cream cheese in the Philly roll was overpowering. The soup had some mystery white stuff floating on top. My husband ate both bowls of our soup. The hibachi salmon was as underwhelming as the sushi. Two small pieces of extremely dry salmon with a serving of bland mixed veggies. I ordered steamed rice and it came with fried rice instead - not a biggie but still... Even the fortune cookies were a disappointment. Mine was broken into a bunch of pieces and both were stale. We're going to a catered dinner tonight - at least today will not be a total loss for my taste buds.
